I have used to see John about 20 years ago. I had another flare up recently, saw my doctor for a referral to see John again, as I thought very highly of him. Referral was emailed back at the beginning of November and no one has contacted me for an appointment. I did call about two weeks after the referral was emailed and the rude woman on the phone said that they will call to book me in. Still waiting. Absolute joke.
The receptionist are incredibly rude and dismissive. Moving onto a much better clinic now.

Best location overlooking Newcastle Harbor. Best Receptionist service. Best Medical Service. Best Diagnosis and Treatment Plan. Finally found a Team that ready cares.
Last, but not least: Cheaper then most Specialists with higher than usual Medicare Refund

I have been seeing John relic for over 30 years (as have many family members) he was always very thorough and professional. However, my last few appointments/ consultations have been extremely disappointing. John, you obviously need a break, a long one. You are completely removed from the concerns of the patient. My last appointment with you was on the 20/6
and I have given much thought to leaving this review.
As for the office staff, I think previous reviews provide a pretty accurate idea.

This place is a joke. Wait times are horrendous. On 2 seperate occasions now I have had to wait over an hour. First was 80 minutes. This time was 120 minutes. Yes you read correctly. 2 hours late. Ridiculous. Would not recommend these people at all. If I could give them a zero I would.

Trust the previous reviews. For a receptionist that is supposed to be the face of the clinic and provide great customer service, this wasn't the case. I received lack of understanding, poor attitude, and rather than empathising and solving the issue or discussing, they just pointed fingers to repeatedly say I was wrong. I consented to sharing my info with the lab and that I may be contacted to pay. Money was not my issue, customer service was. It was my first time having a procedure like this, and it would be nice to just say "by the way, expect to be contacted by the lab", but no. Nothing. Just because I signed the form doesn't mean it is going to happen and a heads up would've been nice. E.g. I can consent to cpr for my child, sure, go ahead if needed. Then after, at least make me aware or let me know? !
Other point, my results were relayed to me, only to tell me its benign don't worry. I paid for histopathology, at least tell me what it was diagnosed as? Not just "don't worry the Dr said it's benign".
Overall, I don't care about the cost but the poor customer serive and vast amount of attitude from the reception ladies.

I just had to look up the phone number to change an appointment for my elderly father and noticed some poor reviews. It prompted me to do a review as my father has received nothing but exceptional care from Dr Almiri and the support team. The nurses and reception team have all been caring and patient with my Dad. Thank you

My doctor requested an urgent appointment with Dr Amiri.
Upon ringing them, I was treated with care and consideration by the member of staff. I explained my situation, and she kindly said there was a waiting list, but she would ask Dr Amiri if he had looked at my referral and would contact me.
That same day, she rang me back and said they had fitted me in within the requested two week time span.
My appointment was yesterday 16/2/23
The two staff members behind the desk were caring and courteous. I filled out the obligatory form, and was seen within 20 minutes.
Dr Amiri was professional and caring. Whilst there, he examined me very carefully, and confirmed my diagnosis was non life threatening and put in place a regular skin check, every year with himself and every year with my doctor, so that way I would be checked every 6 months.
Prior to my appointment, I was quite shocked with the poor reviews that had been posted, mostly quite old (a year or more ago) but a couple more recent. I mentioned this to one of the staff members, and she acknowledged that they did have problems then. They have since addressed all of the issues, have extra staff in place, and everything is running very smoothly which, in my case, I could definitely validate.

Saw one of the female dermatologists at this practice regarding Sun damage concerns. She gave me a very cursory skin check and chemo cream for my face. Her directions for application went well outside the product recommendations by 2-3 weeks and left my face scared and with irreparable pigment changes.
When I contacted her a about this I could only access her through the receptionist unless I chose to come and see her and my concerns were dismissed as"normal". I was advised to continue as directed.
Have since seen another doctor elsewhere who prescribed the same cream to a different area for 2 weeks only (not 6!) With great results and far less initial damage.
Proceed with caution with this practice.

Honestly, the office manager (if there is one) here needs to have a good think about what quality service looks like. This is a review made from years of observation, not a single interaction. Always takes forever to answer the phones, hold times are similar to utility companies, admin staff rarely finalise or see through items of business that are critical to patient outcomes. Lovely and professional nursing staff and Physicians seem good too, so there is potential there.

