Inner Light Tea Rooms reviews
77I would definitely recommend having lunch at this restaurant even though serving portions are giant. I recommend their home made beans and their toastie. Their desserts are something out of a fairytale - the icecream boat was delicious. 10/10 no doubt
Great views. Pitty it was raining lightly. We got great pics. But because of the rain only undercover sitting available. Because of COVID there were not that many tables in the available space due to social eatery distancing, and due to bookings, all tables were taken.
FIRST of all, you're paying for the view. The scrambled eggs are MICROWAVED and rubbery with no taste whatsoever. The chilli and fetta are nice but for god's sake guys.do not serve your eggs out of a microwave. It's cheap n tacky and spoils from the view. 3 stars for the awesome coffee n views. That's it. Oh, and make sure you have a booking as they will ask you upon arrival.
Small place with no many lots available to park, the place need a booking because of the short staff, the lady attitude was abusing. I would NOT recommend this place at all, if you are visiting Nelson Bay/this area, please reply here and I will list some good spots rather than this one!
My partner and I came here for my birthday lunch, which he tried to make special, however the wait staff were very rude from the moment we got there. Incapable of polite communication and they ALL treated us like we were an inconvenience. The service did not get any better and I don’t think we stayed there for more than 30 minutes. The pandemic is not an excuse to treat people appalling, and if it’s so triggering for the owners/waitstaff, maybe close the place down until it’s over? But no, you want the money but hate customers? Make it make sense please. After we left and went to our car, we befriended a lovely family who said they were treated just as badly and that the waitstaff ‘barely tolerated them’ and were very rude. My partner then spoke to a lady on his right and she said she was disgusted by the service as well. So three completely different groups of people who all had the same terrible experience. Great company culture guys! I felt so sorry for the people who were going up there, knowing what they were about to experience. Do better guys, the world does not need this negative energy, and no one is forcing any of your workers to be there, so why should customers have to suffer such rudeness? You just cannot treat people this way anymore, it’s so out dated and gross. You could not pay me to go back.
The Inner Light House overlooking the entrance to Port Stephens offers a spectacular panoramic backdrop to the region. With the headquarters of the NSW search and rescue organisation, tea rooms and maritime museum all in the one location, you may come for the scenic view but will become drawn in with everything at your fingertips. A must see location in the Port Stephens area.
Came here for my daughter’s baby’s gender reveal.service was horrible and the tubby white boy let the balloon with the reveal go, so we didn’t know what the gender was.still waiting for a full refund, not happy.won’t be coming back any time soon.
We have been staying in the area for a few weeks and today decided to visit the tea rooms for a late breakfast, the waitress was very rude and would not allow us to enter & she treated us as if we had Covid 19 after asking us where we were from, she told us to leave, we clearly don’t have Covid and it was embarrassing to say the least, I have never been treated like this before.
In these unprecedented times some manners and education on how to treat customers is needed here, we won’t be coming back and would not recommend this place to anyone.
Enjoyed a lovely breakfast with a stunning view! Staff were friendly - especially when engaged. The eggs Benny was so yum and great coffee.
What a fabulous not-to-be missed experience. We were there on a perfect winter sunny day & the food & servive was just perfect. Well done!
Rude ladies upon arrival, my friend and I were treated like we had COVID. They were not polite and told us to go back to where we are from. Have been up in this area for the last month so clearly not infected. Totally understand the recent restrictions but there was no need to treat us worse then dogs.
This is definitely a place to visit the view is incredible and highly recommend the scones, jam and cream. Coffee is delicious, made with love.
Lunch was disappointing
This is one good place to enjoy your coffee with some cakes watching the ocean and all the hills. They serve breakfast and lunch menus and kid meals too. The people working at this place are extremely welcoming and polite. They are very hospitable. Birds come around looking for those extra cake pieces. Just be mindful not to encourage them as they can come right over your head to the plate and take those tiny pieces away. Overall a very lovely place it is.
They fitted us in for a coffee were plesant however & unfortunately you need to book. We got stuck under a tree not being able to see the spectacular view. The gift shop attached was awesome.
Great place to visit with beautiful views over the Bay. The food was very good and the service friendly. Highly recommend the Inner Light Tea Rooms.
Love coming up here but only when the tourists are not here good food coffee and the view pop in to the volunteers shop before you leave something for everyone
A gorgeous little gem. Beautiful views and the tastiest, juiciest burger Ive been served in a long time. Bonus was that they could accomodate our little dog. Advise booking ahead.
The views from this location are magnificent. The coffee is good and the meals hearty. The tea rooms also share the location with Marine Rescue and a Lighthouse Museum. The road leading to the tea rooms is somewhat narrow and parking is limited. Overall a good place to have a cup of coffee with stunning views.
Great scenic location for either breakfast or lunch overlooking the bay. Service was very quick as staffing was sufficient and proactive. Every table has some kind of view. The menu has enough options to keep everyone satisfied. Price was just a tad dear, although for an occasion it’s worth while.
Parking is somewhat limited as the lookout parking is shared with the tearoom. Worse case just park down the bottom near the boat ramp and it’s a quick stroll up the hill.
Head staff pushy and rude. Junior staff pleasant but looked stressed, probably sick of the authoritarian head lady. Don't blame them, we were only there for half an hour and we were sick of her too. She spoiled the experience.
Two stars for the scone, yummy. We were hoping to have lunch but even though we arrived 45 mins before closing time and only asked for a sandwich, head lady told us to order something light and quick cause she was exhausted and wanting to head home to open a bottle of wine! From the look on her face and tone of her voice we knew she was serious so ordered a scone.
