Actually traumatised. Went in for some extra guidance for my curly hair, left with crispy curl-less hair that was cut a good 5 inches shorter that when I walked in. I asked to keep it long and they cut it so short. I spent 3 hours there and multiple hundreds of dollars to look like I haven’t washed my hair in a month. They also cut my hair so jagged and flat. They told me big curls weren’t possible for me, even when I was showing them a photo of my naturally very curly hair. I’m so sad, and so traumatised. I feel so ugly. Never going back. Christmas gift to myself was a total waste. See my beautiful curls before going there, vs immediately after getting home from the salon.

Worst experience. Booked in for a colour, they said they didn’t have time. They were openly complaining about their clients behind me. I never use heat products and booked in specifically for a treatment to rectify heat damage and the hairdresser started blow drying and attempting to use a curling wand after I explicitly said not to. Thought the cut would be the saving grace but it’s the worst hair cut for curly hair I’ve ever had. They took all of the volume out and finished up with the razor. I can’t even. Just don’t go here.

They gave me the worst haircut I've ever had, it looked absolutely nothing like the pictures I showed them. I've been getting my curly hair cut for years and know exactly what I like so was very specific about what I wanted.

She put way too much product on my hair so it looked frizzy and greasy, and my normally ringlet curly hair looked straight from the insanely hot hairdryer she put me under for 40 minutes.

The hairdresser and I also explicitly agreed she would cut only 1 inch off (which she showed me on my hair) and she took off around 8 inches instead?

I burst into tears after my appointment and wore my hair in a bun until I could get it fixed by another hairdresser.

None of the girls who worked there seemed like they wanted to be there, and were openly talking about hating the job while I was getting my hair done.

Also, the hairdresser was seeing about 4 other clients at the same time as me. I sat for ages waiting to get my hair washed, sat for even longer with dripping wet hair waiting for her to come over for the cut and then was left in the hair dryer for far too long because she was with other clients. I spent 4.5 hours there for a wash and cut. By the end I was tired and hungry and just wanted to leave.

There are a million other salons in Sydney that have hairdressers that actually know what they're doing, enjoy the work and understand curly hair. This place is not one of them.

Worst haircut of my life. When I made remarks to her, she always acted in bad faith. Yet I've been doing the same haircut for 10 years and this is the first time I've come out with such a disaster.
1. The shampoo was not done well because the manager is so stingy that she does not shampoo much
2. The weaving technique is not mastered I end up with holes everywhere
3.6 hours of waiting for a cut which must be done in 2h30/3h maximum.
4. The hairdresser is so bad that she yelled does anyone speak French because I had a French accent.
Result: I burst into tears and lost $450.
TO FLEE! Opinions are not real opinions, that's impossible. I wish I had read the negative reviews first.

I went to see if there was a better style to compliment but natural wave. Hair stylist did a good job coaxing out my natural curl pattern but the cut is an awkward length that doesn't suit me and is choppy/uneven.
I didn't feel comfortable in the salon. The comments made between stylists made me feel like it wasn't curly enough to be there.

Highly recommend this salon for curly hair! Tracy and Rumbie were very knowledgeable and gave me excellent advise and have a wicked sense of humour. I’m definitely going back! One tip: allow yourself plenty of time!

Rumbie is the first curl salon I have tried and it has made a lot of difference how I treat my hair and how I style it. The cut is great as the shape has lasted several months rather than a week or 2 from a normal salon. The protein treatment has really helped condition. If they don’t get it right they fix it. Great service and lovely team. Take your laptop though!

Such an amazing staff and so welcoming. They take the time to teach you how to manage your curls.

Great experience at Rumbie & co. I’ve always been sceptical about my haircuts (since I have curly hair) and would never have a good experience but ever since I’ve come to Rumbie & Co.it’s been great! Would highly recommend to all the curly hair folks out there!

I’m new to Sydney and was delighted to find a salon for curly girls so booked more than a month in advance with a Senior stylist for a cut and full head of foils between 12-2pm on Saturday. A deposit of 2/3 of the advertised price was required.

I arrived 10 minutes early, was seated by 12: 30 and the colour began at 12: 45. The stylist was lovely and explained early on that she had limited English. She used Google translate to help me understand her points and gave me some hair care tips prior to the cut. I explained that I wanted very subtle golden/brown to my very dark hair to add some highlights. She bleached my hair without using any foil just rubbing bleach on random sections. 1 hour later the bleach was washed out and I was reseated at the mirror. Throughout this time the Stylist moved between several other clients. I find this to be such a bad experience. I paid for 2 hours of your time and it wasn’t cheap. I don’t expect to be ignored or left sitting with dripping wet hair for the price being asked. Furthermore, the time I set aside for this was 2 hours going by your schedule! It’s so disrespectful to book someone for 1-2 hours and then expect them to completely clear their day because you choose to overbook your staff.

The Stylist spent 10 minutes cutting my hair shorter. No discernible style, just shorter than what it was when I walked in even though I’d explained I wasn’t happy with the current shape or style. Then I went under a dryer, she styled my curls, I paid the balance and finally left 4.5 hours after arriving.

I was embarrassed to walk out with orange, brassy hair which was too short for the curls she had styled. I didn’t have anymore time to spend there and I was hungry and thirsty because I hadn’t expected to spend so long in the salon. I’m beyond disappointed that a Senior Stylist would mess up both my cut and colour and livid at the price I paid for what I got. The result looks like something from an apprentice at a chain salon or a home job!

I have since dyed my hair myself to try and fix the orange (which I had to wear through Mother’s Day celebrations).

I won’t be back unfortunately.

Rumbie is the absolute best in the business! She took great care of me and made the process of styling hair hair educational as well as enjoyable. Her products are amazing and I swear by them to this day!

Such a phenomenal and relaxed space, really can’t recommend this place enough. Had a wash and blow dry. The team was very knowledgeable in looking after my type of hair, something that is hard to find in Sydney. Very thankful for their care even though I had no appointment booked in today. I've been going to Rumbie and Co for years now and the improvement in my curls has been immense. They always take care to teach you how to care for your hair and are truly passionate about caring and cutting for curly hair. People always ask about how I do my hair and I always send them to Rumbie and Co.

Rumbie and Co is by far the best hair dresser I have ever been to in my life for curly hair. And now the only place I will go. I left there feeling proud and unashamed of my hair that my beautiful ancestors have passed down to me.

This was hands down the best salon experience I've ever had. As a curly girl, I've been traumatized one too many times from hair dresses dying my hair straight, cutting it straight, and doing all sorts of weird things to it. So I was really nervous going into my appointment at Rumbie & Co. But it was amazing. Tracy (my stylist) took the time to evaluate my hair, give excellent recommendations, and really took the time to work towards what I wanted to get done. She's an absolute pro, and I could not recommend her, and the whole team more!

I couldn’t fault the team at Rumbie, they were so welcoming and I left with my hair feeling healthier and with cleaner looking curls than I ever have. They talk you through exactly how to care for your hair as well which has been life changing for me. I used to straighten my hair all the time because I never knew how to do it and now I’m happily curly 99% of the time!

Before discovering Rumbie & Co, I had never had a good experience when it came to hairdressers because of the sheer mass of hair I have. Always felt like a burden. Entering Rumbie & Co, I am always welcomed by the amazing staff and always provided with tips on how to maintain my curls. I regularly return for some treatments and soon a trim. My hair has been thriving since! Thank you thank you!
