Cowra Japanese Garden and Cultural Centre reviews
58This is must visit location, the gardens are very well maintained with golf carts available for the mobility impaired. A very tranquil location to relax and have a stroll around to take in all the colours and textures of a Japanese garden in a Australian setting. There is a gift shop on site as well as a decent restaurant to grab a bite to eat. You could easily spend hours or a entire day at this spectacular venue.
A lovely place but as it is run by donations someone should not be there forcing people to donate.
Absolutely serene and majestic! The story of how this garden eventuated and its significance towards the history of Cowra, is well worth exploring and understanding.
The Cowra Japanese Gardens is among the best i have seen, we absolutely loved walking around the Different Sections and Look outs, very well looked after Gardens and the Flower Display was Beautiful, and we topped it off with a lovely Lunch and a very reasonable priced Souvenirs.
Worth the visit and worth every penny. The gardens are well maintained and lovely zen vibe that you can grab some snacks and the cafe and eat at the Green grasses. Definitely be back if I was around here again.
It is well worth the effort to get to these gardens in Cowra. Spread over 5 hectares with easy walking concrete pathways, the gardens are very well presented. We visited in autumn with the change of colour in full swing which added to the beauty.
These garden are magnificent and a must see whenever you are in Costa. My suggestion is to hire a golf buggy to see it all.
A beautiful place to visit while in Cowra. Great to walk around and admire all the hard work put in to make this Japanese garden, a very relaxing area to come to with family and friends. The gardens, cafe and gift shop are run by excellent and very helpful staff. If you are in or going to Cowra then the Japanese Gardens are a must visit spot. I am sure you will enjoy the tranquillity as much as I did.
This is a must see for anyone visiting Cowra. It has such a peaceful and beautiful feel to it. The bonus is that they have golf cars for hire, so that the less able are able to view the beautiful gardens.
Late afternoon the sun was hitting the autumn trees on the hill giving them fantastic glow. The park is surprisingly not super photogenic, being very spread out and horizontal, the feature plants can seem isolated, and it's hard to frame your snaps. Still it's impressive what they've created in a country setting.
What a wonderful way to spend time in Cowra. The Japanese Gardens were spectacular. Matt, who I can only refer to as a Horticulturalist extraordinaire, was so very knowledgeable, personable and generous with his time. It was an absolute pleasure.
The park is very great , the price is $15 which is reasonable, spend around 1-2 hrs, there is a culture centre, good way to learn Japanese Culture
It's a very beautiful place. I love to visit here even in winter, still plenty of colour despite not being ideal season for the deciduous trees that one would normally associate with Japan. A wonderful collection of Japanese cultural items in the cultural centre.
Lovely place to visit. Beautiful gardens. It only took us about 15 minutes to walk thru. Can be a bit hilly. I'm concerned for the elderly. They do have a golf buggy you can hire - but at a lot of the points, you can't take the buggy and you still need to walk up a steep incline.
Recommended visit. They do have a coffee shop there too!
Very magnificent natural garden with art feeling. It mixed Japan & Australia culture's art complexity.
Lovely garden in a big country town. Interesting to learn of the history of the garden and the town.
A lovely place. Staff very friendly. Would have expected to see a Japanese menu in tje restaurant though.
The most beautiful garden setting. Not really wheelchair/scooter friendly but does have a Golf cart for hire to drive 4 people around to see all the fabulous Rose's. The shop has lots of fabulous souvenirs and the coffee shop has delicious coffee and snacks.
Well worth the visit. The gardens are beautiful, tranquil and full of lovely views. Will certainly pay another visit here and spend the day looking around
