Goulburn Rail Heritage Centre reviews
31Such an amazing place. For only $10 entry we got a private tour for over an hour. I would have paid more if I had known that. So much history there with steam trains, carriages and locomotives over 100 years old. Let alone the round house with is also over 100 years old. Not a place for kids but worth a trip from Sydney to spend a couple of hours there.
Old Style railway museum. Old trains and tools for repairing them. A living museum as steam locomotives are still overhauled here.
The highlight was being able to climb inside and under many of the locos and carriages. My tip: wear study rubber soled shoes! These will help you to navigate the ladders and steps as you explore the old trains.
Only down side is the centre is a bit thin on interruptive content. This left me often wondering what I was looking at and why it might be of historical importance.
Remember cash only!
Also great toilets!
Amazing tour by Stan, he was awesome and very knowledgeable in terms of years and mechanical things in Train. Its is worth going specially the end if the tour was so amzing, brings back the past memories, great fun for kids, i rekon tbis place, ONLY CASH accepted, opens till 2pm, moreover, if you do not have cash atms in markets are nearby.

A great place to visit, staff are very welcoming and have a great knowledge of rail history. Perfect for a day out with the family.
Great piece of railway history. The tours are guided and the guides know the history as they are former workers. The restoration projects are impressive. Well worth stopping in if your in the area. 3 to 4 hours should be long enough.
Didn't get to go around as they don't have efpos and was only driving through so really there carpark was my rest stop
Very interesting. It was great to get to see the underneath of a steam train. Volunteers were very friendly and knowledgeable.
I wasn’t really sure what to expect but it turned out to be really wonderful. One of the best pit stops when driving to Canberra. Take the tour and hear all the details. They let you right up into the trains and under some of them to see how they work.
Loved it especially the mail sorting carriage. Never seen one before. The museum is a credit to everyone who works there.
