To All trades, local businesses & clients of @hipages,
This is a word of warning as a multiple small business owner. This is not a typical review of mine as I usually prefer to only highlight businesses or places that I would recommend or have enjoyed visiting.
However, after breaking my leg in July 2019, I have been trying to cancel my contract with Hipages. I was told that I couldn't cancel midway during a contract and would be able to cancel once the contract was up. I completely understand this as I don't mind paying for a service if I am using it, but was disappointed as I was injured, not working and no longer using their services. Hipages did advise that if I was able to provide a doctors letter that I would be able to receive a special consideration and have my contract terminated early. I sent in all the relevant documents proving I was injured and not working however I never received any responses or calls returned regarding this. Although disappointed, I decided to contact them closer to the end of my contract.
In April 2020,2 months before my contract was up, I contacted hipages to get the ball rolling on the cancellation process. I was told by one of the success team members that my contract was now cancelled and would not be automatically renewed. To my disappointment, they did not cancel my contract, were increasingly more difficult to get a hold of and continued to direct debit my account, even though I asked them multiple times to stop which they agreed to.
It has now been 18 months since I have worked and used hipages. They still continue to try and take money out each month to this day resulting in my need to cancel my credit card, and putting in a claim with my bank to chase up a refund.
I will no longer use or recommend Hipages as i feel that their focus is not supporting small trades & local businesses but rather lining their own pockets. Customers beware.

NEVER use HiPages - these people are as bad as the people they list/recommend. No checks are done on the people they advertise for, their listed trades simply need an ABN, no other checks are completed. What's worse if when their tradespeople act in a fraudulent manner, HiPages don't bother letting any of the open jobs know about the illegal activity (this happened to someone else whilst my job was open). Caroline, one of their 'managers' simply wanted to argue that they go through a due process, spoke over the top of me and utterly dismissed my issues. Their lack of transparency, customer service and advice over the situation is appalling. The tradesperson I hired directly through their site has disappeared off the face of the earth and stolen close the $3k in doing so. HiPages could not care less.

Contact a local tradie instead of go through these over-inflated middle men who neither care for the customer or for the service that they so called provide to either party.

My small business was completely scammed by this company. The make it impossible for you to cancel your account. We tried to cancel WITHIN (it was less than 24 hours) the cooling off period and they wouldn't let me or refund the money. As many other of reviewers have said, it's impossible to get hold of anyone there who can actually help you - they just say they'll call you back and never do. So disappointing and so much money down the drain for the mistake of signing up with them.

Very compromised and biased in resolving issues regarding unprofessional attitudes of businesses registered under them. Someone shows up and rips you off without notice or due process, insults you with vulgar and rude languages, you report to hipages and they are biased and hopeless, encouraging these businesses to treat customers without respect and decorum.

Really good place to start looking for a job around house. The website is very easy to navigate and communication is superb. Bear in mind though that not all tradesmen who will contact you are of the same quality.

Hired 5 star builder for bathroom renovation, turned out to be 1 star - arrogance, negligence and had no idea what bathroom renovation is. All good reviews are for demolishing, but I was seeking for bathroom renovations job, not demolishing.

All other trades were not top quality as well despite good feedbacks. Don’t be taken in by hipages ratings.

I will never use HiPages again. I sourced a tradesman through their site who did a terrible job and damaged my property. I complained to Hipages who did nothing. I then took the tradesman to NCAT and the judge ordered compensation in my favour. Hi pages then still did nothing and will continue to allow and support this tradesman to operate through their site. Hi Pages are completely incompotent.

Further to your request for a review of hi pages and my reply recently, I would like to add that JMC Tiler and Handyman has responded to my request for a tiler and that there was a phone communication problem which has now been fixed. I am happy to have this tiler do my job. I withdraw my poor report on hi pages. I am now satisfied. My initial review reply was to do with other job requests in the past, when no replies were received.

Its a SCAM app and scam team.
Don't go to this trap.
This app not good for tradies with qualifications and licences.
Change your credit card detail otherwise they take money out without notifying you.

Everyone must Be careful of this Hi Page.
They sign you into this as a one month FREE trial, then they ask you to come on board for 6 month only for $97. Once they got the credit card detail, they keep debiting from your account as unauthorized act.
Its a scam and you better to stay away this app.

Absolute scammers. The 'tradesman' are using other companies licence numbers and are unqualified. This site needs to be much better regulated and until then, should be shut down

They are scammers.
I feel the jobs posted are fake.
I request the jobs info and they are gone way to quick.
Then when you do get the info you pay for it and is hard to contact them.
They are difficult and I've tried to cancel my membership and they don't.
I resorted to cancelling my credit card.
Run away from them.

We were more than happy with the whole process with Hipages. After filling in the very easy form as to what we required we had a tradie ring us within 10 minutes. We sent him a photo of the job and he quoted and came over and the job was completed within a couple of hours of me first making contact with Hipages. The tradie was very professional and reasonable rates. Will definitely use Hipages next time we need a trade.

We are an architectural firm - this company is a joke. Put you on an automatic renewal system, so we have waited that out for 3 years and now that it is time to renew again have been trying to cancel the subscription for a month and told the cancellation was in the process of being complete but still nothing!

Hipages team would have to have the worst costomer service ive experianced in my time. They will take your money with out blinking and refuse to give it back with out a fight. Poor form Hipages!

Cleaning gutters is not easy, it is better to call the expert. I recommend Elbow Grease Gutter Cleaning. Dean Cheeseman is a good and honest worker.

I wanted to completely renovate my bathroom, toilet and ensuite and got 3 people out to quote within a week. The business I chose, T&A builders, are proving to be reliable, efficient and professional in all areas.

Great service for the public, found all the tradies I needed all with a push of a button. Thank you hipages for your service.

Bad bad bad they rip you off. There’s more websites that are much cheaper and much better and with no contract.
