I went to the branch two times they and still have not sorted out my ID verification. 1st time they asked for my passport but I only had driver licence with me. 2nd time I have both documents and yet somehow they forgot to scan my driver licence so they ask me to come to the branch again. Each time I need to wait an hour. What a joke!

There were not many people at 3pm on a weekday, so we had to wait for about 15 minutes. English, Cantonese and Chinese service support available

If it wasn't for the money laundering HSBC was found guilty of, i don't know how they make money

they provide zero value or service

Cannot recommend. On more than one occasion I have experienced HSBC's online banking processes fall flat, at which point they ask you to visit a branch. Big waste of time.

The staff is extremely unfriendly, completely contrary to the impression of hsbc in Hong Kong

Similar experiences to others here. I was told by HSBC uk that I can go to an Australian branch to unlock my account after my app updated and kicked me out. Was laughed at by counter lady and rejected when asking for help regarding this.

HSBC Australia is operating separately from HSBC Hong Kong and the customer experience i had was total disaster and waited for about one hour to be served, then the serving staff finally came told me go home and call the hotlinebto fix my problems! Was worst than 1980s China, the staff were not customer oriented but care to keep troubles out of their hands all the time only. Yes customers were treated as 'troubles' from observed as half dozen of walked in customers got rejected instead of being understood and cared for.

Never in my life, i had a bank worker be this rude to me. I had 3 min in an out transaction. She dismissed me stating everything is appointment. There is no empty slot today, she said i shouldn't even wait.

Terrible experience i had, total waste of time

The way she spoke is, very poor English, very rigid and rude. This is a no go branch. Perhaps the whole bank is.

When I came on Wednesday I was greeted by a man who helped me to connect with one of the staff to open the bank. He helped me to get prepared of everything that I needed. He was really nice.

After waiting for 15-17min another lady showed up (Monica). She was really nice to us despite that I was in hurry. Thank you‍️

One star is too good for this branch. I visit other and simply walk in do my banking and leave but cringe of the thought of entering HSBC Haymarket. Never have I encountered a bank as HSBC Haymarket that don’t like taking your money. You wait for the staff to serve you, only when other more import task have completed other than banking but that only the beginning you them attempt deposit cash and the interrogation begins, what the deposit for? “ we need to know why you are depositing into this account”Do you have ID? “Why do I need ID I’m depositing “all you need to know is It is a cash deposit and if you wish for me to fill out a deposit slip with my name and contact details I will provide them. Upon refusing to present ID and an explanation of why I am depositing the manger is called and the whole process is repeated with no explanation as to why that is required. It was like banking in Communist China. Finally cash is accepted and to my amazement a third employee passes by speaking in foreign language followed with an exchange of grins to fellow team members though English was the spoken language in Australia. Pathetic HSBC Haymarket your reviews and 1.7 rating says it all, will never set foot in that branch again. Have notified account holder of my experience stick to the Professional staff at Bondi Junction.

My phone has been hacked so I cancelled all of my online banking. Therefore I asked if there's any services to transfer money to a different account. The customer service officer laughed at me when I didn't want to set up online banking and even made fun of me to other customers (in Cantonese)

It's okay to say it doesn't work but you don't have to make fun of me

Waiting over 45 minutes so far at 11am on a Monday morning to transfer money from one bank account to another. The staff show no urgency in relation to helping customers swiftly. They just seem to be busy walking about slowly and not facing or helping customers. There is no indication as to where you are in the queue either. You are just told to wait without any indication of time frame. If you are looking for fast and efficient service then do not come to this branch.

Unhelpful staff who barely know the services and products their bank offers. Staff communication skill is not the greatest either.

Hike up your interest rate when you refinance out. Horrible experience with the bank. Unhelpful client relationship manager. Zero response when you contact the bank. DO NOT RECOMMEND

Poor customer service. Premier customer. No interest in solving my HSBC created problem. No solution. No alternatives. No sympathy. Just told to eat bitter and go away.

Not very helpful at all. Teller refused digital ID as form of identification! I would strongly recommend that HSBC reviews their business procedures. While you're at it, please update your online banking and mobile apps! They are sub-1 Star as well.

Terrible customer service, staff have no idea what they are doing. Cash machines run by a separate company and the two don't talk directly to one another.
Paid in $2000 into the ATM at the branch, money was swallowed but didn't show in account. Basically it took 6 weeks and multiple calls and visits in branch to chase this up. Each time it was like they had forgotten about the issue and had to start from scratch. At one point they couldn't find any trace of the money.

Worst bank in Australia! To get your money back you would have to pay them a fee for telegraphic money transfer otherwise they would hold your money for 3 working days before increasing your limit so you could transfer it yourself via online banking. Call centre is useless. The only thing they can do is "to send an email to a relevant team".
