Such a beautiful location surrounded by wildlife, we were there such a short time yet saw kangaroos, kookaburras and glossy black cockatoos. The cabins were remarkably clean and allover lovely too.

Was such a lovely stay at Maya sanctuary. Really peaceful and relaxing. I want to go back! Hot tub was well kept and was heaven. I spent most of my time in there. Would 100% recommend.
Also get your food before going in.
Thank you Julian!

What a delight to stay in a cottage at Maya Sanctuary last weekend. Can't beat taking a private spa on the veranda looking out over the magical bush setting that is the valley! The earthy colour palette and textures of the interior is very soothing. My partner and I were there for a workshop event and are already planning possibilities for running future events there as it's well set up to host a small group in the Illowra House and Wombat Hall. Delightful walking trails to explore.

One of the most memorable and beautiful getaways in the mountains with a stunning location! The services were exceptional and some pleasant welcoming surprises! Each place is very private and peaceful. Would definitely recommend and will stay again. Thank you the Maya team!

We stayed in one of the Spa cabins for my birthday and we didn't want to leave. Every little detail in the cabin was tastefully curated, from the lovely handmade slippers to the bathroom amenities. We really appreciated the absence of plastic and single use items, alongside the re-use of rainwater which added value to a perfect stay surrounded by nature.
The private outdoor spa overlooking the mountains was the cherry on top, just amazing.
The property is so big we didn't have time to explore it all, but we'll definitely go for a hike on our next stay!
Thank you so much to Julian for being so helpful and making our stay perfect.

Beautiful place with stunning views. Communication was excellent, Julian was very responsive and accommodating. We stayed in the Sirius cabin and our stay was cosy, romantic and extremely relaxing. Would recommend for couples.

I've stayed on 3 occassions and the experience is consistent everytime.
The Hosts are fantastic, the rooms at the main house and the lodge are clean and comfortable.
The property is peaceful.
A photo of the Artist Lodge from my most recent stay.
I highly recommend it.

We loved our stay in the romantic cabins at the Maya sanctuary! We were able to de-stress and recharge fully. So easy when you are surrounded by beautiful nature, amazing views, fun hikes, peace and quiet, a clean, comfy, very homely place to stay, and chill out in your own outdoor spa at the end the day. We will be bck! Thank you!

Epic place for a weekend getaway! Cozy cottage amongst the bush with a great view, hot tub and everything you need for a stay in the mountains.
With a bbq and small kitchen, I recommend taking some basic cooking things and then exploring the surrounding butchers, fruit and veg places etc for your dinner ingredients, as while it’s not super far from townships, it’s nice to enjoy a bbq in this setting.
While exploring the property we saw a horse riding group in a neighbouring property, so if you’re there for a few days it could be good to do that- we will next time for sure!

Had an amazing 2 night stay in the Amore Romantic Cottage. Leading up to the stay, Julian answered all my questions. Before the stay we popped into Centennial Glen Stables and went on an amazing two hour mountain horse ride. Highly recommended!
The check in process at Maya Sanctuary was easy. The spa on the deck had a great view of the mountains. The electric BBQ on the deck was very handy and the fireplace kept us warm. I highly recommend taking all food and drinks with you for the entire stay so you can stay in the one spot and enjoy what the sanctuary has to offer. Enjoyed the walks on the property, you can find the sign posted walks by walking back down the road between Illowra house and Artists lodge. Highly recommended stay.

Best spot in the mountains for a getaway. The cottage we stayed in had all the modern conveniences. The balcony jacuzzi was very relaxing during the cold nights along with the fireplace. The local woolworths wasnt far away if you need to grab something like eggs and bacon. We made breakfast the next morning and sat watching the sunrise. Took advantage of the beautiful walks suggested in the booklet. Loved the cliff walk and got some amazing photos. There was lots of local wildlife that we managed to get quite close too which added to the experience.

Highly recommend this place for a romantic few nights away. Will definately be returning

Maya sanctuary was the perfect place for a birthday weekend getaway. Tranquil, restorative location and the cottages were super comfortable and cosy. The front-deck spa (chemical-free) was the perfect touch! Julian and Andre were kind & helpful hosts, we'll definitely be back

Amazing place to stay! The cottages were super clean and cosy. The fire place and hot tub were a big tick for us. Beautiful tracks around the property which you'll see some awesome birds and lots of Kangaroos! Service was exceptional and we loved the location. Highly recommend!

Quiet and peaceful. Had some private relax time. No disturbances.
If your well prepared and looking for alone time without distractions, then this place is good.
Cannot really do much on the property. Is at least 25 minutes from any place you want to see. No food in site.so you have to come prepared. No drinking water unless you boil the rain water. Spa was low on water and water jets very weak. Bed was too soft as well as pillows.

A small serene escape from city life.

Everything was clean and comfortable, with just enough tools in the kitchen to cook everything I had planned. The electric BBQ on the deck was surprisingly great - perfect for a bacon and egg brekky! I would recommend bringing in enough food for your whole stay so you can just relax and soak up the serenity.

We were in Orana cottage, and the view of the hill and rocky cliffs from the spa was mesmerising, watching it all disappear behind mist and cloud, then dramatically reappearing kept us well entertained.

We had an issue with the spa (a rare problem, no-ones fault) on Saturday night, but our hosts were very responsive and came down to fix it right away (including a full refill). We were able to use the spa again the next morning. They were even kind enough to supply us with a mozzie coil, as there were many mozzies after the recent rain.

The spa was the #1 reason we were there, and it is wonderful, the water didn't smell of chlorine, and after spending way too much time in there over the weekend, my skin isn't dry or irritated.

Overall, it was an excellent little hideaway for our anniversary weekend, we saw cars parked at the other cottages, but never saw another person.

We will be back!

What a place! Peaceful and beautiful. We stayed in the cottage, very clean and had everything that we needed for our weekend away.
Sitting on the deck watching the kangaroos jump past made our day. The spa was fantastic to relax in after our amazing bushwalk around the property, Platypus Creek was a highlight for us, and the variety of bird life was incredible.
The weather was cool, the indoor fire kept the cottage nice and warm and there was plenty of extra wood available in the wood shed.
Thank you for having us and we will be back. Can highly recommend Maya Sanctuary
