Hyperactive Gym Byron Bay / Social Remedy reviews
36100% better than any chain gym. Super friendly team and relaxed atmosphere. I hands down recommend social remedy if you are looking for a gym that isn't full of gym bros.
Super friendly staff, great facility's and a top tier community. The team here goes above and beyond to see you reach your training goals what ever they may be. Can't recommend these guy's enough!
Hands down best gym in Byron. Proper equipment, fun classes and friendly staff members (Courtney and Kristal are the best trainers ever walked in Byron soil, and overall legend of human beings)
Social remedy- what can I say. This has been my home gym for the past 2 years in Byron Bay, and man I love it. Such a cosy and welcoming gym with the upmost best staff- so friendly with the biggest smiles, always their to accomodate any questions. The gym itself has such a wide range of equipment in all great shape, with a beautiful community feel. Wouldn’t recommend any other place to get your body and mind in shape!
Such a great gym! The trainers are the best and the classes are amazing especially considering the cost of membership is very reasonable. New upgrades are exciting!
To date Hyperactive has been a pretty chill space to go work out, you always get plenty of room between you and anyone else there. Most of my visits I was literally the only one there and I could push that much harder because I had the overhead speakers playing my music and I could scream out my last couple of reps which was such a liberating and empowering aspect of training there. Sadly the double vax mandate made a lot of people including myself cancel our memberships and to their credit they waived the 4 week contractual notice period and didn't charge me a cent more, for that Hyperactive has earned my respect and loyalty and I'd come back if I wasn't being priced/bullied out of my home by Sydney/Melbourne investors at the moment. I think the gym's sold to some investor too. So the whole place is changing here, quite literally selling out. But maybe it's time for some fresh blood? I'd give the gym a fifth star if it had better amenities, it was all pretty lo-tech which was cool, but only 4star cool ;)
What a great gym. The staff are always warm and friendly. The gym itself is very well laid out with both free weights, machine weights and numerous exercise classes from beginner through to advanced. Say hello to Pete and his lovely staff.
Trained here for a week whilst on holiday. Had all the equipment I needed, and they played Jimi Hendrix on the sound system. Everybody was friendly.
I walked into the gym where I was greeted angrily by a personal trainer, I asked about signing up and he directed me to another section of the gym.
I went to that section, and said hello to a trainer and got yelled at as she was telling me it was females only section.
She demanded who had told me to come to this section, and when I pointed out the trainer and told her that I had simply walked in to have a look at the gym and possibly sign up she told me to sign up online and that I could collect my entry key another time. She wouldn't specify when I could collect my entry key either.
So I'm supposed to be treated like that, pay them money, and wait upon grumpy staff to give me my key another day?
I joined Hyperactive a month ago on a 6 month membership. I made the right choice! Clean, friendly, great classes and value for money. I love that they have lots of different spaces to train. Highly recommended.
Have been going to Hyperactive for couple of years now and wouldn't change gyms at all. Every trainer and member are so lovely and welcoming, All the trainers are there for you with so much support whenever you need.
Great gym, definitely my favourite in Byron having tried a few over the years.
Clean - especially since Covid: you get a cloth and spray to wipe down, everyone is doing their bit
The music - good playlists, heard maybe 2 bad songs out of the last 200, don’t even need headphones.
Equipment - V Good, even got a strong calf raise rack, for days working: Legs - 9/10, Chest - 9/10, Back - 10/10, shoulders 9/10
Probably got the best equipment of any of the non chain gyms
Friendly staff
Hyperactive has it all - amazing classes, knowledgeable and caring staff, fully equipped 24/7 gym and all at an affordable price!
I've have been doing personal training at Hyperactive gym for about 2 years now and I absolutely love it. The gym is so clean, modern and there is heaps of different machines. The team is also super helpful and friendly.
We came up to Byron on holidays and wanted a gym to train at while we were here. The staff at My Own Gym were amazing and set us up with our own 24 hour access code so we could come and go as we please. The gym is fully equipped, bright and has a great vibe. We even got to try a few classes. Very reasonable prices too! Overall a great experience:)
This gym has the lot, experienced and fun trainers, great classes and wonderful atmosphere. Every time I do a class I am reminded about how much you can really challenge yourself with someone cheering you on.
