Minnamurra Rainforest Centre reviews
39 We went during school holidays
There was a wait to get a posting spot, but only 15 minutes.
Cost $12 to park
We did the full loop to the falls and then the lyrebird track on the way back
It was busy, but that did not take away from the sheer beauty.
The falls were in fine form with the recent rain.
Be warned there are steep inclines and wear good footwear.
Make sure you are fit, as this isnt for those that arent up for a steep 2 1/2 hour return walk. I was disappointed with the waterfall, seeing we had not had the rain, so it was very dry. We did see some black parrots and a few Liar birds on the walk. $12 for parking but free entry to the rainforest. Remember to go to the toilet before you start and take water with you.
Very expensive parking $12 no matter how long no option for shorter stay
Staff unhelpful didnt notice doors locked
Tourist trinkets a m ajor rip off
However the walk is beautiful
5 stars! The walking track is grade 4 but feels like grade 2. Great for day out and just less than 2 hours from the city
Loved the whole experience. Great rainforest, great walk and a lovely waterfall at the end.
It was great place to visit the minnamurra Rainforest falls and the water was so interesting to watch it falling from the top to bottom.
Can't believe this waterfall is so close to Canberra, felt like I was in Queensland. Spectacular!
Beautiful loop track through rainforest. A super easy walk. Great for kids or the elderly.
A classic in the Illawarra.
It's ok. The walk from the center to the falls is actually 45 min one way. So you really need 2 hours to enjoy the walk. There's plenty of parking and a fixed rate for $12 no matter how long you stay. You're not allowed to stray off the path so you just have to follow the paved Road and it's not really so much of a bushwalk
5 stars for the beautiful scenery, 1 star for the visitor centre that needs a major overhaul! How about a nice cafe where you can sit and enjoy the beautiful view.
It's a great place for hiking and sightseeing. Word of warning though, it's not an easy hike up hill. You need a determination and somewhat good stamina. Lots of up hill and un even ground. Shoes are recommended than slippers as it is pretty steep on some spots. The waterfall wasn't as great as we're expected. Probably because we went around summer time. Didn't see/notice any dangerous animals while we're there. Though stay cautious as they have the warning signs for a reason. Was really loud too because of the native insects/bug that were trying "to mate"? Overall, a good place for family. Has big toilet to accommodate visitors and restaurant for snacking. I do appreciate the staff/workers in that place looking after and cleaning the "racist graffiti" in the toilet wall. It was unnecessary and disgraceful. It's a family/tourist attraction spot, by doing this "graffiti" you only bringing down local businesses. Would go back once the kids grown up a bit more and not sooking and asked to be carried all the time
The walk to the waterfall was along a boardwalk which made it very practicable and child friendly though at times very steep. Beautiful scenery with the sound of running water around you. Toilet and car parking facilities good; there is a fee to park.
Nice rainforest walk of around an hour and a half. Don't try this one if you got any heart or breathing problems, there are some serious 35+ degree hills in this trek.
But the Minnamurra falls itself is a great reward at the end of the walk.
The ladies working the line queues are real nice, treat them kindly!
We loved it, the walks across the bridges and up to the waterfall was amazing. Definitely worth it
A beautiful rainforest tucked away in the Budderoo National Park. Close by to the village of Jamberoo off Tourist Drive No 9. A subtropical and warm temperate rainforests which is a pocket of a once extensive rainforests of the Illawarra region.
Take the circle walk or veer off to the waterfall track. Ask for directions or make queries at the very helpful information centre at the beginning of the walk. Good signage and maps to help with the walk with ample Nature pictures and photography opportunities.
As Minnamurra is a National Forest so be prepared to pay for parking for your vehicle a fee valid until closing time unless you have a national Forest pass.
We found this beautiful place while holidaying in Wollongong on the south Coast of nsw just a 20 min drive south of our hotel at novotel northbeach beautiful rainforest amazing walk on the suspension bridge well with coming to great waterfall
Nice short walk available (-2kms) or the more challenging but enjoyable Falls walk (~6kms). Ideal for young children to work out energy or adults for a scenic rainforest walk (with inclines).
Info centre sells drinks, ice creams and merchandise/memorabilia.
Delightful, Tranquil, magnificent and lush rainforest. Worth every step of the 1.5 to 2 hours return walk.
Awesome and lovely place. Complete escape to sydney cbd or any cbd. The hike is flat and paved but a bit steep in some parts. Alsonyou cannot access the falls.
A bit of a steep hike over 4 km or so return to see the falls but nothing too difficult for the average reasonably fit person. Took me about 1 hour. Allow another 30 minutes to take in the majesty of the falls. Be prepared to climb uphill most of the way. The metal path is all built above ground so as to protect the environment. We saw a lyrebird on the way back which was a highlight but the falls alone are worth the effort of climbing.
