Fitness Playground Newtown

Great gym, plenty of quality equipment and friendly staff there to help if needed. I also really enjoy the classes, particularly Monday athletica classes with Tristen!

Solid gym overall. The classes are a really good way to add additional fitness routines and come included in your gym membership + you get access to the other locations (loads of classes to choose from for a variety of fitness levels and goals).

Has definitely built up its membership base following the renovations but the atmosphere still remains a positive and polite one, if you can get in a little earlier or don’t mind going later it’s always a little less chaotic.

Good lineup of coaches available too. I’d always say do some research and look who they have on their website to see who sounds like the right fit and be detailed with your goals.

Staple of the gym is James. Really nice guy and very friendly, along with the other staff I’ve spoken with.

Nice toilets/showers for the most too if needing to head to work or a function after.

Rarely see the tripods and cameras setup with people filming themselves etc, so you don’t need to worry about that either if it’s a concern.

Only other feedback i would have is to get broken equipment / maintenance done faster and sort out the difference in weight between the update and downstairs machines ;)

Fantastic experience at One Playground Newtown! What a club - great facilities, fun classes with all sorts of options and friendly staff. Will be going whenever I'm in the area!

A really welcoming culture. Great staff, huge, three convenient locations, tonnes of classes and MUCH cheaper than you’d think. The yoga classes are excellent too, which is rare for a gym.

Wow! What a fantastic gym. I stayed for a month in Newtown (great short term packages) and visited the gym daily The instructors in all the classes are really excellent and well-trained. And the variety of classes are the best! Thanks to James for signing me up.

Only looks nice and fancy for Instagram. The place is not practical at all. It was much better before the place was renovated

I'm really impressed with the One Playground Newton facility: the equipment is impeccably maintained, the staff are friendly and attentive, and the gym is varied enough to cater for all types of gym-goers. Thoroughly recommended!

Love the gym it’s super clean and nice equipment. Shoutout to James always going above and beyond to help out the community.

A gym for insta posing, not serious workouts.
For a long time was the ugly duckling of the Fitness Playground family. Has had a reported $4m refurb but the entity of the budget seems to have been spend on mirrors, lights and paint. Probably one of the poorest equipped and laid out gyms I’ve been to. Other gyms in the area offer better value for money, better equipment and in the case of some even saunas and spas for less than a ‘One Playground’ membership

Nothing can be better than this set up, professional equipments, huge spaces and amazing staffs!

All but a facade! Members are just $/number. Large classes catering to a few. Waiting for injury to happen. Staff/Instructors are nice/friendly and can only do so much. Equipment are not maintained.

The fact that Fair Trading processed my order means that it was correct.

Dont do increasing the price without agreement.

Amazing experience from making enquiries on the phone to experiencing the class! Special thanks to James for being welcoming and providing personalised advice and assistance to a work out beginner. Anfernee on the phone was also very helpful. Facilities are well appointed, will definitely recommend this gym to others!:)

Love Fitness Playground Newtown. They offer a wide variety of classes which I really enjoy and all the instructors take their time to show you the correct way of doing things. So many machines and lots of area's to work out in if you don't do classes:).

Bought a 10 pack here since I’m from interstate. Great facility with plenty of space and equipment. Lots of classes to choose from, really friendly and helpful front desk team and great vibe overall.
Definitely would come back again when I’m back in Sydney

Fitness playground Best gym i've ever been.the place is always clean, the atmosphere, classes is excellent.i loved it and friendly staff and my Trainer, Danny is amazing, helps me achieve my goal and i can see my results. Highly recommended!

Love love love FP Newtown! Great variety of equipment and classes, spacious layout, with knowledgeable, motivating and passionate staff. I've become so much fitter and stronger since joining. If you haven't already joined, check out their free trial - you won't be disappointed!

It’s overpriced yet extremely overcrowded and i’m not
sure why the other reviews are good, also very hard to cancel.

The two things that keep me going back to FP Newtown are: (1) the gym is kept clean; and
(2) the atmosphere is relaxed.

The equipment is varied and in good condition. The staff and members are always helpful and polite.

My suggestions (1) change the water fountain filters more often and (2) turn off the air conditioning and fans in the upstairs studio (with the heavy bag). They appear to operate even when the gym is closed.

Aside from that, I highly recommend FP Newtown.
