Edit: I will upload the evidence showing I used this business. Also I confirmed over the phone that Hunter Electrical contractors is a part of Hunter Bathrooms. I have provided evidence through NSW Fair Trading the two companies are linked.

I contacted the company to lodge a complaint regarding a tradesperson who refused to provide me with a receipt. The individual who answered the phone assured me that they would address the matter with the tradesperson and promised to call me back. However, when I offered to provide my contact number, the person became defensive and abruptly ended the call.

The guys at Hunter Bathrooms and Hunter Building renovated our apartment in 2021/2022. The work was extensive including two bathrooms, one laundry, bedroom wardrobes and the Kitchen. MJ kept the trades accountable for their own work, getting them to re-visit the site and remediate if the job they did was not up to his high standard.

We’ve just completed a renovation and choosing to go with Hunter was the best decision we made. The work is impeccable and of high standard and most importantly they worked consistently until the job was complete and were always very prompt. Communication was fantastic with these guys and the job ran smoothly from beginning to end as a result of their management. Can’t recommend them enough!

We are very happy with our new Hunter bathroom!
Natasha's design advice was most helpful and it was so convenient to be able to select everything, in one visit, from their showroom
We had a major problem with leakage to a lower floor and this has been completely rectified. MJ's well organized team of tradespeople were all capable, very polite and pleasant and cleaned up after themselves.
Finally the overall price was reasonable and competitive and the work was carried out without delay, Thank you guys!

MJ and his crew were responsive, professional and honest. His advice helped us make the necessary changes to our design that maximised the space and functionality of our bathroom. I have already recommended Hunter Bathrooms to our family and friends as I know the work will be done to an exceptional level.

“Professionals make it look easy” While it may look easy, what MJ and the team of Hunter Bathrooms produced is nothing short of spectacular. Please look at the photos attached, and note the details;

1.2 perfectly tiled herringbone walls (very unusual in design to say the least, but spectacular in delivery). Perfectly in pattern with all tiles balanced to the smallest detail.

2. Stone floor tiles and walls.

3. Spectacular cabinetry, fixtures and fittings.

4. Beautiful double shower

Note: All materials provided via Hunter Bathrooms

MJ models himself, and the business, on mutual respect. While tradespeople often talk big games it is truly rare to find a company/person who actually delivers above and beyond what we expected.

From MJs first inspection for the quote he gave us the confidence not only he could do the job but do the job the design we wanted. Other builders would say things weren’t possible, or had to be vastly different to what we wanted, but MJ made everything we wanted happen and without fuss.

Rhonda was great in the showroom and gave awesome advice. She has a real eye for style, and pairing elements to give you the look you are after.

Not to mention the showroom is very impressive. It was a real asset to be able to go touch and feel so many different product options.

All of MJs trades were very respectful and always cleaned up after themselves. Always helpful when you asked them silly novice questions or gave them big challenges of requirements.

Everything came up beautifully, and we are so excited about our new bathroom.

MJ is a problem solver. We never had any concerns because he would solve them before we could even think of any!

The en-suite came in under budget, and earlier than scheduled. At the start of this review, I said “professionals make it look easy” Do yourself a favour and use Hunter Bathrooms. Super happy with Hunter Bathrooms. A+

We are experienced renovators and over the last 15 years have renovated a number of bathrooms. When it came time to renovate and extend this bathroom, we found our regular builder was too busy. We had heard of Hunter Bathrooms and as we were very impressed with their website, we decided to give them a call. Fay, the Sales Manager was our first contact and we found ourselves very impressed with her knowledge. We met with MJ the Director and by stroke of luck, they would have time to do the work on our bathroom. We found all their trades were pleasant and respectful and the quality of their work was outstanding. In fact, the quality of the workmanship on our newly finished bathroom, is far superior to any bathroom we have done previously. MJ told us the bathroom and extension would be completed in 4 weeks and it was - right on schedule. Luckily for us Hunter Bathrooms is part of Hunter Building and as we have other projects we wish to do around our home, we will certainly be contacting Hunter Bathrooms.

