Maroubra Saltwater Quality Seafood

Come here quite often with families and friends all year around and it has never disappointed. However today walking in was very unwelcoming with poor customer service! We often travel to get our Seafood from Maroubra Saltwater because it's is cheap and service was once friendly and quick customer service. Loads of options to choose from from the menu, however looking at the two photos (A) battered fish/two different salad with lemons cost $13.90 (B) Two grilled grilled fish with lemons and two different salad cost $27.00.

Customer's I think this was a HUGE MISTAKE and a customer's RIP OFF. A meal would of cost $13.90 on the SALTWATER menu board. Have a look when you walk in? Basically you would of got another meal?

That guy who served us today, did a very good job making an extra $13.90 for the cash float.

I won't be recommending SALTWATER to any of my friends and families to go there every again.

Absolutely delicious fresh Seafood, excellent value & fast, friendly service. I love that fresh salad is included with many of the meals -It makes a Fish and Chip meal so much more balanced & enjoyable.

Love this place. I always order fish and chips and the squid octopus pack with chips and salad. The food is always fresh and they're set up in a way that is covid friendly. Customers wait outside and social distance. Also easy to order takeaway by phone.

Everything is always perfectly cooked. Not too much batter and never too oily.

Best fish and chips in the Eastern Suburbs.forget all those places that have the battered fish done and just drop it in oil to heat it up, NO, these wonderful people take a fresh fillet, batter it in front of you and then it goes in for cooking from scratch.the chips and potato scallops are pretty special too. $11.50 for half fish and chips is a large meal for one.excellent value and very friendly customer service

Good staff who serve very quick and also good personality I was there 5 mins I didn't wait that long,

Great service nice and clean store without a strong fishy smell, I had calamari and chips which was a big serve and very nice, my friend had baby octopus which was a little over cooked she said but the taste was nice and would have it again. I also had a deep fried Mars bar that was nice and would order one again.

I recommend this shop if you want some nice fresh cooked Seafood.

Best value and consistent quality and taste!

I have know this fish and chip shop sine it first opened in 1980’s. A favourite pick me up after school throughout high school years and a place to refill my soul through my young adulthood. As a parent, my kids have enjoyed the same quality and best price when compared to all other local fish and chip shops around.

The secret you may say is the lightness, yet crunch, batter and most importantly the soft calamari rings; not your typical rubber band deep fried like other shops. It is magic!

I will keep on returning to this place, consistently, for years to come and hope you will enjoy this gem of a fish and chip place that others have enjoyed too!

One of my favourite places to get seafood in Sydney. Seafood is fresh, portions are big, prices are good and staff are friendly. Been going here for a few years now and I can't fault anything. Also the fried Mars bar is definitely worth trying.

Best value and great quality fish and chips. Good, experienced service, too. Owners take a lot of pride in their food. You can either have plain or chicken salt. Calamari is really good here. You can also order whatever's in the window and have it crumbed, battered or grilled. Call ahead to avoid queues as it gets quite busy during lunch and dinner.

Well we've tried a few places locally and this one has tasty fish and chips. Very generous portions. U will revisit for sure.

The food was disgusting. Never have I got fish, fried OR grilled that still had the skin on. Skin on fish is cheap food and that is what this place is serving.

The fish was tasteless and soggy. To be honest i don't even know what type of fish it was, all I can say is that it seems to came from the 99c bargain bin.

Never again, there are far better places for fish. Crazy Chixs up the road makes a great fish.and they are a chicken shop. The only reason i went here tonight is I felt like seafood with my fish.

Come here for the chicken salt and the spotlessly clean tables and windows.

Great place for all budgets. Kudos to the management.
