Myall Lakes National Park reviews
45Book early for campsites, make sure that you can get to the campsite that you book and please remove your booking if you can't actually use it as many people love the sites and book but don't actually pitch up on the day.
Great experience. Must visit and see 400 year old Tree. I would recommend to drive 4*4 if possible.
The Worimi Aboriginal people had inhabited the Myall Lakes National Park land area for its abundance of natural resources. These natural resources had offered a traditional hunter-gatherer lifestyle for the Worimi people. The park includes important spiritual sites that are an important part of the identity of local Aboriginal people. Dark Point Aboriginal Place served as a location for the Worimi people to gather together for ceremonies and feasts and has been of significance to Worimi people for at least 4000 years.
Myall Lakes National Park offers a variety of rugged natural environments from beaches to sand dunes to forests, with beautiful scenery wherever you go. The trade off for this is a lack of infrastructure so be prepared to bring everything with you that you might need. Campgrounds are often booked out in peak holiday periods so get in early. Nearest towns with shops / restaurants include Hawks Nest, Tea Gardens, Nerong or Bulahdelah.
Always love it up here. Over the years it's becoming harder and harder to be able to get in due to the booking system, and the cost seems to keep reaching. But it's a slice of heaven.
Had a great time camping here with the family. Very conveniently placed location. We would recommend that you bring your own water.
Lovely short trip from Myall Shores across ferry along spectacular coastline to Hawkes Nest a pretty holiday destination.
Good, clean toilet facilities throughout the park and ranger presence.
Mungo Brush has a beautiful clean lake area with gorgeous views and areas of shade near the water and picnic tables. A really beautiful spot to swim and watch the boats and jetskis in the distance, and enjoy the panoramic views of the surrounding hills and water.
Rubbish and recycling skips at Mungo Brush were very helpful.
The ferry to cross at Bombah Point was a nice little ride.
The Banksia Green area was a great spot to camp with barely any mosquitoes. Plenty of short green grass and open area for the kids to play and even a little sandy area which they found fun. Byo shade for your camp area!
Dingoes, goannas, fairy wrens, whipbirds, cicadas and Eastern Water Dragons were all seen and/or heard around the place.
The camp grounds at Mungo Brush was excellent. The amenities are good and clean. Just watch out for the kookaburras and dingoes trying to steal food.
Note this ALERT from Park website:

Beautiful place amazing wildlife views are unreal just take ur time make peace And u might even see the odd dingo
Easy to book. At Mungo Brush easy to select site number. With this system you can see how crowded it is. Very scenic, loved it.
Very bad customer service, unfriendly and rude staff. Dirty facilities, everywhere is rubbish. We have been camping since 2000, we have never seen such a bad camping spot like this.
One of our family favourite places to go on holiday, love it even when it rains the whole time.
Beautiful place! The walk up to the lighthouse really is something after the recent bush fires.
This is my local park. The western side is a contrast to the coastal environment of the east. On this side you’ll see signs of old logging activity and if you’re lucky a brumby
We stayed at The Wells Campground. Beautiful place right on the like with views to the hills on the other side. Great sunsets while we were there.
Walking just in forest. Trees everywhere on the way. Nothing to see. Beware of moustikos fee for ferry and parking. Better not stop here
Absolutely best place for a quiet relaxing holiday. The water is perfect for kids 5 years and over. There is a swing for kids to swing over the water and jump into it. At night you can put your aqua socks on and grab you torches and nets and have fun scooping little fish. All in all fun, great, relaxing place to stay.
