Highly recommend this school. What a great way for children to get in touch with and control their bodies, get physical exercise and understand the gentle but purposeful discipline of learning a martial art. My child loves attending so much. We have introduced family and friends to the school and they love it too. The school and classes are professionally run. Nathan, Karina and the excellent team of instructors are fabulous. They teach in a way to break down the move sequences in smaller absorbable chunks, they make the learning process extremely fun and empowering for children and they cater for all abilities. The other important element is ensuring children are focussed during class - they give the children the opportunity to correct behaviour that is counterproductive to the learning environment a couple of times. Once the child has been made aware of the behaviour but is unable to modulate a change in themselves, they are gently asked to sit to the side and observe. This is enough to bring the child back to understanding what they are there to do. They were also incredibly supportive of students and their families during Covid lock down by way of the provision of a wealth of video content to keep the practice going. They offer complimentary trial classes so take them up on the offer - you and your children wont regret it!

Whether it's fitness, physical exercise, or core martial arts, the team at Head Kung Fu Academy in Caringbah are amazing. With a son who's spent the last 2 years training here, he has developed an understanding of fitness and focus and a love for Kung Fu. The team also make it fun for the children, with games and jokes to keep them entertained. You would be hard pressed to find a better school for your children if you were looking to introduce them to martial arts.

My son & I both train at Head Academy Kung Fu and I can safely say that we love it.

Head Academy has given us the opportunity to learn a traditional Martial Art like Kung Fu and realise that you can get fit, have fun and be surrounded by positive people that make you feel like you're a part of the family.

I highly recommend Head Academy to everyone, whether you're 5 or 95 there is something there for you.

My wife started us off, joined shortly by my teenage son and then I couldn't resist any longer. The family friendly atmosphere at Head Academy has brought my family together with a common (and slightly competitive) interest. Kung Fu has made me a more flexible and healthy person which now allows me to keep up with my baby son when we're playing. I look forward to baby Jack joining the rest of the family as students of Sifu Nathan Head. I highly recommend Jow Gar Kung Fu to anybody who wants a healthy lifestyle for both body and mind.

Kung Fu has given me depth in the physical and spiritual realm beyond initial expectations. This school has really hit off a new chain of events in my life which doesn't seem to stop firing. The people are so random and broader in experience and misadventure then any common cool commands and the odd nicety makes for curious conclusions. This new path has room for infinite stepping stones so walk where others have flown admiring a garden grew and grown it's from yourself the centre is thrown work with and find the gift you own. The limits are your discipline and the eternal fight is won within. Clarity is control and the control commands.

I have found Head Academy Kung Fu to be the ideal training as I prepare myself for the zombie apocalypse. I have been trained in a variety of weapons to quietly deal with zombies as well as the hand forms for when I find myself unarmed.

In the event that the zombie apocalypse does not occur in my lifetime, my time will not have been wasted because the side affects of my training have included increased fitness, flexibility and balance as well as weight loss. All this while still being great fun. The skills learned are not only of use in a zombie apocalypse, they are also able to to be applied in more mundane self-defense scenarios.

The way Sifu and all his instructors treat their students and the way they conduct the classes is from my point of view perfect. Simply put, I felt welcome, had a ton of fun and learned a lot pretty quickly. Always felt comfortable to ask for advice if I didn’t get stuff and never felt intimidated or anything. Everyone (the more senior students included) was positive, helpful and ready to help, which adds to the teaching potential of every class. Head Academy is a family that will teach you a lot on both physical and a mental level.
Kudos for what you have achieved Nathan, this is really something to be admired.

Okay so I began kung fu about a year and a half ago and have loved it ever since, the instructors are always willing to help out and everyone here is heaps patient with eachother which is great. When I started i must confess i had doubts about the authenticity of Kung fu it looked cool but would it work and amazingly it does i mean Sifu Nathan teaches you how to do all the techniques in the forms in real life sparring and self defence situations. You're practically Bruce Lee at this point. But honestly I highly recommend this place to anyone because it's kept me hooked and I'm a guy the shortest attention span you'll ever meet but yeah truly a great place and the best thing is Sifu will even help you with issues outside of kung fu and still offer great advice yeah this place rocks honestly there should be an option for more than 5 stars
P.s your flexibility and fitness will improve dramatically no more sweaty gyms now: D
