Harvey Norman Port Macquarie reviews
44Yuck yuck yuck. I was really shocked by the condescending attitude and snarkiness of a shop assistant during a recent purchase. I checked online and the item I wanted was listed as in-stock at the Port Macquaire store. When I got there the only one left was a display unit. I wasn't that keen to buy one that had been on display, but then I was offered a much better price than the listed price. After paying I remembered to enquire about the remote control. The assistant told me that this particular model did not come with a remote. I checked the listing on my phone, and found that in fact, it did. The assistant shrugged and suggested that as I had been given a better price I shouldn't really expect one. I thought I was offered a better price because it was a display item, not because it was missing a remote. I really needed the item, so decided to let it go. But the dismissiveness of the assistant was awful, and made me feel terrible for even asking about the remote. First, he was rude, second he was wrong, and third, he just got ruder. I understand that sometimes people are having a tough day, or a tough time. I get that, I work in a service environment as well. But if you are feeling that lousy, stay away form work, take a break. Aaron Palmer, maybe you could practice being kinder to customers - it might make you feel better about yourself. If there was an option to leave zero stars, I would. I won't be shopping at Harvey Norman again.
Big store, especially the furniture section. Usual range of stuff in electrical section. We bought a Macbook there. The staff seemed a bit put out when I mentioned to them that there were songs playing profanity on one of the display speakers. I'm no shrinking violet but when you've got young kids in tow and rap songs belting out c- and f-bombs, it's not a real good look.
Bought x2 TV's for Xmas presents. Sales person Dallas helped us out and did a great deal for us. Service with a smile. Thank you
Firstly, I would like to give credit to Katrina, a lovely staff member in the Photo Centre at the Harvey Norman Port Macquarie store.
My husband & I had come strait from another photo business where after spending two hrs with bad service & little help we walked out without any photo prints at all.
Katrina was a breath of fresh air, with her calm & positive nature. She stayed with us after explaining the process to guid us through. A few hiccups occurred during the time Katrina went to lunch where two male assistants attended to us.
Returning from her lunch break Katrina seeing us still there, again worked with us to achieve our desired results.
We feel, having come from a customer service background that Katrina went well above what one would expect.
And we would hope that management acknowledges & rewards Katrina gor her commitment to her customer service. She was fantastic.
Kind regards
Cynthia & Ross Allan

Horrible purchasing experience. Oven came broken. Took ages to replace. Not so much as an apology from a single person. Never again.
Avoid the flooring department at all costs! The man claiming to be the manager, THREW our flooring packages into the back of our ute. They were bent over and unstacked in our car. When my husband made a comment about the possible damage, the man threatened to "put you on the ground". He was swearing and aggressive and clearly not wanting to be at work that day. We have bought 000's of dollars of flooring from here before, but we will NEVER buy from them again. Such a shame because the staff in the sales department (especially Tracey) are great. However, we will not be giving this rude man any more of our money (or time). I did lodge a complaint on line and received an automated reply saying that they would contact me within 24 hours. Tracey was the only one to ring and it was not in relation to my complaint. NEVER AGAIN.
Disappointed with last visit. Electrical I purchased an item from the specials bin near the register and it scanned full price. Staff said special had ended 5 days prior. Did not honour the sign price as it had an end date in smallish writing at the bottom. I got a refund as it was a substantial price difference. Everything else was still top notch as usual though.
Sometimes the staff are like seagulls yes lol but if you have the money and want something asap they help pretty quick
Went to get a phone for nan and Jordan in technology was a big help in what our options where in buying and all the information we needed!
Regular go to place for some furniture and electrical. They will match most prices. Staff are helpful but sometimes a bit pushy. Always ask for best price.
I purchased a great sound system from Zac on Boxing Day. His level of knowledge and patience shown to me was simply outstanding. He also introduced my Wife to Bobby from I. T.from whom she purchased a HP laptop.
I can only testify for the electrical appliances department, as there I make all my relevant purchases. Great variety, very knowledgeable stuff, not pushy and keen to help. Headed by Scott I am at ease they always listen, and if a rare problem occurs, Scott and the crew are eager to solve the issue no matter what. Simon
Since transferring to Port M.last year, HN was one of two shops where we mostly bought our furnitures. Most of the staff are quite friendly and accommodating, always ready to provide answers to one's queries. The waiting time was quite long but given the current situation, it is understandable and they do set the right expectations for the delivery.
We also just purchased some electrical products recently and by the time we paid, we were surprised to learn we got a couple of discounts. What a pleasant surprise!
Nothing is ever a problem for the staff at Harvey Norman, a special thank you to Lani in the bedding dept, That went above and beyond to make sure that my wife and myself were looked after in a most professional and friendly way.
Just purchased a Fisher and Paykel washer. Prompt delivery. Driver pointed out a slight dent on side of washer. Offered a replacement washer next day, or, 10 per cent discount. Discount hassle free. Efficient instal and remove old washer.
Excellent service provided by James, phone department! Great listener, plain English explanations, accommodating and most of all, professional manners!
Spent almost $30,000 with Harvey Norman Port Macquarie. When I got delivery there were items missing despite me ordering weeks ahead of the needed date and all my items being in stock. Items were also damaged, scratched and chipped. This wouldn't have been too big of an issue except I still haven't received my items, I've been stuff around, no one is calling me back and I feel as though no one is prioritising my order despite spending so much money. Everything was booked in for delivery and a particular person cancelled that delivery as it was an inconvenience to potentially have to make more than one delivery. I'm due to receive my items almost 2 weeks after the agreed date and have been massively inconvenienced by people unable to do their jobs properly. I won't be going back and certainly will not be giving them a cent more of my hard earned money.
Both purchases I have made in the last 6 weeks were assisted by very helpful and knowledgeable staff. Definwould recommend. I ended up going to Harvey Norman as my first port of call in JB Hi Fi was extremely unsatisfactory.
Major discount shop that sells white goods and telly's, computers, beds and furniture. Crystal was a very friendly and helpfull staff member.
12 months ago i gave Harvey Norman a 5 out of 5.
NOW i cannot give it the same rating. I haven't had a TV since the flood in Dunbogan. 3 weeks later i was bought a TV Online. And paid for the delivery. It was delivered on time.but the guys in the truck were concerned, because it had a rattle from the box. Upon opening i could see the box had been opened. (i thought Quality Assurance. Making sure everything was in box) Nope! Went to set tv up on stand, but No, screws. Rang the office 4 times thru the day wanting to know what was happening. Are you going to deliver or should i drive the 40kms to pick up screws. Getting late so i thought to set up tv as was. Connected everything & it didnt work at all. Another phone call to tell them i will be bringing this one back for a replacement. Because they couldnt tell me when they would be able to deliver another. Exchanged TV's the following morning. The new TV WAS NEW! It had everything in box and wrapped up tightly, coverings on everything. Was very dissapointed with the way things were handled & dealt with. So much, for paying for delivery.