Thank you MJ and team.
Cheers, Jackie and David

As a first-time renovator, I was daunted by taking on such a large renovation (entire bathroom rebuild, removal of several walls, interior re-rendering, installation of new ceilings, etc.) but MJ, and the whole team at Hunter Building Group, made the process smooth and quick. Communication was always on point, and we had no delays. The project came in on budget and the work has been done to great standard. I really couldn't ask for a better experience. We met with 4 builders before starting the project and MJ was by-far the most straight-forward and knowledgable, and gave us great confidence that we were in safe hands.

The overall experience hiring Hunter Bathrooms was solid. I hired them to do a bathroom and laundry renovation providing labour and some materials (I purchased most of my own).

Overall quality of workmanship was great - and they were quick to touch up the very few minor issues identified. Waterproofing, tiling and installation of fittings all seem to have been done well. One issue was that the contractors they hired to do a professional clean of the apartment did an OK job, however, left some gaps (e.g. They did not clean up dust under the couch and fridge), which I had to go back and do later.

Communication was mostly good - updates were given regularly. Where they had identified some issues, I was notified, and they gave some suggestions and advice for ways to address.

Work initially progressed quite quickly and was done in a timely manner.

Hunter Bathrooms just did a big renovation for us - knocking down internal walls and creating a completely custom open plan kitchen plus a new toilet and laundry. We were working with an old house and tight space in the inner west. MJ and his team were thorough, timely, and in budget. All the joinery, appliances, stone, plumbing, electrical and handy work are at a very high standard and my wife and I are so happy with the result!

I needed to 'fix' an old home unit and ready it for sale in todays market. I sourced 4 quotes to renovate a tired looking (circa 1970's) kitchen and bathroom and Hunter Bathrooms was the only one who showed interest in meeting me to discuss what I wanted. I ended up with 3 quotes with only 2 within budget. Hunters and one other. Hunter Bathroom's personal touch sealed it for me (yes we observed social distancing for Covid safety). I am a very nervous and suspicious person when dealing with tradespeople as there are all sorts out there, but I had no need to worry with Hunter Bathrooms.
In summary the positives.
Quick turn around for quoting including options and kitchen design/layout - make sure when you talk to them you clarify GST inc vs GST excl costings.
A showroom to go and look at most of the inclusions that are available for selection - together with kitchens and bathrooms already made up to look at for further ideas on what to do with your space - you can go from budget friendly choices to some very sophisticated options.
I was lucky and Hunter was ready to start quickly. Your mileage may vary depending on what they have going at the time. My 2 weeks between quote and start was great and when the work was done, the team's clean up was exceptional.
Not all jobs are perfect, while the work was great there were a few minor items that needed correcting after the fact. Nothing was a problem for Hunter as they responded promptly to get things sorted.

Note the only work that Hunter did not do was the rendering of the Kitchen's vermiculate ceiling and the painting of both rooms. I had other vendors do that work due to prior arrangements for rendering the ceiling and painting throughout the entire unit.

They missed out on the 5th star due to some slow administration relating to receipting payments etc. I think there were staff changes going on in the office. All was done but just not as quick as I would have liked.

If ever I had to look at renovations of a kitchen or a bathroom again, Hunter Bathrooms would be one I go back to.

Sales and Design - Natasha's friendly, talented, understood perfectly what we wanted, gave good advice and didn't try to over-sell.
Project boss - Shady delivered exactly what he promised, when there were external issues beyond his control he adapted the schedule around them
Trades crew - powerhouses! They turned up as arranged, usually 7am, fantastic attention to detail, perfect handover at each stage. Also, friendly, tidy, and communicative

Result - better than dreamed
Value for money - awesome

We bought a 15yo apartment that had spent its life as a rental property, to live in. The ensuite needed everything between the walls replaced and the main bathroom needed converting from having a half-screened shower over built in bath 1.2m long, + a massively wasteful laundry room to a large freestanding shower, a 1.8m clawfoot cast iron bath, and a stacked laundry in a cupboard.

I posted on HiPages at 06: 45 and Natasha made contact at 7am. She came out, made an assessment and took our requirements, provided a proposal and a quote before another builder could make time to come out, and for a significantly more attractive price than a 3rd company.

