Lismore Regional Gallery reviews
29A great array of world class and local exhibitions as well as community events, right in the centre of our town Lismore. Also home to the impressive Hannah Cabinet. As a city girl I really treasure this cultural hub and all it offers. Photos are of 'I weave what I have seen' Afghan war rugs.
I only go here for the Santa photos, as they are cheaper than the square. I haven't ever been into the gallery or eaten at the Cafe there, as art galleries aren't my thing. But the 5 stars are for all the preparation going into the Santa wonderland and the wonderful photograph team, who are very lovely and polite
What a wonderful regional art gallery this is. Friendly volunteers to greet us, interesting exhibitions, a fabulous building, a cafe outside and a lovely quadrangle to relax in. We really enjoyed our quick tour of the gallery!
We met the maker of the Hannah cabinet by chance and it was the most amazing experience to meet such a skilled artist who was so generous with his time showing us the cabinet.
We went to see the cabinet that was bought recently, worth a visit but the presentation was dragged out a bit
So happy the gallery is open.
Beautiful pieces being displayed also the motion activated pieces are amazing
Exceptional mix of artworks and exhibitions from local Indigenous to European Masters.always has a 'wow' factor to surprise and stimulate, never disappointing
Nice new gallery. Good spot but not a lot in there yet.
Hoping for more displays and more diversity. Maybe this will come with time
Lismore has waited a long time for a flexible and functional gallery. We now have a gallery to be proud of.
There are fantastic staff and absolutely awesome are the volunteers. (They welcome volunteers and there are many opportunities of interest)
The diversity of the exhibitions means a pop in will always give you something new. There are talks, wonderful classes and well planned events right through the year.
There is also a fabulous cafe.whiling some time under the shady trees is a few moments of bliss.
Visitors or locals the Lismore Regional Gallery is a gem
Nice coffee downstairs. The gallery advertises a Margaret Olly section, but we saw none of he work on display.
Lismore Regional Art Gallery is a wonderful showcase of Art and Fine Craft Exhibitions for our Local District to enjoy. Being part of the Old High School Complex, The Local Council made a wise decision to renovation and consolidation of the Grounds incorporating a Library in another section.with a grassed Quadrangle in centre. So, in all, Well worth a visit to see the evolving displays.
Some very ordinary, so-called, local works of art!
Although the cabinet, from a local talent, was a show-stopper!
So there I was. Sitting down and I saw a painting. It winked at me I swear. So I winked back and it coaxed me over (I had the urge to just steal it) but I didn't. It told me that in the 1600's it was murdered by a Soldier named Joe. Who's Joe? I dunno. But the painting posessed me and I ended up screaming for 2 seconds because I had a nostalgia trip on wow wow wubzy.
We had a fantastic day at the Lismore regional gallery. Spent hours walking the gallery and finding out about the artists. They had the Archibald portraits entries for last year which was incredible. Also had local children send in their portraits which was a great touch. Great space. Would certainly recommend
There’s always a wonderful surprise here. We knew about Geoff Hannah and his beautiful woodwork and cabinetry but wow we didn’t know he has spurned a whole team of followers.bravo Geoff and all who support this wonderful work!
It's AMAZING. Staff is super friendly, exibitions are amazing, there's a thing for kids where they get to draw their own masterpieces and a really good cafe.
Great regional at gallery. Good coffee. Pleasant quadrangle for outside seating.colouring books and art by quests for the kids.
Friendly staff providing insight and knowledge of the exquisite art on display. Onsight parking and easy access to venue.
Amazing love the 2018 Archies. Completely gob smacked about that Hannah Cabinet. Such a treasure. NOT to be missed. Staff very knowledgeable and informative.
