Manager refused to sell laptop advertised online which was in store. Traveled over an hour to be there as store opened on Sunday morning, first in store. The laptop advertised as still for sale was behind the counter but refused to sell because an online customer requested it as a replacement. Should never have been advertised online. You’d think there would be some honorary system or compromise but the manager was quite bland and dismissive. Will be reported
Very disappointed

I brough my laptop to sell it at hornsby Cex.the lady told me all about how they test my laptop and how long does it take but she didnt tell me they reset my device and gave me a paper to sign and said "this is just ur signature for what I told u". I trusted her & signed it without reading.they wipe my laptop and I lost my whole data. Then she said oh u signed it so it means u agreed with wiping ur data. This is how u never should trust them. Such a shame. And they wanted to buy my $2000 laptop that I used for 2 month for $300 store credit! Such an amazing shop!

I visited the store today. The lovely lady with pink hair was delightful and professional, nice to see the stalwart Harry back. And the ever smiling Grace. Indeed a winning formula! Transacion was wrapped up quickly. Have to say this place has the best prices! Whichever way you’re trading. Great job HG+P

Competitive prices, responsive customer service and quick dispatch (normally).

Sold a laptop here. Staff said it would take 2hrs to test from 2pm to 4pm (that was fine). But I wanted to get a smart watch from cex Bankstown. So I asked what we can do. The staff said the voucher can be emailed to me (when the testing is done and there is no issues) so I can use it at cex Bankstown straight away without comin back to the Hornsby store (also they said they will call or message me if there is any issues). So the staff made me sign papers to agree to the emailing and stuff and it was all goods until then. My plan was go to top ryde to watch a movie until they finish testing. After the movie when it is confirmed that I will get the voucher, I was going to go to Bankstown to get the watch with the voucher. However, even after the movie finished at 5 30pm, I had no form of contact (no email/message/call) from cex Hornsby. I could not even call them because if try to call their number it just plays an automated message saying to contact them via their webiste. So I had no choice but to go back to the Hornsby store to see what was going on. I ended up just getting the cash instead of the voucher because I had no time to go to Bankstown anymore. This store wasted so much of my time (I was travelling via public transport) and scewed my plans. I didnt complain much at the staff when I went to pick up my cash because the person who served me was already off duty and i knew it was unfair to complain to another staff member who did not know what was going on. But I am writing this review so people know what to expect at cex Hornsby. Don't make false promises when you are not going to do anything to fulfil them.

Staff member refused to let me collect and item after i had already paid online and shown proof because of i had to have my parents with me even though they were in the car waiting had i showed proof that they consent to me purchaseing it and refused to refund it i lost $10 cause of him

Staff has knowledge on games and can answer my questions on the games that online reviews mostly couldn’t. Very friendly staff, nice conversations and an enjoyable place to be

Love this place, half decent pawn prices for some items and all items I have bought from CeX have stood up well.

Overpriced terrible service who’s going to pay $900 for a second hand Xbox series x when I can go buy a brand new one for $750 at jb, rude staff.

Great store give good prices on most media good way to find movies if you’re lucky good prices for video games as well friendly helpful staff it has moved down from where it used to be in hornsby westfield

Absolutely shocking non existing customer service worst experience ever don’t waste your money and time

They generally have pretty good second hand stuff and the staff are pretty helpful and usually know what they are talking about. I have traded and sold a few things here. You can buy stuff cheaply and get a fair price for most electronics.

Bought an Xbox Elite controller online, it arrived in the mail looking like it had been hit by a truck. Heavily abused from previous owner with impact damage and I was surprised they even accepted it for a re-sale. Took the controller to Hornsby CeX where I was offered an upgrade for an additional $55 to a series 2. I was handed a controller that hadn't been tested and got home to find the right bumper wasn't responsive, drove back to CeX Hornsby where they swapped it with another series 2. The young gentleman tested the second series 2 on the computer in front of me but didn't show the function of the paddles underneath but assured me they work fine. Got home and only one of four paddles worked. Will be returning the controller for the full refund on Monday. CeX Hornsby is my closest store and it's a minimum 45 minute drive one way. At the end of all this I'd have travelled 4.5 to 5 hours just to be stuffed around by incompetence and would've spent over $70 dollars in fuel plus the $195 for the controller. Could have just bought brand new for $249 and been done with it. Buyers beware, their quality control is pathetic.

If you are willing to do your price research and buy the right product, CeX is a great way to save money. Especially works for those nerds who constantly buy and sell stuff. People like me who find meaning in life and define their identity by being an early adopter of all things ‘tech’. If you are someone who cares about the ethical side of things, a case can be made about keeping the planet green as you are buying used products.

Alot of nice products and always friendly staff to accompany. They do great in both trade prices and resale of games and consoles etc. Fantastic.

Absolute scam artists. Most unhelpful staff. No information on website upon returns. Recieved a playstation paid 300 dollars for it to not work. And a dodgy controller. Staff directed me to an online email form that took her 15 minutes to find and she had experience. Lucky me I get to wait for their 24 hour team to tell me to go back to the store. For them to do nothing

Good place to buy or sell old games. However they had a PS5 on sale for over a grand, hardly charitable but unsurprising given their scarcity

Great place for bargains.range is a little small but you never know what treasure they might have.prices are creeping up a bit but with Covid I am happy to see them still around.friendly and helpful staff altho they get really busy.

Very helpful staff, they didn't know the answer to my question so they looked it up for me which was great! The only thing stopping it from being 5 stars was that the store was dimly lit making it hard to read the DVD/game titles
