Dorrigo Rainforest Centre reviews
52Lovely cafe, gift shop, facilities and an amazing sky walk which you can see all the way to the ocean. Great walks leaving from the rainforest center too.
Very nice place, the staff are great and informative. The trails are beautiful and the lookout is fabulous! Some of the trails were closed but they said they were improving them so hopefully back open soon. Plenty of parking and easy to get to. The cafe looked nice but we didn't have anything there, maybe next time.
Great walks, views, lovely gift shop with cafe. Great place for tourists, or locals with plenty of picnic places.
Great place to visit while at Dorrigo. Really nice unique products in the shop. Sky walk is definitely worth a look and donation to enter is great. Heaps of walks to do there also.
Nice detour, but they used to sell geodes and fossils a good ten years ago, now its very gift shoppy and healing crystalley. Doesn't exactly promote wildlife education when its got junk like that.
Beautiful place.recommend the Crystal Shower Falls walk.you would think you are in the Daintree without the heat and humidity?
The staff and rangers at Dorrigo NP are incredible! They are so kind, and go out of their way to help you. Particular shout out to two of the ladies working there last Saturday afternoon! I didn't catch their names but they saved us from finding ourselves bogged at Platypus Flats Campground! The centre is amazing as well and they truly put in a great effort maintaining the amazing tracks that surround, one of the best national parks I've ever been to!
Best rainforest centre. Awesome visit. Friendly staff. Limited parking. Plan ahead on weekends and public holidays.
View from the skywalk was beautiful! The sky walk is very accessible as well. No stairs and even walk to spectacular views!
Such a great pram friendly rainforest with great trails leading to waterfall.loved the skywalk with awesome view & great cafe to have lunch or coffee.
Awesome place to visit. 6.6km track only took an easy 1.5hrs with tonnes of photo opportunities. Highly recommended for everyone.
Interesting place to visit! Try the sky walk and explore the extensive network of trails and waterfalls around the rainforest. The Rainforest Centre has a range of interesting locally made products and the cafe is great for lunch or refreshments.
Really great little discovery centre, with circuit walks (approx 2 hrs) and rainforest canopy lookout. Parking is easy. The discovery centre is informative and has a good café for food and drinks and souvenir shop. You can learn a lot from the displays and some local art is on sale as well. The walks have waterfalls along them and meanders around both big and small trees and rainforest shrub. Information boards a long the route. Well shaded mostly with some benches. We saw lots of great birds and insects and a big Lyrebird was our highlight. Toilets are clean and there is are some picnic spots close by as well. It has everything and is well worth a visit.
Saw a red belly.
Enjoyed an amazing rain forest and waterfalls. Highly recommended family hike
Super organised park, with nice and mostly accessible walks. We dis the circuit walk from the centre to the waterfalls and back through a different track and it took us around 2h total in a fast pace. We also enjoyed the centre shop, there are some nice and different things to buy as presents especially if you have family overseas.
The Dorrigo Rainforest Centre is the National Parks & Wildlife building where you start you walk into the Dorrigo National Park - including the Crystal Showers Falls and the Wonga Walk to the Tristania Falls. There is a cafe located at the Dorrigo Rainforest Centre. The shop at the Dorrigo Rainforest Centre sells memorabilia. The Skywalk Lookout is located only metres from the rear door at the Dorrigo Rainforest Centre. There's plenty of off street parking at the Dorrigo Rainforest Centre. Picnic tables are located at the park to the east of the Dorrigo Rainforest Centre.
Great rainforest. The rainforest centre has lots of interesting souvenirs, such as jams, hand creams, handkerchiefs, towels. The souvenirs typically were made from local or native ingredients and materials. The walking track starts at the rainforest centre, you can also park your car here for free. There are maps available at the centre so you can plan your walk for the day. Highly recommend the walking tracks, lots of lovely waterfalls to see!
Great visitor centre, really informative.
Make sure you watch the video in the new gallery room which shows you amazing footage of the world you’re about to step into.
Lovely and helpful staff. The falls walls are fantastic, slightly hilly - it’s all on a solid path, so should be doable for most. Both waterfalls are lovely and I really enjoyed the number of signs you had telling me how I could distinctively identify each tree and their native uses and significance. I also loved how you shared the native and European histories intermittently throughout and often many plants had a native and European uses. I
Left the centre feeling inspired, interested and informed.
Dorrigo Rainforest Centre can be found at the main Dorrigo entrance. They have a large array of items for purchase.chocolates, bags, jewellry, candles, books etc. Alot of indigenous items as well which is great to see. They also have an info area that you can stop and listen/view.
A wonderful NPWS office and very informative. The walks here are very accessible and some of th emost beautiful in Australia! Gosh I hope this area survives the bushfire season.
