Hare & Forbes MachineryHouse reviews
31 Great staff,
Good range,
Good Quality too,
Previously spent a lot of time looking for a 16mm Drill Chuck Key, and this was the one place that actually had it after wasting so much time going to other places that claimed to have it but the maximum size they had was 12mm.
Today i found myself here to have a look at the bench vices, and they had what i need for a later date so im sorted.
Unfortunately a waste of time, low stock levels and no longer cater for specialised supplies like incremental sizes or number drill bits.
A brilliant company with outstanding staff. They are very helpful and offer very friendly service.
I never ever dealt with more helpful and professional staff. These guys are the best, seriously. AND, what a range of machinery. I will be a regular customer for sure now that I know that they have a field service team, AND, most of their equipment goes through thorough testing prior to delivery.now how many companies can offer that?
Supper happy when they want to sell you something but bend you over when its time to support their product.
Machinery is vast and some great tools, but after sales service is a joke. They would rather sell you another machine then Chase up spare parts. Just be carefull what you buy. Try to ask for a list of spare parts they have for the machine you buy otherwise it could be a very expensive buy.and if they try to convince you that they can order the part in for you, they will.but you will certainty pay for it, my part is worth the price of a new machine.it's only 12 months old
P.s I forgot to mention, part shipping was free but have to wait over 6 months. This is Just a warning to small businesses that rely on these tools and when they break they'll loose money because H&F don't keep parts in stock and machine can't be used.or pay over $500 for a 16kg part to come in within 1.5 months, it's flat and doesn't take up much room.
Disappointing to go to a warehouse and be served by a guy who’s personal hygiene was pathetic. And be given the wrong order
You are only as good as your trade partners and Vellex, the carrier assigned to deliver my goods is useless. A docket with an almost unintelligible phone number scrawled across it in the letter box - no indication of a missed delivery. My phone number on docket is not mine. My instructions to leave at house rear ignored. A rude kiwi cow who took my partners phone call. Big fail people and I won’t be back
Needs a dramatic overhaul in warehouse staff. I went there and the guys that loaded my car at the warehouse were obviously intoxicated. One gentleman smelt of marijuana. I have a daughter who’s a recovering from a drug addiction so it was not a pleasant experience. Products were above average
No customer service. Ordered a number of items, along with two others in our woodworking class, with next day delivery. After two days order still showed up on website as step 1, Confirmed with no email or phone call for any verification, etc. Rang to follow up, told that they were holding it and other two on suspicion of fraud. No apology for trapping legitimate customers, blamed us for making “fraudulent looking orders”! Said was ordinary that we had paid for express delivery and not received it, they could not care, said they would put in post today and we would see it when we see it, then hung up on me, while I was explaining that it was not good enough, and they were trapping legitimate customers with there fraud procedures who were unlikely to return. The only fraud appears to be them taking money for items and delivery, and not sending?
I work for a company that has literally spent hundreds of thousands of dollars on machinery and and equipment off this business. The service is the worst I have ever came across. Equipment regularly turns up damaged or broken, is often difficult to organise a replacement. Machinery is of the poorest quality and is always breaking and often can't get parts because they are discontinued (even after only a few years) or they have to come from China and you are down a machine for months at a time. We will be avoiding at all cost purchasing anything else from Hare and Forbes
