Crystal Shower Falls reviews
47Beautiful jungle and a wonderful waterfall easily accessible via 20 minute walk from parking. A must
It is a very steep walk and can be tiring but you will certainly appreciate the beauty of this waterfall.
Great family experience. Beautiful rainforest with a good walk to reach the Crystal shower Falls. Watch out for the odd leech that may hitch a ride on your legs. Takes a good walk of about 30 mins to reach the first of the falls. Another 30 mins to reach the second one which we didn't take. The rainforest is wonderful.
Beautiful spot. The section behind the waterfall is something else, particularly if the waterfall is roaring. Recommend doing this walk as part of the longer Wonga Walk if you have the time.
The experience and the beauty of the park is just beyond the words.
Everything is magical there
Nice walk through the rainforest to fantastic falls. Can actually walk behind them for great photo opportunity
This is an easy walk downhill to the waterfall, but the walk coming back is mostly uphill. It's totally worth it though, you can view the front of the waterfall from the suspension bridge or continue a short distance further to loop around onto the path that goes behind the waterfall. It gets quite muddy in this area if the weather is wet. Lots of birds and lizards during the walk.
Dorrigo National Park is only an hour from Coffs Harbour, magnificent waterfalls walks and spectacular views, we do recommend wear a comfortable shoes if possible a good hiking shoes.
Beautiful scenery that God give us in this area, must visit in your vacation list.
Well worth the few km walk there and back. Easy walk down the hill and then the walk back was a bit slower but definitely recommend it.
How could you not give 5 stars for a suspension bridge right in front of a waterfall over a cave? We did the whole wonga walk was great.
The walk to waterfall is moderate difficulty but it is paved the whole way round the loop track, which is good when it rains during the walk like it did on us. Despite the rain it was magnificent scenery and the walk was great
This is the most beautiful park I've ever been to. So many lush foliage and plenty of information about the trees and plants. It is a big hike of around 3 hours and you have benches enough if you want to rest. The two waterfalls were amazing. Plenty of parking space and toilets available. A cafe if you're hungry. I recommend good walking shoes and a reusable water bottle.
Divine especially after the heavy rain. The falls were wild. Beautiful walk through the natural bush. The piece de resistance is standing on the ledge behind the falls
If you start from The Glade Picnic Area it's only a 40 mins return walk.
If you start from Dorrigo Rainforest Centre, go down Lyrebird Link Track the do a loop on Wonga Walk it's a two hours plus affair. However, you'd also get to visit another waterfall which is the downstream of Crystal Shower Falls plus the opportunity to walk through the beautiful rainforest spotting local birds.
The fall itself is quite remarkable. Mark sure to visit when there have been recent rains. If fact, if you drive to the park following Waterfall Way from Thora then you will spot the upstream of the fall which will give you an indication on how strong the fall current would be.
Worth checking out if you're in Dorrigo! Entrance is via the National Park and it's a 30min walk to get there from the entrance. It can get busy so recommended to get a park early in the morning (we got there at 7am and we were first to park). The falls are great to get pics at, there's even a suspension bridge at the upper view point!
Lovely rainforest feel walk and great reward at the end. Crossing the bridge and getting to walk behind the waterfalls was something different. Pretty easy hike even tho the up hill back feel like forever!
It rained a lot recently, so the falls were both flowing plenty. I would definitely recommend this on an overcast day and so make sure you see Tristania falls as well, it is very different.
As it was school holidays the walk was very popular, it felt crowded and there were never no people in the photos of Crystal Shower Falls.
The whole walk is on bitumen, but still felt like a fair bit of work, you'll see plenty of different things along the Wonga walk including some impressive strangler figs.
Journey is better than destination. Walk to the falls thru the rainforest is better than the falls. Water is accessible, good experience overall.
Amazing walk down to the falls from the Glade picnic area. Do the full walk around to the second falls, Tristainia falls and around to the visitor centre. If you do walk back to the glade picnic area, note that it is quite steep but still very do able and fun!
Note: We visited the falls on a very rainy day, so the falls very flowing very fast in the day we visited.
We met some elderly people who had found the walk down too strenuous, but if you can spare the few hours, the circuit track is a great, low allergy exercise effort. Put on mosquito repellent beforehand. Some people said they didn't see the wildlife they were expecting, because of the undergrowth. At the falls, capturing a picture from under the falls, of someone still on the bridge, makes for an interesting shot.
