I have been renting the same property for 6 years now, recently I have urgent issues with neighborhood noise. My property manager Georgina Deluca always responded my email straightaway and let me know the progress. And today she is on annual leave, but she still passed the information to strata manager early in the morning. I really appreciate their service. Well done McGrath!

The customer service at McGrath Ryde, really is second to none in the real estate world. We have been renting with McGrath Ryde these last five years, and have exceptional service from Alexandra and most notably Georgina DeLuca, our entire time. Things get done and fixed in a very timely fashion when I ring Alex or Georgina. As well, these ladies are always very professional and polite. We are greatly appreciative of their service.

I had such a negative experience with the new property I was going to originally move in (and decided not to due to this) and was so stressed with finding a new place in a short time span, however Sherrie was incredibly helpful, friendly and attentive. She was even handling my application process while she was off sick! I've been feeling so much more at ease thanks to Sherrie and the entire team at McGrath Estate Agents Epping:)

I moved out from a rental property in Ryde before Xmas 2020. Got the worst experience when dealing with the landlord, and the agent from McGrath does really care about me at all.

During our rental period, the landlord lady came in multiple times, sometimes the agent emailed me in advance, sometimes there was no notice at all. The landlord used my hose reel and the water (I paid for) to clean the external wall and water the plants in the backyard. She did not care about the privacy of the tenants at all, just did whatever she wanted to. When I told the agent about this recently, he asked me why I felt I was mistreated? And I have moved out, so no actions can be taken? Apparently, the landlord has already breached the tenancy laws, and I don't want the other tenants to be treated the same way? Unfortunately I found she still acted the same way to current tenants.

I moved out on 23rd Dec, the agent emailed me on 26th saying there was dog hair on the astro-turf of the back yard, and it needs to be cleaned. In the same email there was a quote provided by the landlord asked for $1350. And a few days later, they raised something else and sent me a quote asking for $1650. I found a company from hipages and got the dog hair cleaned which costed me $210.

The interesting thing is, the agent told me he did the final inspection on 25th Dec the Xmas day, and the landlord provided a quote on 26th December? She was really supper efficient. And the agent didn't even ask for my opinion if I wanted to get a quote myself? He just emailed me that quote and asked me if I was happy to proceed. The amount the landlord asked for is 6-7 times the invoice I paid for.

When I reviewed the quotes the agent sent me, the quote was actually a photo of a excel file, there was no ABN, no contact number, no address of the company who provided the quote at all, except a name of the company. I searched that name and got a result it was a TV program. So I asked the agent to provide me the ABN of the company. After a few days, the agent came back to me the ABN and address of the company. When I looked up the ABN on abr.gov.au website, the company's entity name doesn't much the name on the quote, the registered address is different, and this company is not even registered for GST.

So I raised this with the agent, but he advised me that McGrath is not responsible for anything. Even in a scenario, the company did not exist at all, and the landlord just took my money and cleaned the astro-turf herself, McGrath is not responsible at all. What a brilliant answer!

Before I moved out, I hired a professional cleaner thoroughly cleaned the house. And when the cleaner was doing his job, the landlord just walked in without any notice in advance, and used my hose reel again cleaning the window.

Same thing when the gentleman was cleaning the dog hair outside, the landlord came in again watching him closely doing anything. That gentleman told me "she followed me everywhere, and no matter what I did, she was not happy. She's picky on everything". The landlord treated people without any respect.

When I told the agent above, he came back and asked me what I wanted him to do? As the biggest Real Estate agent in this country, McGrath doesn't know how to protect their tenants' rights?

Thank you for this issue, now I am quite familiar with NSW tenancy laws.
The landlord needs to give at least 2 days in advance notice before access to the property, otherwise it should be counted as unlawful entry. This had never happened to me, and I told the agent she needs to be stopped from doing this immediately.

Besides, the landlord needs to give the tenant his/her contact details in case the tenant needs to contact him/her. I don't have that either. But the landlord could come in the place whenever she wanted to and did anything she wanted to?

I still haven't got my bond back yet. The agent told me he will proceed that when the owner is happy. My gut tells me it is not over LOL

Robert was excellent to deal with throughout. A professional agent with many years of experience, very honest and a great communicator. If you are thinking of selling, make sure you call Robert and his team in.

We recently signed a lease with McGrath Estate Agents and so far have been very impressed with the service - particularly from Salih Ipek with the out of hours response timeliness - when we encountered some emergency plumbing issues 2 weeks into the rental. The plumbing was organised quickly and follow up thereafter.
