Darlinghurst Theatre Company reviews
41Great venue for intimate shows. Saw BAnofee perform a wonderful show given the circumstances. Hopefully one of many more to come.
I’d never been to the DTC before; never even new it existed. The venue is perfect! Not so big as to make it in-personal but big enough to get a decent audience size whilst still remaining close.
Lights, sound, and hosting is on point; as is crowd control for safe entry and exit points per COVID safety protocols.
The DTC is very close to Oxford Street and I’m sure it’s very popular for Darlinghurst locals.
Looking forward to experiencing more great gigs at the DTC!
Great to see the adaptation for these Covid-19 times. Have had wonderful service from Jacqueline in booking in to the Cabaret and in addressing the group's dietary requirements. I hope the show is as good as the service so far
Loved it, wonderful night such great entertainment from The remarkable "Hans the German" such a gifted performer and star.loved the theatre and the crowd was right into him, which always makes it better,
Wow! I saw "Once" here on the weekend and what an amazing production. This venue is full of character and was perfect for this production. Very well organised and laid out - felt right at home.
I recently discovered this gem of a theatre. Only 200 seats and fabulous auditorium with a great programme.
An intimate theatre where every seat is a great seat. The foyer area is modern and spacious for the size of the theatre. Love the stained glass windows which are kept in character of the buildings heritage. Friendly fast service at the bar. The production of Once that we saw was world class. Cant wait to catch another production there. A gem of a performance space.
The Darlinghurst Theatre Company is a beautiful old theatre with a very contemporary interior. The facilities inside are modern and fresh. The foyer is quite large and has a cool bar where you can purchase alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks and snacks. The theatre itself is not very big but the seats are very spacious and comfortable.

Had a wonderful night last night for Torch Song Trilogy the cast and venue are fantastic. So why only 3 stars? Who ever is in charge of keeping the bar and food side stocked YOU need to get it right!
The nicest and most effective communication team I have ever had to talk to when booking tickets. They were patient, kind and informative. Thank you for your professionalism and wonderful personalities.
Fab! We attended to see a preview of a new play: The Sound of Waiting. The play was very well produced. The actors took to their roles with an intensity that rests in live theatre over any other presentation form. The visual effects were superb and the theatre carries the sound very well. The building is very neat and the seats were comfortable.
We just saw Silent Night. Fabulous venue and one of the funniest shows I have seen in a very long time. Brilliant
Saw a terrific production of 'A Life in Theatre' by David Mamet. Performers John Gaden and Akos Armont and director Helen Dallimore.
Absolutely fantastic! I have been to multiple performances here and the place is very special to my partner and I (first official date!). I have yet to have a bad experience and it is so convenient to some of the best cafe/restaurants in town. The atmosphere is fantastic and the value for money is great.
Gorgeous historical building.
The stage is smaller but has a very intimate feel. I loved the play I was there for and would come back again.
Awesome little theatre tucked away off hustle of Oxford St. Really modern interior with an inviting bar, whilst the theatre upstairs is cosy and comfortable. Unfortunately didn't really like the play but the venue is top notch!
This theatre is beautiful! Welcoming bar with amazing modern wood panel stepped ceiling.
You head upstairs to the raked, end stage theatre with a full lighting grid abover accessible my high tension wire mesh.
The seats are very comfortable and I could hear every word of the play.
I loved it so much I'm considering becoming a subscriber.
A beautiful theatre for an awesome show. We came for The Mystery of Love and Sex and we enjoyed both the show and the atmosphere of this place. The staff was very friendly and helpful from the start to the end, engaging and enthusiastic. An excellent example of great customer service. I would definitely go back in the future for various plays.
The Mystery of Love and Sex. A play about relationships, in which confessed secrets confront people to see who they really are inside. The title prompted me to look for an answer, but there really is no formula to love, is there?
Written by Bathsheba Doran, on stage at

I particularly like the use of lighting, from cold unidirectional spotlight to the gentle warming up to this coziness, great music too.
