Cowra Visitor Information Centre reviews
48Well worth the visit. Pretty rose gardens, Hologram display was informative, going for about 9minutes. Staff were super friendly
Everything is well set out ad the displays are beautiful and the staff we talked to was welcoming and very informative
Such a great place to visit an read about the history of cowra. Lots of information about the surrounding areas
Amazing experience, wonderful ladies to answer your questions and show you great attractions to visit. Then there is the hologram that you can watch about Cowra during those times, and there are information boards you can read about each nation that were involved in the Cowra area during the war years. Allow an hour or more for this exceptional information centre.
Good overview of the history of the Cowra breakout, with a cute holographic display, old school but informative. Friendly helpful staff.
A great presentation in regards to the POW Camp and Break out. The ladies who work there are so lovely and full of useful information.
The holographic show was worth taking the time to watch, interesting and informative, although I didn't get the chess piece? Lots of historical information about the area displayed inside the centre. Lots of goodies to purchase, some local but lots of non local too, I would love to see more locally produced items. Some lovely books about local history displayed. An interesting range of preservative free wines, which are not always easy to find. The gardens at the entrance are vibrantly coloured, the snap dragons are beautiful at the entrance. A lovely rose garden situated just across the car park too.
Was most impressed with assistance given by Rose and friendly staff in regard to road closures due to flooding. Phone calls were made to both Gundagai and Wagga Wagga to check roads were open. This was most appreciated and made for a safe journey home to Wodonga.
Very well stocked info centre with an entertaining 9min presentation about the Cowra POW Camp. Worth sitting down to watch & listen.
Informative about the local district. Good interactive display for the "Breakout". A good stock of local history books.
Staff are very friendly and passionate about Cowra. The POW hut and watching the hologram presentation about the POW breakout is a must.
Did I mention local wine tasting?
We got some great local information from the team member we spoke with here, plus a town tourist map marked with the local highlights. This made it easy for us to plan our days, for our 2 night stay in this town.
Very helpful staff. Great holographic presentation of history of the breakout by Japanese POWs from Cowra POW camp during WW2.
Staff were wonderful and informative, little souvenirs well priced and the Holographic show about the history of the camp was the highlight. Well made and easy to watch. #getChrisToCowra
Visited and do watch the hologram, interesting about the Cowra Breakout, and when you see the POW camp it really puts it into perspective the size of the area
5+ stars. Would have to be one of the best I have visited. The hologram from Clare is amazing and so informative.
What a great little centre. Great hologram and story about POWs in Cowra, lots of local wines on display, for sale and tastings. Friendly staff and good range of info. Heading back tomorrow to get more info on the Japanese Gardens.
What an incredible place. It has history with the hologram picture of the Cowra outbreak and also had a great supply of local products. Also great local knowledge
Helpful staff, diarama of POW Camp as well as a short holographic talk on the camp in the theatre. Rose gardens next to carpark!
