What an amazing place! Dropped into one of their open classes while in Sydney. Beautiful yoga studio, everyone super friendly and welcoming. Really enjoy the yoga class taught by Prudence Rose. Hope to be back soon:). Thank you so much!

Had an awesome flow in this mornings class, with the great incorpation of the harmonium, which i have not seen in any studio so far in Australia. If i lived around this area, i would be a regular

Love my Sunday morning hot power sessions. They set the tone for the week. Live stream sessions are also a great option. I’m not a local but make the effort to attend. All are so welcoming and friendly.

If you ask me to pay 55$ I expect a warm room. The speaker were not enough and the sound was terrible.

Never again.

I had a terrible experience. I uber my way to class in Rozelle from Glebe to make the 9: 30 class and was 7 mins late. I had asked if I could go in and was told they had a strict 5min policy. Then I said I will have to wait till the next class at 12. I had nowhere to go, as I was living and working on a yacht. I had gone through a traumatic time with work and had come to yoga to meditate and bliss out, hence why I had said I have/want to stay till the next class. I was then told I was not allowed to stay in the area as no-one was in reception (it came across rude, and a patron noticed and looked at me slightly shocked). What I thought was that, I could of helped them out in some way, behind the toilet door lies a poster that explains if you help out there and work you get free yoga classes. I am not one to write a review, but I was disgusted at the way I was treated as a yoga studio!

I have been a loyal yogi, enjoying yoga, the cafe and bringing friends to the Egg for many years. I am disappointed my multi-pass is valid for a limited amount of time. I've had this challenge for many years now, with many multi-passes becoming invalid on me. Considering it's a poultry saving compared to buying each class individually perhaps I should have learnt my lesson. I understand Egg is a business and needs to make money yet this feels like you're robbing me. Sadly, it's left a bad vibe in my practise and I won't be back.

I never write reviews, especially negative ones, but I have never dealt with a more arrogant customer service staff in my life and I am writing this because I wouldn't wish this sort of treatment on anyone.

TLDR-

If you don't want to read the below, just know this, I experienced a disgusting customer service experience with one of the yoga staff here. She was condescending, rude and then reversed an expiry extension I had already confirmed with another staff as an abuse of authority.

-

For context, my partner and I bought 20 class passes (+10 bonus passes) each for the yoga studio in rozelle, due to covid, these were understandably extended to April 2022. Our online account with them ALSO reflected this. It was confirmed, expiry was in April 2022 for all remaining classes.

Fast forward to last week (Feb 2022), I was having trouble booking classes so I called them up and dealt with the most rude, gaslighting employee I have ever had the bad luck of crossing.

The staff member, who refused to give me her name (red flag), said that it wasn't true that my classes were extended until April 2022 and that they in fact expired in Jan 2022. I repeated that based on a phone call I had months earlier PLUS the online account I was looking straight at as we spoke both said 'Expiry: April 2022', she denied this and claimed I cannot understand. When in fact, she could not understand me. How can you deny facts?

She claimed she will not take responsibility over previous conversations I had with other staff and that she had no responsibility over their website and what it states. This is just wrong.

How can you say your customers could not rely on information pertaining to their actual online accounts with you?

If you cannot rely on your own website and client accounts then why have them?

If you are not aligned with your staff and/or official professional website, that is not my issue, as you claimed it was. That is yours.

She told me to go take it up with mindbody online because it's simply not her problem. She also implied that she didn't think I could even finish the classes. She retorted that I hadn't been in since March 2021 and that's why she'll refuse the extension I had ALREADY secured? She didn't understand that we had been planning to go in 3 days a week until finished in which case I would have certainly bought more passes anyway.

She was condescending and treated me like a child and then blamed it due to the fact she is british that she treats customers this way? Who blames their nationality on how they treat people? If you are a rude person, you are rude. End of story. Don't blame a whole other nation of people on your behaviour.

I have dealt with terrific, amazing, warm, hospitable british nationals and I refuse to believe that you being British is an excuse of your revolting customer service.

In the end, you lost two decent, hardworking paying customers who looked forward to returning to yoga due to your internal errors.

You stole our classes, our money but in return you are losing more than you stole from us because we will never step foot again in your business.

In the end, it doesn't come down to the classes we lost but more importantly the utmost disrespectful and unethical behaviour you showed towards us.

You can take what I say with a grain of salt and give me a sassy response, but we have all been customers one way or another and even to the rude woman on the phone I dealt with, I wouldn't even wish your own treatment of me on yourself.

Came here from a recommendation but the service was below average - I asked for help as I didn’t have access to the all day many through the QR code and was cut off by a lady and when I asked for some help! I was on my lunch break and I tried for 15min to order food but had to leave without nothing. Very frustrated!

I started going to the Rozelle cafe and yoga studio many years ago and love love love the amazing healthy food, people and atmosphere of this and their new space. The owners have created such a wholesome community and service - including educational talks on urban gardens etc.their commitment to their community and passion for delivering optimal health is something to be admired. Yet they deliver it in such a down to earth, easy and warm way. Thanks Briony and Harry, amazing job!

The girl working at reception (American accent, arm tattoo, reddish hair) has probably one of the most pitifully repugnant and vile attitudes I’ve ever come across behind any reception desk I’ve encountered. It’s a truly hilarious experience reading the reviews of this place making it out to be some wholesome spiritual loving nirvana when such a nasty and miserable soul is the front face of your business, and completely shaped my perception of this studio/cafe upon first arrival.
Safe to say I will never, ever spend a dime here and I’ll encourage all my friends and acquaintances in the Balmain area to follow suit. Train this person better, she has some nerve talking down to paying customers when she’s 30+ still sitting behind a front desk.

Edit - to respond to the 'response from the owner', it's pretty jarring that you can essentially accuse me of dispelling a falsehood in my original review when there would literally be CCTV footage of the interaction (and the person that you claim doesn't exist), as well as my ability to provide the exact time/date I was there, which could then be corroborated with your own system to see who was shifted at that time. I spoke to the manager of your South Eveleigh studio who was polite, kind, understanding and thorough, a far cry from your very mature response which essentially aims to frame my review as a complete falsehood.

Don’t compare vax mandates to segregation and discrimination! Completely offensive to actually marginalized communities

One of my favourite places to feel held, nourished and included. My hope is that more spaces open up to mirror the ethical and nourishment values that the team at EOTU have. Thank you for getting up everyday to make your spaces available for us to mingle and be inspired ️

I have been visiting the Egg for many years now. Both the studios and cafe. One of the first ethical cafes I found in Sydney. The staff are always super helpful and friendly. I can’t wait to go back to Sydney and enjoy their menu again.

Loving this place! Having only recently discovered it via thier online yoga offering and then more recently discovering some amazingly good wholefoods served with a smile. Coffee is organic, not my be-all-and-end-all but they make it really well. Little marionette I'm told by the barista.
Smothies and not a run of the mill drinks menu is worth the drive now Im allowed out of my 5km zone!
