Coonabarabran Visitors Centre reviews
30 My husband and I have just discovered that information centres are excellent for stopping at charge EV. Recently we road tripped from a orange to nightcap ridge to get married and we stopped at quite a few Info centres. Coonabarabran was our favourite as the lady on that day was fascinating to talk to. They have an amazing museum of mega fauna fossils that were discovered in the early 1980’s and they had excellent photography exhibits from kids taking photos of space. Our only disappointment was we couldn’t buy any of the photos.
Truly a wonderful pit stop filled with great service, information and interesting facts.
We’ve enjoyed sending pics of the fossils to our nephews and talking to friends about our new Knowledge.
Stopped at the visitor centre for some information about the area and found the staff member super friendly and ready to help. Gave us some great information about Coonabarabran and the surrounding areas. They have a great display of dinosaur bones and aboriginal artefacts definitely recommend a stop here and check it out.
Wow, very friendly and informative staff. Thanks very much. Highly recommended if you are touring through and want to know about the area.
Stopped to charge the EV at the NRMA 50kw DC charger. 45kw max charge. Great place for a break. Clean toilets. Visitor staff were very friendly.
Terrific place, easy ingress and egress with parking and toilets. They should be proud of what they have built here.definitely stop and spend time here.
Worth dropping in. Has a lot of information about attractions in the town & surrounding areas. Suppressed me the attractions & stuff to do & see.lot of knowledge to take in
We had fish and chips from local fish shop just near the clock in the Main Street opposite the post office. Great feed and friendly service. Will call in again.
Staff was very friendly. There was a little art gallery behind which had some amazing photography
Friendly staff you help you with your questions. Lots of information to be be found. Toilets are nice and clean.
Very clean toilets and the driver reviver was opennoffering tea an coffee.however watch out for the drop in the gutters to the road in the car park. I had an accident, the centre is very close to the hospital
Love the local knowledge from the lovely friendly people who work at tourist information centres.
Coonabarabran’s centre is very clean and tidy, so many brochures to browse at, both regionally and locally.
Didn’t realise Coona is the gateway to a lot of astronomy type activities and bonus that there is also a good mix of free & cheap activities locally and within 50kms.
Can’t wait to continue exploring this lovely area in the upcoming school holidays.
Another thing on the bucket list ticked off to stay in the Shamrock. It was affordable in the heart of historic Bendigo. Room very Comfy with an annex two lounge chairs, large TV good ensuite. Dinner in the down stairs bar excellent, (even pensioner neals) if you love old this is the place and there's a lift.
Great place. Wombat fossils. Very helpful. Not pushy. Clean toilets.
Decent food in town which says a lot coming from a melbournian. When we travel i usually have to remind the kids that we come from one of the food capitals of the world and its a curse they will need to endure when they travel.
We are here often. The food was excellent & reasonably priced but the last time. The kitchen staff was throwing a bowl of chips in the air & crunching them into the floor. My food was left for 20 minutes before giving me cold steak & chips & when I asked the chef to, please heat it up, he put his hands all over my meal. I didn't want to eat it after that & said so. He said "I'm the chef I touch everything". He was very rude & entitle. We no longer go there.
Helpful staff, electric charging station and interesting Diprotodon skeleton and information. Worth a stop.
Great place to stop on your travels clean toilets just watch out for the big potholes on the roads
Good place to come for a look as well as getting some information of the surrounding area. Friendly lady at counter. Clean and tidy. Well organised plenty of parking outside. Toilet facilities available as well as table and chairs nearby.
Very friendly staff, had an amazing fossil display which was easy for the kids to understand.
Lots of great space photos from local observatory to look at too and local history
Friendly staff with great information of the area. There's also a sheltered picnic table and public toilets.
It was fascinating place, and full of history of the area, Coonabarabran, is a great for a few days stop over, we will be back.
