Dr Yanni Sergides

I highly recommend Dr Yanni Sergides. He is an extremely skilled surgeon with a friendly, professional & confidence inspiring personality.
Throughout 2022 I suffered unrelenting neck & shoulder pain with numbness in my forearms. Even worse, I was losing range of movement & strength in my arms, being a T4 paraplegic already this was threatening my independence in even the most basic of life’s tasks.
Luckily I was referred to Dr Sergides who preformed an Anterior Cervical Disectomy & Fusion in Jan 2023. I woke in recovery with NO pain at all and with fully restored range of movement and feeling in my arms. You could not wipe the smile off my face. Dr Sergides technique meant an easy pain free recovery which was the icing on the cake.

I can only give the most positive, glowing recommendation for Dr Sergides. He was thoughtful, thorough and careful in his diagnosis of my condition, and was conscientious, kind and caring when he visited me in the hospital the morning after my surgery, and when he followed up with me a few weeks later. The surgery that I had went unbelievably smoothly (I am sure a testament to Dr Sergides' skill and experience), it did not hurt at all, and now I (at age 68) I am right back into strenuous physical activity - running, cycling, kayaking, long walks, 100% normal. And this is from a person who was in so much pain I was stuck in a chair for 2 months, I couldn't walk 5 steps. Also the care at North Shore Private was off the charts excellent. So if you are considering consulting a neurosurgeon or having surgery, I have only the highest praise for Dr Sergides! You can feel completely comfortable placing your trust in him.

I have had 13 surgeries on my spine without any success it got to the stage I was in massive pain and bent forward so bad that I couldn't walk or lay in a bed.
I seen a number of Neurosurgeon's about the situation I was in and all of them told it
was to difficult to operate on me and that I would have to live with the way I was.
Then I was given Dr Yanni's name so I made a appointment and seen Yanni. He was unbelievable with information and he said he could operate and straighten me up but it would be a very difficult procedure so I agreed to have him operate on me.
I was in Hospital for only 12 day's and I walked out that Hospital straight and without pain.
Dr Yanni is a amazing surgeon, if I had known he in the first place I would have had only one surgery instead of 13 prior to Dr Yanni. I now live a normal life and he operated on me only this year 3/3/22.
Please people that have spinal problems I would absolutely recommend Yanni. He is such a lovely man and one surgeon way in front of every other surgeon

Doctor Sergides performed a spinal fusion on my teenage daughter 5 months ago, in October 2021.

A trauma to cervical disc caused continuous severe pain and numbness in my upper left body for years. The symptoms worsened over the years and finally I had no option but to decide on having an ACDF procedure.

I am so thankful and grateful to Dr Sergides for my successful 10/11 hour thoracic spine surgery in April 2021 which many surgeons do not perform. After seeing 4 other surgeons, he was really my last hope to alleviate my symptoms of a numb and burning leg. He made me feel at ease from the beginning as he explained the seriousness of my condition (compressed spinal cord) and that surgery was my only option. He gave me the confidence I needed to proceed with surgery which I had avoided for over 2 years. Post operation recovery went smoothly and after a few months my symptoms were gone and I was back to walking as normal. Highly recommend Dr Sergides.

My mother and I would like to thank Dr Sergides for successfully alleviating the effects of a disc compressing her spinal cord. Her mobility has significantly improved and we understand further degenerative effects have largely been mitigated. I cannot recommend Dr Sergides enough. I saw 3 other so called specialists and the lot of them refused me surgery. I suffered with much anxiety through this time. Dr Sergides put me at ease immediately and said he would be able to successfully perform surgery. I felt positive and comfortable in his capable hands. I hesitated to undergo a major lumber fusion surgery for many years. Excruciating pains and zero quality of life forced me to consult Dr Yanni Sergides. He listened. He patiently answered all my questions prior & after the surgery no matter how many I had. And with compassion.
As I have a history of thrombophilia, prophylactically he insisted to insert IVC Filter 2 days prior the surgery. This saved my life because when the vascular surgeon wanted to remove the filter they found clots in it. I have now hope in the future and gaining full mobility and quality of life again and that is thanks to the expertise and dedication of Dr Yanni Sergides. Furthermore, I am free of pain.
