I contacted the on-shore Customer Care team (available during office hours) about website related matters. Kevin from the team was very helpful and worked with me to resolve my overall business problem rather than just offering piecemeal technical advice. It was a good customer experience and I would contact the team again should I need further assistance.
Absolutely the worst It company in Australia by far! They have constant issues with emails not being able to be received or sent on a monthly basis, web sites down, it takes hours on hold on support to get an answer. They have major issues with constant, consistent faults. I highly recommend that you do not use this company for any of your IT requirements!

Thanks to Kevin - a few account issues were resolved over the phone rapidly. Good value hosting multiple secure domains for me.
Kevin promptly attended to an issue that had been causing problems for a number of days. His communication was excellent, clearly outlining the cause of the problems, immediately attended to what he could and advising what was being done to resolve the remaining issue.
I am very impressed with the service at Melbourne IT. Lenore in support and the sales team have Been excellent - always straight through to a human - and always great service.
Run Away!
Told that a client of ours was going to have their mail changed from managed exchange to Office365. Asked me to add a TXT record to the DNS and to change the MX record. Did this.
Customer then tells me that all domain mail is failing and they can't log in. I started calling Melbourne IT and NetRegistry and they tell me that "there is a problem with the migration" but they can't tell me what it is. Multiple times I have called in the last six days and multiple times they have "promised" to call me back. Nothing. Zero. Nada. Still no email. As much use as a chocolate teapot. Do NOT USE this company.
Terrible Experience - Website has been down for over 12 hours through no fault of my own. They have no idea what they are talking about, and support team is rude and abrupt and has no knowledge of products or what we are paying for. Do not reccommend.
Scam artists. Refused to move a domain until they got one last payment. Several domains were moved at the same time long before the next payment was due. Mysteriously the only domain they didnt move was the one that was due for payment next. They claim that request was never received despite the new registrar proving the request was sent.
I hope you enjoy that one last payment you scammed out of us. I look forward to ensuring every single person I can reach knows about your predatory behaviour. Official complaints have also be raised with ICANN. You would think that the company that charges 10 times the global market rates wouldn't need to behave in such a way.
If you have any business with Melbourne IT move it now before they scam you as well, there is no need to pay their exorbitant rates for their terrible service. There are 1000's of better companies who will treat you better and charge you 1/10th of what Melbourne IT charge.
Holding my domain hostage because I don't fit their online ID requirement despite numerous attempts to provide the info requested. I can't access MY OWN ACCOUNT to make necessary changes to DNS etc. Appalling lack of care and customer service.
Netregistry/melbourne IT would have to be the most useless, least customer focussed organisation on the planet. Their service status pages are full of daily errors and excuses 'we are confident we have fixed the problem' for months on end.to summarise: shonky and unreliable. Full of excuses. Slow on solutions with poor english offshore call centres apologising for the problems, but offering no solutions. If you go here you will deserve the misery you will surely get.april 2019: its been 4 years since I left the miserable organisation known as melbourne IT and believe it or not I received an email from them telling me how valued I am as a customer and will I give them feedback. These criminals think its OK to retain my details for years to use for their own marketing purposes. D I S R E P U T A B L E
Avoid at all cost.
IT support been moved to India and they are unable to resolve issues caused by their system.
Support team members will keep on telling you that issue is resolved and you have to just wait few hours for DNS servers to synchronise.
However after few exchanges they realise that they cannot solve the issue, support workers will disconnect a call then call you back and terminate the call so that you wont be able to answer.
No one responds to live chat requests.
If you send an email with issue description and screen shots, you will get a reply from "non-reply"@. Email address and phone call from support and the cycle of BS continues.
Melbourne IT dashboard for managing DNS records is broken. I created number of TXT records and some of them are not created (Available when you query DNS servers) and there is nothing I could do right now to resolve it. IT support is non existent.
AVOID THEM AT ALL COST
Our domain would not auto renew and was down for approx 12 days, which meant no emails etc. Support had no idea and said our domain was owned by someone else which I proved it was not, still they did not respond and even hung up on me. Tried calling multiple times to the reception in Australia with no luck, they even blocked my number, eventually one tech was able to renew it for us. ABSOLUTELY HANDS DOWN THE WORST COMPANY I HAVE EVER DEALT WITH!
WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER! No regard to the urgency that our emails are not working. THIS IS WHAT WE PAY YOU FOR.
Our company emails not working for over 5 days now and no resolution. Keep getting either "cut off" after a long wait on hold - up to 1hr 20mins or told they will call back. Which has not happened in 5 days
Unfortunately they are not able to rectify important issues on weekends. Not recommending this host if you value your business and this was on the premium service.
Terrible and rude support with a 40 minute wait time. They send completion text messages to lodged tickets which they have not even addressed or fixed. When you follow-up you get the same run-around.
Absolute worst service. Line always cuts out and no one calls back - meaning constant calls to them re-explaining issue. Complete no accountability or follow up on case, as issue is passed on to the next support person in there terrible off shore call centre. Will never recommend any of my clients use these people
