Fitness First Mosman Platinum reviews
58It's clean however abit crowded. If you looking for motivations for cardio training, take a cycling class with Andrew there, an ex rowing champion:)
Staff go above and beyond to make sure I feel welcomed and at home. Amazing facility, not sure what the bad reviews are about. My only real criticism is the congestion around peak hour, but that's a minor annoyance. The bathrooms are immaculate, will be trying the steam room on my next visit ~
Customer service is not the best here. They hire some of the worst instructors at mosman FF. But also have some really good ones. Generally speaking, the class quality at Balgowlah, Chatswood, Dee why are better than Mosman. You have to try it to know, big difference between different instructors for the same class. The place looks nice after reno, but also became really crowded now. Hard to get a spot or equipment at times.
Happens everytime. Today wa too much. Had to wait 45 mins to get hand on a cable crossover. Tried to alternate with bench fly. Then the bench was not empty either. Hey a bigger space or charge less
They have continued to deduct membership payments for months even though an email and phone discussion took place to cancel the membership (out of contract). I’ve done all the right things now I am expected to jump through hoops to get my money back. Nothing is platinum about this gym, and a renovation won’t change the fact that customer service is not important all they want is $$$$. Why is this business able to get away with this behaviour.
Upper level is tight with PT and group activities competing for space. The Trainers are making the best of it but members will get tired of bumping into eachother and having to wait for equipment.
Do not become a member, their terms when cancelling memberships make you pay more to cancel, when you call them they blame on head office policies. This is second time under two managements the same thing has happened. Best to pay as you go or go to different gym.
Swipe pass never works. No new member orientation. No new member fitness program. Just left to your own devices. Promise you can get out of 12 month contract then can't. Sux
I have been working out at Mosman Fitness First over the past year.
I am also a regular at Market Street Sydney.
There are pro's and cons for both.
- I have found the staff at reception always welcoming at both locations
- The PT's on the floor are not pushy at all (city PT's can get a bit pushy if you let them)
- It's a fairly decent size gym with 3 levels (unlike the city which is smaller in comparison)
- Some of the exercise equipment (such as the arc trainer, rowers, elliptical) are starting to look tired and could do with a refresh (unlike the city which has had a recent upgrade).
- There are plenty of weights to go around at both locations
- Weekends in the morning can get very busy at Mosman but the vibe is great
- The female bathroom is generally clean and tidy and I love how the steam room is private and connected inside the female bathroom (unlike the city steam roomsauna which is shared communally among male and females)
- Free local council parking is also close by so that's an added bonus.
Overall a great gym which has the potential to be even better.
Rude staff at the front desk. Very hard to get into small group classes! As in getting a spot. Almost impossible. Not very organised.
FF in Bondi and City are 5* in comparison
I had a three month membership here, and went all the time for a month before realising I just wasn't a gym person, and prefer exercising outdoors instead. The classes were good but always busy, as were the machines. The place was very clean and well maintained though, with friendly staff as usual at most Fitness First gyms.
Its easy to cancel you membership after 12mths, all you have to do is book an appointment with the Customer Care Manager a month prior to cancelling and you will be fine
Big gym with a vast choice of different machines. However I still think the price is way to high.
Make sure you take any agreement, they ask you to sign for membership, away and read it carefully before signing. As they say the devil is in the detail. Getting out of a membership with FF, even after your 1st 12 months has run its course, is incredibly difficult, almost impossible. If you are thinking of a gym in the CBD or Lower North Shore there are far more "terms" friendly operators around the CBD and Lower North Shore than this bunch.
Rude Staff i agree, i would love to offer them a job at my company and show them what customer service means. Customer makes your business and don't forget bad customer service means you will lose your job one day.
First time I have ever been to a fitness first center where all staff and PT'S are very friendly and each and everyone of them took the time to say hello and made me feel welcomed.
How do you get away with calling this a 'PLATINUM' fitness first.
There is nothing platinum about it.
It is tiny, crowded and seriously lacking in weights and machines.
The whole platinum thing is a joke.
Good gym, aweful contract terms.
I need to terminate my gym contract cause my new unit has gym facilities but the contract doesnt let me and i am stuck. If you want to go with them, make sure you sign short term contracts!