Ensuite was done in 2 days; I wasn't able to be there the day the install was done, so Nathan made a time to come back later to ensure the wall fixtures would be exactly where we wanted them.

Strata approval of main bathroom held up the process by about 6months, and before the works started in March, the Covid lockdown had commenced.

Shady assured us that if we were happy to start it, he would get it done; we were happy knowing there would be a max of 3 workers in at a time, and that they were all employees not subcontractors, and only working on domestic jobs.

The chippies found that the existing wall framing was substandard, and before I got home they had already substantially reinforced it. I held my breath for a bill add on that didn't come.

The bath got held up by TNT for 4 days because they didn't think they could deliver it to the door; Shady rejigged the schedule and with 6 hours notice made sure the team were onsite to get the 200kg bath safely negotiated thru some very tight corners.

The gyprock and the tiling guys seemed to have a competition as to who could work the fastest and the best. KoKo had the hardest job - the walls were so bent, but the tiling job he did was nothing short of superb.

Once the custom laundry cabinet was installed I thought that the bath was not going to fit. I couldn't watch as the team got it in. For once there were a few choice words audible, but of course all was fine. 8mm clearance to the shower screen, and 6mm to the laundry. Bravo all!

The job was scheduled to take 31 days, and on day 29 all that needed to be done was uncapping the pipes and hooking up the tap when a bit of a disaster struck; the cold water isolation valve into the apartment died when Nathan went to turn it off. I wasn't surprised, the tempering valve had died within a month of the kitchen install - another legacy of the cost cutting developers. No sweat, just arrange with the building manager to isolate the water to the block for half an hour. That took 22 days for the building manager to get that done. Nothing Shady or I could do about it - tho I think he was all for coming in at 2am and turning it off himself to get the job done.

22 days and 3.5 hours later, isolation valve replaced, new taps in, laundry all hooked up and we bid goodbye to Nathan and his sidekick.

Still the middle of the work day, too busy to have a bath, so put on a load of laundry. 20 mins later walk past and notice quite a lot of water. Nathan was back within the hour, dismantled laundry and diagnosed a blocked pipe.

Took a couple of attempts, with 2 different blasters, and a hole cut in the hallway wall, but all sorted, and the hall patched and painted, and can't tell it was even done.

Despite some significant unforeseen work, the quote was honoured 100%

One regret: We didn't get them to do our kitchen as well

Thank you so much to Shady, Natasha, Coco and all the tradesmen at Hunter Bathrooms. You were all so lovely to work with. We were dreading the inconvenience of installing a new bathroom, let alone the worry of doing it during COVID. The whole installation moved continually, and the only time we didn't have trades in was while the waterproofing was drying.

We were lucky to have such a clever and patient tiler. Each of our feature wall tiles were individual triangle hand made pieces. So it was a little bit like a jenga puzzle for him to put them all together. What a rockstar. I love that wall! You all went above and beyond and a very courteous and friendly team. A million thanks, we love our new bathroom!

From “go to whoa, ” the full renovation of my en-suite & main bathroom by Hunter Bathrooms took precisely 13 days!

Natasha was my initial contact-she was delightful & super easy to work with. Natasha discussed & guided me through the bathroom designs. She paid attention to my needs & was very experienced and organised in the way she took me through this process.

Once I had all the bathrooms details & selections finalised - plus the contract signed; MJ took charge of the renovation from demolition to sign-off.

I got to know MJ during the time we worked together. I called him “action man, ” because he worked tirelessly & made things happen. He also told me several times: “I deliver what I promise. ” And yes, he did.

My renovation experience has been a very positive one. One of the hallmarks of Hunter Bathrooms was they kept me well informed and engaged throughout the process. And when any hiccups or unexpected issues surfaced (there were a few minor ones only), MJ would discuss with me, suggest solutions & rectify.

I have found all the tradesmen who worked on my renovation to be well-qualified, reliable, courteous and tidy. They were a pleasure to work with and most importantly, I had confidence that they would do my job well.

I am delighted that not only were my bathrooms completed ahead of schedule; but the quality is outstanding. I have received many compliments from family & friends; and I would highly recommend Hunter bathrooms to anyone contemplating a home renovation project.
