Ray White Newtown

Had a terrible experience and will never use Ray White brand again.

Viewed a property to lease and they advised to put a holding deposit as property was in demand.

The house was a mess on the first inspection and I was told it would be clean and tidy to same standard as photos on their website.

Second inspection we found water leak coming from bathroom through the walls (clearly a major issue which had not been addressed for some time and will lead to damp and mould).

Website advertisement stated appartement was to be painted and on second viewing we were told it would not be painted. They used a play on words, trying to tell us is was in fact painted, just forgot to mention that it was many years!

Property was not anywhere close to being in condition as shown in photos on ray white website. They had obviously used old photos from god knows how many years ago!

When we pointed this out to the property manager and withdrew from signing the lease they refused to refund the holding deposit.

The property manager was Sladjana.

She was verbally very aggressive to my wife on the phone.

Terrible service, misleading marketing and in my opinion professional misconduct.

They will make you join rentalrewards.com so they can siphon your bank account

A proper payment system needs to be put in place

I can send money for free but forced to pay almoast $8 a fortnight just for the transaction to be made

There reply was our only other option is a bank cheque that cosy $10 per transaction

I can send them my rent for $0 per transaction but not aloud what kind of scam is this

Renting has usually been hell for me. From agents lying on the advertising through to their condition reports, to landlords secretly filming me, and refusing to fix things like a stove that literally exploded, I *hate* having to move because it usually just means more pain. BUT, so far I’ve had only good experiences with Ray White Newtown - from the inspection which was professionally managed, through to prompt and very thorough paperwork and the best condition report I’ve ever had, it has been a pleasure to deal with an agency and individuals where I’m being treated professionally and respectfully. I’ve never understood why it’s so difficult for real estate agencies to do rentals well - I know it’s not the hugest part of their income, but it is their business. And what if I want to buy someday? Well, I’ll tell you - I have a long list of inner west real estate agents I would never even consider buying with because they treated me terribly. I would definitely have Ray White Newtown at the top of the list to speak to - especially if I was looking at an investment property - of the type I’m now happily settling into.

Cristina has been a pleasure to have as my propoerty manager. Responsive and has not let me in the dark at any stages.
All residents had issues with an abusive tenent within the building and although took a fair bit of time due to legalities, we got through this successfully.
End of tenency was very smooth with opportunity to adjust minor elements which I was grateful to have Cristina being flexible with key drops as an example. Would definitely use Cristinan if I was to let my apartment out given the rigour she applied to the property maintenance and end of lease inspection.

I just moved in to the second apartment with Ray White Newtown and I'm very happy with their service since day one. Yani, who has been assisting me since then, is absolutely the best! Very kind, professional and always ready to help me with anything I need, 100% trustworthy! Moving between two apartments with the same agency made my life much easier with zero stress.

I have rented so many times and I have to say Yani from Ray White Newtown was the best property manager I have ever had the pleasure of dealing with. Anytime I had a problem I would contact Yani about the issue and it was sorted and booked in the next day. In my opinion this is unfortunately rare with property managers.
I would not hesitate to use Ray White Newtown again especially if Yani would be my property manager.

James O’Connor must be right up there with the best, nice, polite and very easy to chat with.
