It's a welcoming oasis in the heart of Sydney. It's a very well designed garden apparently designed by Guangzhou, considered sister city of Sydney. It costs AUD$6.00 for adults and it's worth it. I feel like I'm meandering around a well terraced maze of well appointed willow trees, bamboo, water features and even a man-made waterfall. It's laid out in such a way that you enter one secluded spot which leads you to another more secluded area which makes my day here enjoyable. There's public lavatory as well as a restaurant in this very cosy but unbelievably beautiful garden. Well worth exploring.

Lovely place to take photos in if you’re careful to avoid the city background! Only $5 or $10 to hire Chinese costumes to walk the garden in, my kids have done it a couple of times and it makes for beautiful photos for everyone!

Beautiful spot in Sydney to visit. Beautiful well kept gardens with a genuine oriental feel. Very peaceful and serene if you want a relaxing day and to get in touch with nature again.

I love this place. Peaceful, relax and a bit of fresh in the middle of the hot city of Sydney. The entrance ticket is pretty cheap also

I finally went in. What an oasis! Love this place! I will go back. Try one of the guided tours - even the one about rocks is fascinating!

A serene and very calming experience. Beautiful scenery with both a plethora of plant, as well as koi fish and free roaming iguanas. The tee house serve beverages as various tees, wine and soft drinks, as well as excellent dim sum, spring rolls etc.

This place is amazing, for only like $3 or $4 entry fee, you get this amazing Zen feeling inside the garden, some how most of the crowd/car noises are drowned out. The garden isn't particularly massive but big enough for you to spend around an hour there. When you go at certain times they provide a paid yumcha there which we didn't get to try at the time.

But they also have tea and snacks they provide at all times.

The garden is well maintained with beautiful and charming landscape. $6 admission and it offers a quiet and tranquil place in the middle of Darling Harbour. There are lots of shades in the garden and even when visiting on a very hot day (like I did) you will still be able to find places to cool down. The Chinese Garden of Friendship is a beautiful hidden gem in the heart of the city, definitely worth a visit.

Indeed a hidden gem! Breezy & relaxing! A place with yummo food too! The chinese restaurant ;The Gardens by Lotus was fantastic! Serves great nibbles like the noodles (served cold) was gorgeliciously served with sesame oil gravy! Spring rolls, siu mai, gain an chicken rice (sauce is made with passion fruit & pineapple)! Not spicy at all. I'm still salivating thinking about it! Food was fast and efficient. Service was excellent! Do allow some time for the food to arrive if restaurant is busy. Order your coffee that goes so delicately enticing with the mango shredded coconut dessert! Chocolate sponge was a blast! Just melts in my mouth! Brings yummy flavours to my palate! Must try guyz! These are towards gourmet artisan food you can't get at Chinatown. It's unique to the Chinese garden.try it, don't just trust my pictures!:)

This is a great little place to visit. For how small it is there is lots to see and we ended up spending a good amount of time here.

Nice place to spend one hour. Clean garden with nice views, small waterfalls, pavilions and some plants (including some bonsai). There is tje possibility to feed the fish at 1130. You can take a tea and some food in the teahouse. It is worth spending 6 AUD pp.

Lovely place in the heart of bustling Sydney. A great juxtaposition amongst the city scape with traditional Chinese architecture.

If you want nice views a peaceful atmosphere and some lovely photos this is a place you should do.

For sydney the price is super cheap at only $6 for an adult and you can easily spend ages here.

I would highly recommend

It was peaceful. It was calm, and I could just escape from the Central Business District through this garden. The teahouse was an enjoyable experience and simply sitting in and exploring the pavilion were so empowering. I don't know why, but I felt very at peace whenever I just sat down and admired the Chinese-style architecture. The artworks, sculptures, and Chinese traditional flora are very memorable. The signs next to each feature were very informative of their history and origin.

A beautiful garden set up that reflects the scenery seen in China. It was a great experience to go there with friends but beware the water is very murky and if you plan on looking at the fishes under the water, you probably won't be able to see it with great clarity.

However, you just want to have a look at the buildings or just want to be distracted for about 1.5 hours or so, this would be a nice place to do that.
