We went to visit the Lighthouse this month during the school holiday for an obligatory family happy snap. Silly us forgot to make a booking at the Inner Light Tea Rooms and being the busiest hours of the day (late brunch) they were obviously booked out. We were happy to do takeaway but a lovely staff managed to jiggle a few things around so that we could eat in and managed to accommodate 7 of us!

Thank you so much, we will be back again and will remember to book next time!

You pay a little extra for this view, the food is quite tasty and well presented, the coffee was good, my eggs were a bit too over cooked but the service was friendly and efficient- well worth a visit

Gorgeous location, incredible food. The tearoom toastie was probably the best toasted sandwich I hav ever eaten. Coffees were great too. Almost flawless. Only complaint would be the confusing booking, numerous complaints were made about booking methods. If you cannot book on the website please make it clearer you have to pay. Other than that it was wonderful!

The ultimate Hidden Gem
Located overlooking magnificent Shoal Bay, the Tea house cafe is the best. Wonderful food, scones cooked fresh daily and lovely staff. The popularity of the cafe proves the top quality of the food and location. Booking is very much advised.

Should have booked but ended up with takeaways. Was still nice to sit near WWII gun placement and look out over the bay.

Had the burger, was loaded with carrot and beetroot.and sadly to say, a processed meat patty. The only reason I went the burger is due to the fact that they don't serve bacon! At first, I thought it might be a religious thing, but they serve ham. Who the hell has a breakfast menu with no bacon? I noticed they had young staff members, we had an older woman that served us, she had an attitude.maybe she was having a bad day? My wife said that the coffee was good. The view is great.

The food was ok, the servings quite generous and the views gorgeous. The service however wasn't great. When we arrived, the waitress was quite unfriendly and made us feel like we were inconveniencing her by being there. We were then asked to order within moments of sitting down. We requested a few minutes to look at the menu, after which nobody returned for a very long time. Before leaving, we were left standing at the register waiting to pay while a staff member busied herself with the till only to then walk off without ever acknowledging us. Really?

Gorgeous views! Went there for breakfast without a booking and luckily they were able to fit us in as we were there at 8: 30am when it opened. Highly recommended for great ambience & reasonable priced food.

Weekends are very busy at the Lighthouse. You must book if you want to eat there on the the weekend. The car park is grossly under catered for. Our group as well as many many others had to park down the bottom of the hill and huff it up. The top part of the hill being particularly steep and hard for some to do. We did have a lovely brunch. The view is spectacular. The food was very nice. The general staff very nice and helpful. The head wait staff was a bit to authoritarian. They are known for their homemade scones with cream and jam. They are huge. They also have Vegan/Vegetarian meals/desserts available.

Horrible parking options, overpriced basic menu and rude staff. Only thing worthwhile is the view which you can get without entering the cafe.

Stunning views!

However the staff are not especially polite and the menu is quite small.

A fresh modern menu and welcoming team would make this perfect place.

Best views in town! Staff are friendly enough, coffee is good but the food is only ok. My wife's eggs Benedict looked good (only one slice of toast, two would have been better), but the eggs were cold and one was hard.
My chilli scrambled eggs were tasty but micro-wave cooked, so a bit dry and rubbery. Great view, but over-priced food and I did miss the RB.
