Cathy Freeman Park reviews
47Great open space for people to do all sorts of activities or sit and have a coffee. Be warned MOZZIES galore at dusk.
Olympic park is fantastic we go there riding our bikes all the time clean amenities and cycleways all around to keep you interested
Well designed to move crowds in/out, Cathy Freeman Park is a large, flat, grass area excellent for festival-style events. The nearby fountain and playground are great for kids, and there are toilets nearby for later clean-up. In Australia, the problem is always one of cover - there is minimal shade on the park so bring hats, sunscreen, sunglasses, umbrellas, etc. While there is one public bubbler nearby (with a pathetic dribble), there is also nowhere to refill water bottles so come prepared. Or duck into the nearby Locker Room pub for refreshments. The nearest (paid) parking is P1 and P8 and if you're not daunted enough by that somewhat industrial, local-knowledge description, please note that both carparks are about as far from the Cathy Freeman Park as the train, so public transport really is a viable option.
Great place for the kids to visit and play. Accessible by car or public transport. Also before you make sure you check if an events on like a concert or sporting event cause it gets very packed if they are on.
Vegan market every 3rd Sunday of the month. I'm no vegan but it's nice to try new things. The cup cake where delicious
Great for kids, the playground and the parking makes it great for families with many kids.
Fun for the whole family great park land with toilets close by great for all families with children or fur children
Cathy Freeman Park is superbly nested at the Olympics Park. Plenty of parking spaces and perfect setting for the recent Spring Cycle 2022 event
Lovely area to unleash ourself and be relax.
Great area for walking and running.
Kids friendly area that kids would never like leave the area.
One of the greatest tourist attractions in Sydney Olympic Park, named after one of the most inspirational athlete in Australia. Looking forward to bringing my little ones back to this great facility. Strive For Success
A neatly maintained picnic area in Sydney Olympic Park. Very close to the sports hall. Olympic Cauldron is the biggest attraction here and water feature is just too good and will give the kids unlimited fun. There are lot of restaurants and coffee shop with in walking distance from CFP. There is also a public toilet close to this park. There is endless activities and it’s totally up to you to decide if you want to go for a walk or biking or just have food around the corner.
Great place to rest up during a day out. Full of nostalgia and history in recent times for Sydney during the golden era of The Sydney Olympic Games in 2000.
Beautiful open space with grass, trees and some wildlife (at night). Good place for a walk and talk, picnic or to just simply relax.
Lovely park, smack bang in the middle of Olympic precinct.
Unfortunately, lack of trees and shades (aside from the sides) makes it extremely hot in summer.
Good for walks and parks has amenities. Perfect for families on a day out with a picnic.
Also, the site holds several events throughout the year, ie. Royal Easter Show, Sydney Vegan Market.
Very nice playground in the olympic park. The best part is that it's well lit up and you can stay there till late. The cauldron is often working as a water fountain, which is a nice addition.
There is a children's park, picnic area and of course a big shower area or what ever you say that. Water keeps pouring every 15 mins. A great place for picnic with family and friends.
Beautiful parkland in the middle of Sydney Olympic Park. The park has shady pathway walks, large grass areas, fitness equipment, childrens playground and direct access to accessible amenities, pub, fast food, accommodation, sporting venues, public transport and picnic tables. The historical significance of the 2000 Olympics is very well displayed throughout.
Nothing special about this open space in Sydney Olympic Park except the construction for the 2020 Olympic Cauldron. Good for surrounding office workers.
Lots of free space, lovely fresh air. Beautiful built scenery. Achievements from our Olympic games are displayed so beautifully, the make you proud. Lovely structure of each individual place all throughout.
