It is not an over large museum but well presented and detailed information. Well worth visiting.
Very well run establishment with plenty of items of interest especially the F111 on static display. Very impressive.
Our family spent nearly two hours here.
Nice staffs and great experience.
Highly recommend.
Kids were actually very interested in this museum. Great to get up close to an F111 and learn some history.
Wonderful to see an F111 in front of you and be able to touch it. The tour was informative and the aircraft could be explored, great experience
Fantastic way to spend an hour or two. The volunteers do a great job looking after a great collection of plans and history.
They would sell more shirts if they showed the back.
You can get up close to the planes. Its very well kept and laid out for a take your time look back in history.
Great museum
Volunteers are very knowledgeable and you can tell they love what they are doing.
Amazing to see an f111 up close and get into the cockpit and touch the controls
Family loved this!
Simon was a wealth of information and great with our boys who thoroughly enjoyed!
Very interesting and loved seeing the F111 especially along with the MIG 15, Carabou and many others. The electric Canberra Bomber was great as they were able to sit in the cockpit!
Thank you Dave for showing us all around the Carabou and outside.
Worth taking the kids, cadets or any plane enthusiasts.
Great to see up close some aircraft and engines and learn some history. Staff very friendly. Price was good.
The F111 museum in Evans Head is a fantastic aviation museum that has a wide range of military aircraft on display. The centre piece of course is a lovingly restored F111, but many other aircraft from different eras are also on display. I especially liked that adults and kids can enter some of the exhibits and experience the sometimes cramped conditions inside old military aircraft, to get a sense of all the buttons, dials and instruments. Our four year old daughter loved the Caribou!
The museum also offers information panels, specs, history and other interesting items that relate to the aircraft, RAAF history and the Evans Head Aerodrome.
The museum is run entirely by knowledgeable and kind volunteers and we were lucky enough to get a tour of the F111 with Joel who used to work on this type in the RAAF. He has a wealth of knowledge and many interesting anecdotes to tell about this plane. Definitely visit here when you're in the area!
A fantastic museum with so much to see and do. Cockpit tour with Joel was great and highly recommended. Inexpensive entry and friendly, accommodating and knowledgeable
Amazing experience for aviation and history buffs. Highly recommend the F111 cockpit experience, these guys know their stuff. Thanks to the amazing volunteers for making it possible.
For a small admission fee it's worth a visit just to see the F111.
The museum provides information about the WW2 airstrip that was stationed at Evans Heads.
There are a couple of military aircraft see and for a fee you can have a guided tour or a photo in the F111.
Really interesting exhibits and the kids got to sit inside the air intakes of the F1-11. The volunteer guides are friendly and knowledgeable - the salt of the Earth. This region has had a tough time after the floods this year, wishing them a swift recovery
Great spot to visit with the kids. Reasonably priced (rare these days) & the gents were very friendly and chatty.
Small but great display of aircraft and ancillary equipment. Staff of volunteers are great people.
