McDonald Jones Stadium reviews
55A very good venue for concerts. Being smaller than the big capital city stadiums, this was much more pleasant experience and getting a good view was not hard. The food truck area was welcome and gave choice over the standard food options in the stadium. Drinks of course were stupidly expensive. Access was easy and finding parking was not difficult. The option of bus shuttles is also great for getting in and out of the stadium.
Small but has a bit of everything. I worked for Paul McCartney festival and yeah, pretty good organisation.
I took the family for an NRL knights home game. Entry at the gate with tickets on phone worked well. Signs to help find section and seat were pretty good. Food and drinks selection in the East grandstand are reasonable for a sport venue. We parked a few blocks away and walked in. Traffic after the game was heavy but with almost 22 thousand people at the game what should you expect!
A great suburban footy ground with plenty of loyal fans good view of the game all round and good amenities still maintains a grassy hill from which to lob yer beer cans when it's not going the knights way didn't know McDonald Jones played for the knights
I had a Covid test, which was quick and painless. Staff provided very efficient service. There was no waiting at the drive-thru testing station.
Always have a great time & experience here for all the varying events Ive ever attended - Like Rugby (league+union), Soccer (local+world),
Car exibitions (hotrod+chrome shows with great displays & music performances too), Concerts, Easy access to Ticketek outlet & such awesomely great coffee at Darks Roasters & I really love a GREAT coffee or three.lol.
Only went for COVID testing, cause I went to Charlestown square on 29 July. Alot of people, good on Novacastrians for getting tested. Only need everyone to get the vaccination and we'll be good to open up the area
I love the Newcastle Knights till I die and I love McDonald Jones stadium because it is a massive stadium and a great stadium where you can get a range of different food and a great range of drinks
The stadium itself is nice and the atmosphere is good. Unfortunately the signage is inadequate and the ground staff are uninformed, so good luck finding your seat in the stands if you're not very familiar with the ground.
Everything was great but the seats seriously need to be numbered again to save confusion. Thankyou.
The seat numbers on the seats have peeled off (at least in bay 60). The sausage roll i had looked/tasted like it had been in an oven for two days. And I swear those goal posts moved about 10cm with the wind. Not what I expect for a NRL quality stadium.
Great stadium. Great game but more security needed. Too many really drunk people. Fighting in ladies room and no security available.
RSA?
It's a concrete stadium. It gets 3 stars just because of the hill. Also the parking is so horible have to park 2km down the road than walk.
Yeah, pretty good stadium.
Plenty of seating options.
Plenty of food stalls.
Plus, being NRL, nothing is truly packed out like AFL.
22,000 people attending the night we went. That's a pretty relaxed attendance.
Went to an 8 hour meeting there the chairs were extremely uncomfortable, had to keep getting up and walking around which made it difficult to concentrate on the meeting. I was in pain the day after too. Thank goodness it was a long walk to the loos so i could get regular exercise.
Food and drink options are expensive and not real good. Apart from that it's a great stadium to watch the soccer at. Seats are all close to the field making for a great atmosphere. Plenty of free street parking nearby.
The Home of the Knights. Upper sections are not a bad view point. Food options are usually disappointing but it's stadium food.
Covide safety could be improved. Not everyone was wearing face masks. North West gate was closed, forcing people into the main West entrance to come together to leave.
Great stadium, big clear screens. Easy exit. If you want undercover seating so you don't get wet - (upper concourse) of either east or west stands. Late arvo eastern grandstand you might get the sun in your eyes. Currently card only facilities. $10 JimBeam $5 bottle coke.
Need more info on accessible parking.the website said call ticket office but the phone number it gives you hands up because it's closed for covid.couldn't buy parking pass
