Merewether Ocean Bath

Safe and suites for all ages as there are two stages (shallow end for kids and deeper for adults). Very fun and great way to get some exercises in with some nice cafes close by.

This bath is very crowded, but is an enclosed area that is great for young children (and bigger ones too in the big pool).

Excellent twin pools at the sea, one for kids and the adjoining one for others. Parking is limited though.

It might be the last day of summer but I’ll still be riding my bike to the best baths in Australia for a while yet

Beautiful views and i love the kids side of the pool too, its great to have everyone enjoy, from what i saw, there isnt anywhere close to get food which wouldve been my only issue with this place but other then that, beautiful place to chill out for the day and watch the sunset over the ocean

Oh dear poor Merewether council can't afford to clean the ew pool or reno the ew ghastly 60's relic of amenities!

One of a kind ocean bath in Australia! This is a family friendly and special place that we will continue to visit event though it's 2 hrs drive for us. Great for kids and adults. Bring your own food though as sometimes the cafe is not open. It was closed on the day we went.

Parking is 4hrs free. Best to come early to grab a spot. Starts to get busy after 10am.

This is the true Aussie way of life. Watch the sun rise and then a quick do in these large ocean water public pools. The pools are meticulously maintained, with excellent facilities to get changed and grab a hot cappuccino after your dip.

Love this place. Baths are clean. The showers might need upgrades. But they work fine. Preferable over Newcastle. Baths are deeper witch is great.

So many choices of baths! Toddler size, kid size and a huge adult size. Plus lots of nice rock hopping and gazing into rock pools or finding shells. Cafe and toilets nearby. Not much shade so bring a beach umbrella.

A beautiful place to go on a sunny day. The baths are split into two, so they accommodate everyone including families. I love coming here as the water conditions aren't as volatile as swimming directly in the ocean on the beach. It's also perfect for a quick dip. Bring your friends, your partner or your family here-you won't regret it!

If your lucky enough, during a high tide and a moderate swell there may be waves breaking into the baths, which can provide a good experience for ocean swimming in an enclosed pool.

Love this place. Great for kids, safe, shallow, contained, clean and accessible. Limited shade, some parking, toilets and life guard patrolled.

Beautiful public ocean baths, great for lap swimming, next to The Merewether Surf House, Blue Door Kiosk, & Merewether Beach.

The must visit place in the warmer months of the year. The atmosphere is amazing the baths relaxing and overall just a great community facility. Parking is a bit of issue but you just need to get there early!

Massive swimming pool with adjoining paddle beach for little kids. Huge surf beach and great views from the headlands.

Lovely ocean swimming, 2 beach chair available for use. One for the sand with the floaties to go in the water, one pool style chair for use into the baths. Equipment is currently in Good condition, just ask the lifeguards and there is ramp access a the way to the pool. The ramp into the pool is nice and wide for acess. Pool is clean but bottom has seaweed and slimy at times, (if you get freaked out by this like me haha) over all a good experience each week when we go.

Great place for a swim, clean and rocks and ocean close by, to explore or sunbake. Change rooms tidy and short walk to plenty of coffee shops and eateries

Pretty cool spot and definitely fun to take a dip in the pool on a hot summer day. There was quite a bit of parking when I visited. I would recommend this place to others.
