Gunnebah is an exceptional place run by highly qualified, dedicated and extraordinary people. It is a place where recovery is truly made possible with a multitude of tried and true methods. The environment is utterly safe, non judgmental and beautiful. The facilities are amazing and the food delicious and nourishing. I’m forever grateful to Gunnebah for enabling me to change and move to a blessed new chapter in my life.

In my experience there the other people were very bullying. The program did not suit my lifestyle. The councillors seemed to just try and sell the place and that was the opinion of a few of us in there at the time.

The group sessions were great
But you need a good group of people.

Also if you are in the room next to the Dr's office you can here everything.

It's too expensive for what you get

Went to Gunnebah carrying an 11 year addiction with me. 3 of those years in recovery trying to gather tools to beat it. I left Gunnebah after 28 days feeling like a completely new person.
Gunnebah gave me more tools to beat my addiction in 28 days than I had managed to gather myself on 3 years!
This place is all honesty, magic!
The vibe there is amazing! It’s like a learning to do life clean holiday!
Seriously, I had given up hope of ever being clean, and thought I was destined to be stuck in addiction for the rest of my life!
My mum suggested Gunnebah, and it’s a life changing choice that I made to go! I feel more empowered and happy within myself than I have ever been and feel like addiction will soon become a distant memory for myself!

What an absolutely incredible place, from the staff to the facilities to the therapists and activities. This place saved my life, Warwick is an incredible man. It has the right amount of balance between therapy, education, fitness and activities while treating you as an adult preparing you for the real world. The food is incredible, restaurant quality. After battling my addiction for many years and trying numerous places Gunnebah was truly what every rehab should be like. They don’t Medicate, instead they educate. The support is phenomenal. When asked what I would change to improve the place, my answer was nothing at all, I cannot fault Gunnebah and I can only say thank you for giving me a second chance at life. Don’t let the location steer you away from a new life, if you need to travel here do it as the travel is nothing compared to what this place has to offer. My new life began at Gunnebah. Thank you

The treatment program offered at Gunnebah focus on empowering you with spirituality, mindset and physical wellbeing. You will get a personalised treatment plan that takes into account your specific life circumstances that relate to your addiction. The therapists are so fantastic and have really helped me to work through my mental health issues and addiction.
Gunnebah is a private and secluded addiction rehab facility with relaxing views of the mountains, animals, It also has a sauna and pool along with the activities and Therapy classes.
The staff at Gunnebah are extremely warm, welcoming and non-Judgmental. They have an excellent treatment program that really has worked for me. This combined with the support of your peer group makes the process of recovery less daunting and more achievable.
After 28 days there I feel refreshed and ready to continue with the changes and new mindset I have made with my addiction.

If I could give more than 5 stars I would. Gunnebah is not your ordinary rehab retreat, it is a whole new world. Had a very delicate situation with a family member, and Warwick and the team were absolutely amazing. From the first call to them, to my family members last day at Gunnebah, and even after, we are beyond grateful for everything you have done for us. There isn't enough space in this review to sufficiently express my gratitude. You saved one of my family members lives and you reignited a person into their true self. Gunnebah are real, real people, real processes, real care. This isn't your tick box clinic, the best I can say, is don't hesitate - just one email or a phone call is all it takes. Once there, you will understand why Gunnebah is so highly rated. Thank you to all of the team. Each person has been astronomical in helping my family member and also helping me during the difficulties and adversities therein. This place was my second attempt at rehab and it was a unique experience compared to a clinical rehab. Staff and community were friendly and helpful with anything, the food is amazing and the serenity of the place was special. Would highly recommend for those that want to change their lives. It changed mine.

When I entered Gunnebah my mother had just died from alcoholism. I was determined not to follow her path. And boy is this the place to heal. The facility, the staff, the guests, it felt like home immediately. I’m 30 days sober and my health physically and emotionally has changed my life. When I entered Gunnebah in September 2022, I was empty, broken and helpless. After years on end of substance abuse and self destructive behaviour I had finally come to the realisation that something needed to change. I could not keep living like that anymore. The first few weeks of my 3 month stay were personally rough. But with the help of the AMAZING staff I was able to gently peel back the layers of my past and really examine and rewire my behaviour to set me up for the amazing life of recovery that I now live. The level of compassion, empathy and pure care is next level at Gunnebah. Every staff member goes above and beyond to accommodate the guests emotional and physical needs in a responsible and trauma informed way thereby resulting in my personal success in recovery to this day. Without Gunnebah I would be not be here today, living my life in recovery. I cannot recommend it enough. They literally helped me change my life!

This experience was the most life changing event in my life, it saved my life! The team made me feel supported in my time of my life that I thought the world was against me. I can’t recommend Gunnebah more highly.

My time at Gunnebah was amazing the things I have learnt and experienced was life changing. The program is such an awesome program the staff and facilities are amazing being situated in one of the most beautiful spots I couldn't ask for much more. Gunnebah is such a caring, respectful and we'll run addiction centre, A very well thought out program that was tailored to my needs through activities, group and individual sessions. The food is amazing and the staff are legendary. If your in need of a facility like this then I highly recommend making the phone call.

Prior to entering Gunnebah my life was spiralling out of control. Leaving my family in a position that they had been discussing filing a missing persons report in the final days of destruction I was causing during my active addiction. I was unable to see what life could look like in sobriety and I didn’t have the tools or mental strength to pull myself out of this slump that after years and years had became my norm. Then I did the 90 day programme at Gunnebah…

The transformation and lust for life that I have gained from these 90 days has literally left me speechless. I have learnt so much from my time at Gunnebah and with my tool box bursting at the seams and my new perspective on life, this high far outweighs the highs I was relentlessly trying to pursue from drugs, alcohol and gambling.

Gunnebah is set on an amazing piece of land that I connected with instantly. All the staff from the therapy team, admin, on-site GP, chefs, doggies, groundskeepers right through to the director are absolutely lovely and very skilled and professional at what they do. They literally saved my life. The programme that they run is incredibly well thought out. Combining fitness, art and mindfulness with off-site outings and so much more that helped me redevelop a passion for life that I previously thought was impossible.

Gunnebah was my circuit breaker and I’ll be forever grateful and thankful to my family for allowing me this opportunity to better myself and to my individual therapist and the entire community (staff and residents) for supporting me and being a part of this shift in my journey

The idea of rehabilitation can seem very daunting – terrifying even – which was my impression before stepping foot into Gunnebah. However, the minute I arrived I was greeted warmly by staff (and the resident dogs), shown to my comfortable room, and did not look back.

Gunnebah offers a holistic experience, with a program encompassing therapies, nutrition, well-being, fitness, education, and much more. The well qualified staff, facilities and environment were amazing in helping to navigate my addiction and its root causes. What was to be a four week stay extended into six. I could have easily stayed for more had I not been bursting at the seams with positive anticipation, ready to tackle my new life equipped with tools, a new-found confidence and appreciation for life.

Aside from the structure of mandatory activities (such as daily check-ins, and individual and group therapy sessions), there is plenty of time to allow you the freedom for self-reflection and exploration. The property and surrounds are some of the most beautiful that the Northern Rivers of NSW has to offer, and the hospitality is second to none. I felt safe, understood and not judged, and along with my now sobriety, these are the best takeaways from my Gunnebah experience.