I thought I was saving time by visiting a practice close by in Newcastle city, but I’ve spent more time on the phone chasing admin than I’ve saved on travel.

$250 for 15 minutes and antibiotic cream prescription when i was there for an extraction but was brushed off (felt like that would have been too much time for the Dr.who barely looked at what i was there for). The only reason it's not 1 star is because the people were friendly and the wait wasn't too long.

I should have listened to all the reviews. One review stated the wait prior to the appointment so I called ahead to see if Dr Relic was running on time and the receptionist stated he was. So I arrived prior to my appointment- as requested. The receptionist are rude for a start, surely your job isn’t that hard that you cannot be polite and put a smile on your face? I had to do a covid test prior - as all appointments must, I completed my RAT test and was left up the back of a hallway in a corner for 20 minutes. I came back to the reception and asked if I could sit out and perhaps take in the view if I was to wait, rudely the receptionist stated someone had to check it, like I was incompetent to check a RAT test, and if you thought I was going to tamper with it why Was I left alone for 20 minutes? Just when I thought it couldn’t get any worse I waited 50 minutes. When I seen Dr Relish about my hair loss, he showed zero empathy and said “no one who doesn’t know you would know you have lost half the amount of your hair” he took a business card from the desk and ran it across my scalp - no joke. I had blood test results with me that I had done prior, he scanned through them and said I had low iron. I explained I’m on iron tablets, but my hole life I’ve had low iron. He then proceeded stating if I had any questions and I said “yeah I would like to know why I’ve lost half my hair” he then said it’s uncommon for women to loose all their hair. He asked if I was stressed, just common questions I’ve had with my Dr.he suggested minoxidil even though everything I’ve read has stated it’s something you will have to be on for the rest of your life and it’s for hereditary hair loss? I honestly was holding back tears, I felt like my appointment I was paying $240 for, that I had been an inconvenience on his day. Zero answers. Zero empathy. There was a student sitting in on my appointment who was lovely, honestly Dr relic could learn a thing or two from her. I would warn everyone away from this place and this Dr!

I have just made an appointment with this clinic and was most impressed with how polite and professional Deanna was. Thank you.

It is always a bit concerning having a skin check due to health history however I was treated with respect and in a very personable way and when a procedure was necessary that was also done so well and with such empathy.

Just got back from my appointment at lotus dermatology. Was a long drive but totally worth it. Got a diagnosis in minutes and a resolution in 2. I’ve been seeing different specialist for the past 10 years and this is the first doctor to do anything about my condition. Cannot recommend enough, Thankyou so much Dr Barret

Absolutely appalling service. Not showing up to appointments, not responding to emails or answering the phone- I am speechless and shocked this business is still running

Can’t comment on appointment as utterly impossible to contact this business by phone. Customer service is atrocious.

Have given up on this lot, I rang them many times, hold hold hold. Ring back still waiting,
So it's a zero for me. Taken my referral elsewhere!

Impossible to get hold of anyone here. I requested an appointment via email over a month ago. I have since tried to call numerous times and requested call backs and not received one. This morning I waited on hold for 33 minutes for them to just cut me off. I’ve sent another email but not feeling hopeful. Looking at other reviews I’ll be best off going back to my GP to refer me elsewhere.

My son had an appointment with a doctor today regarding a skin condition. The doctor was 45 minutes late (with no apology or quick courtesy phone call to come to our appointment later) by which time my 16 month olds patience was gone. We believe that he did not listen to our back story or properly examine our son before providing very basic advice. When we asked for further information, we found that the doctor was rude, condescending and offered no evidence based information. He did not offer a kind ear or empathy for first time parents. After a 10 week wait for the appointment my wife and I left frustrated and $230 worse off. Now we have to start the whole process again to see a different dermatologist and pay more money just to get the support that we should have been provided with today. We would not recommend this clinic to anyone.

Can't comment on any actual service as they were impossible to get hold off, tried 4 times to book an appointment only to sit on hold for over 30 minutes each time, call back service also failed as they didn't return my turn. Will be requesting another referral to a different provider. Ridiculous waste of time.
