Darlinghurst Theatre Company reviews
41Great theatre for 2023 performance of Natasha, Pierre & the Great Comet of 1812. Great cast, audience experience and staff, thanks for a great night
A hidden treasure. I had never been to this theatre before and it is lovely. It is small but with great seats and a lovely lounge in front serving drinks. My wife said her cocktail was actually strong which is rare these days. The show we saw about Bette Midler was incredibly good. We will surely be back!
Great theatre with lovely foyer space. Really enjoy seeing shows at this venue. Every seat has a great view and the venue is easy to access with stairs and lift.
Absolutely mind blowing show! Raw, honest, transparent and deeply emotive, moving your deepest empathic feelings in your soul! To stand and share as richly as this cast does in the face of constant discrimination and public scrutiny is truly inspirational and humbling. Thank you. Best event of the Mardi Gras/World Pride!
Intimate and classy theatre in a hip part of Darlinghurst. Looking to catch another show there soon.
Awesome little theatre! Love the decor and intimate feel. Saw a performance of Once here and it was unforgettable.
Love this intimate theatre, have seen a few stage shows here and the experience is always great.
I enjoy the intimate nature of theatre and the Darlinghurst Theatre Company has is in bucket loads. Need a smooth cocktail or a nice wine, okay then an enjoyable beer.it's here!
Access is easy, even by bus.and, after an event there's always a wide variety of places to retire to afterwards in one of Sydney's most vibrant districts.
Yep! A great night out.
What a charming and intimate theatre Darlinghurst Theatre Company is. I thoroughly enjoyed it. No matter where you are seated, you have an excellent view of the stage area. During a Q and A, I had no problem speaking directly with the main artist, Dami Im and no microphone needed.
Making my way to the location of the theatre was very simple by a bus. Mine was from Central Station on Eddy Avenue. It was only 5 minutes or so.
Lastly, after the event I and my friends found a nice place to get a meal and at the end of the night an abundance of means exist to make your way home.
Lovely, intimate performance space. Well appointed and great for people with mobility issues.
Nice small theatre where we can see the scene and actors very well, good setup of sound, music
Incredible night out. The staff are friendly, there's a bar and the theatre space is moderately sized so you feel close to the performers.
Great intimate theatre. Super friendly staff. Brilliant production. Will be back in a heartbeat.
"Once" was very uplifting & such a fun show. Would love to see more at this venue. Small & intimate. No crowds & pretty good actors.
Mulled wine
Loved the theatre and the friendly, knowledgeable staff. Production was also stellar
An absolutely wonderful performance space. Incredibly intimate. I love it! However, the tiny set of stairs to exit the theatre at the end of the performance are extremely poor. Made worse because those patrons that got down first choose to congregate in the foyer. In these times of COVID this sort of selfish behaviour beggars belief. Not sure why the theatre staff allow it to happen.
"We Are Here" seen last week. Fantastic venue and performances were amazing. However, I would have left at interval, had I not been sitting in the front row. Too much time dedicated to talking, pushing for donations and buying tickets for other shows. The English Performer arrogantly fired verbal abuse towards white audience members; totally inappropriate and offensive, considering that demographic was the majority.
Had a booking error, where payment was made but tickets were not assigned. They told us to repurchase tickets and refund for failed attempt would be processed the following Monday.
We followed all steps asked and refund was never issued. It has since been over a month, we have called multiple times a week and left so many voicemails, only to never hear back from them. Communication with them is terrible, and they have shown absolutely no customer service whatsoever. Don't bother leaving a voicemail, they will never get back to you.
Outstanding show that really makes the audience laugh, clap, cheer and THINK!
Bravo to all concerned
