North Sydney Harbourview Hotel reviews
54Very convenient close to station and ferry, with stunning views on Sydney. No need to stay in the CBD. Restaurants in McMahons Point for a lovely village atmosphere.
It was amazing Staying Here With The Adorable Nice Harbour View. Quiet Room Only Thing Was Disturbing Was Train Track. Rest Was Awesome. Quick Room Service And Helpful Staff.
Bookend one of the rooms for an overnight stay on level 7 - Little did I know what I would hear the train arriving into north sydney train station every 10mins or so - could not get a decent sleep!
The hotel staff are helpful and polite. The restaurant are a step above the rest, they are brilliant! They are the reason I keep coming back! See you in a month or two!
Great venue. Very clean. Fantastic view if you book a harbourside room. Helpful staff. Easy access to transport. We'll be back.
Fantastic staff & service, made you feel very welcome. We had a great time & hopefully we will be back soon.
This place is ok if you want to use it as a base to come back and forth from if you want to explore sydney. Would not stay in the room all day. Early 2000's tech and furnature in the rooms.
If you want to drive (if the parking spots undeground are full) its first come first serve above ground in front of reception and can be chaotic at check out times.
If you have a baby and a pram there is no ramp to go down the steap stairs to the city forcing you to go down the drive way ramp. (Risky)
But its an easy drive to the hotel and close to the city.
You do get a great "view" of the bridge.
Awesome weekend getaway. Reasonably priced, clean, and with friendly staff willing to go the extra mile. Views are gorgeous.
View put on a fantastic night on New Year’s Eve as they do every year and the room I stayed in had everything I needed. The food at LB’s for breakfast and dinner was very nice.
Stayed for a night, thought I’d leave a review and share my experience
Pros:
- The view. Amazing view of the harbour bridge and nearby harbour. Can also see Luna park and anzac bridge. I would assume that it would be an amazing place to stay during the fireworks or the vivid light festival. I was on the 13th floor.
- breakfast. Breakfast was good with good service from the restaurant staff as well.
- there is a really nice Italian restaurant nearby, Anchor.
- good to go for a relaxing walk at night.
- close to Coles and Woolworths for some late night snacks.
Cons:
- a train station runs under the building and you will be able to hear/feel a little rumble when the trains come and go.
- my bed wasn’t too comfortable (we had a queen bed)
- I didn’t have Netflix or YouTube, it wasn’t a smart TV. You could pay to watch movies but it was as a package and they cost $15-20 from memory. Not sure if you had to request it or they don’t have it at all.
Conclusion:
Would definitely visit again if I feel like a relaxing weekend or short trip to the city with a view. Just relaxing and taking in the view with a drink was amazing. Photos taken by me
We booked the room off Booking.com and paid for a Harbour View. The only view we had was of the train lines. We were in room 414, the noise and vibration of the trains kept us awake all night.
Aaamazing welcoming staff! Accomadation was lovely suprisingly rooms are quite big, views are just spectacular the only downfall really is the noise of the train but apart from that would definitely recommend staying here and very good rates, I'm definately going to book again.
Worst hotel, would not recommend to anyone. Was on the top floor room and they had rubbish service. Trying to charge extra for everything.
Don't don't even have a buffet breakfast
Great value. Building is a bit dated.
Staff: Friendly and helpful
Rooms: Cracking views of the harbour bridge and the waters. Make sure you ask for a room on that side. I imagine the other side would have garbage views.
Access: Easy access.
COVID safe: Yes.

Rooms: Average
Price: Great value
We paid a lot of money to stay for 9 nights. The room we were given was nothing like they advertised. It should not have been let out to guests.
The mattress was so incredibly sagging that my husband slept on the floor for two nights before we realised that the foot end of the matress was less worn and flipped it around. It felt like it hadn’t been changed in 20 years.
The mini fridge kept leaking water all over everything. When we moved some of the bottles out of it, there was slime all over the bottom.
They supplied a portacot for us but no matress. Instead, they placed 4 sets of full sized sheets in the bottom. Ever heard of SIDS? ! How about common sense? ! You don’t put anything loose in a baby’s cot, especially 4 queen sheets! Luckily, we brought our own bedding for it.
And halfway through our stay, the aircon broke at night. It took 3 hours (past 10pm) before anyone would tell us what was happening. I had a very irritated toddler who should have been asleep hours before, crying from being so uncomfortably hot. They eventually let us move to another room on the 9th floor which was amazing! Huge, new, comfortable!
The buffet was exceptional. They had a seperate table for gluten free items and a seperate toaster. All the foods were labeled too. I’ve never experienced anything like it!
The hotel is in a very convenient location, half a block to North Sydney Station. However, access into the building isn’t very accessible friendly. If you’re not driving, you have the option of 20 or so stairs up the front or dodge cars with no line of sight on the car park ramp (which was our only option wth a pram).
A bit far from the airport and no shuttle service is available (which is apparently the case for most hotels outside of the usual airport range). We decided to take the metro/train from the airport and Uber back to the airport. Both were reasonably priced. The train station is within walking distance to the hotel (even if you have luggage). Plenty of places to eat in the area and just a short train or car ride over the bridge to the downtown Sydney. Staff were friendly. Rooms were clean. We had a great view of the bridge.
Only stayed one night so didn’t get a good feel for any other amenities the hotel offers but no real issues during our 24 Hr stay. I would likely stay here again.
Nice hotel, rooms are comfortable and staff are friendly. View was amazing. We walked over the harbour bridge to the rocks when we first arrived, which took a few hours (while stopping and lot, and going up the tower of the bridge to see the views ($15 each, worth doing) also worth knowing is that if you are a guest of the hotel you can sw at the Olympic pool a short walk away towards milsons point which is great, we took advantage of this, as you don't get a chance to swim with that view very often!
More reasonable than getting hotels at the swanky (Circular Quay) end of the city, make sure you request a room with a view to get stunning panoramic views of Sydney's city skyline. The only downside is that due to North Sydney train tracks below you can hear the rumble of the trains (at least we could on level 3!)
This is a lovely hotel, amazing staff, really accommodating and kind. I stayed with them in 2017. I meant to come back in 2018, will have to aim for 2019!
Fantastic Location, rooms are okay. Great view. Hotel is right above North Sydney Station, so a little noisy, but you cant beat the convenience. Greenwood hotel very close by. Short walk to shops. Service is very good.
