Catalina Motel Lake Macquarie reviews
28 Upon arrival the actual room was clean but when we went into the bathroom it was very clear the toilet had not been cleaned. The bath also had dirty foot prints in it.
The Wi-Fi had a limit on it and only provided us enough data to watch half a show on Netflix before the limit was reached.
No breakfast facilities. The bed was also rock hard.
The staff were friendly but i think the price is abit high for what you actually get. I paid for a deluxe family room but it was tiny. I've paid less then half that at other place and gotten more for my money.
Wasnt a horrible place to stay but wouldn't stay again.
Rooms are clean and quiet. Staff are friendly and polite and the location is conveniently close to shops.
It's very reasonably priced considering the quality.
Very happy with my stay here.
Excellent place to stay clean and comfortable good hot water. The staff are friendly and helpful. Will stay again
Nice place. Road nearby was quiet, room was clean, all equipment worked. Personnel was friendly. Will I stay there next time - definitely yes!
Very clean and tidy. Staff are fantastic and very helpful. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Will definitely be back if another opportunity to be in the area arises. Thank you
Motel just out of town. Clean and tidy, good sized rooms and an outdoor pool. Bar fridge, microwave, toaster, hairdryer, kettle, aircon etc. Friendly staff and helpful with directions around town. You can park outside your room too.
Stayed there for a couple of days over Christmas, what a bad mistake, loud noisy and obnoxious people throughout the hotel day and night and screaming kids all afternoon right into the night banging and thumping in the rooms constantly. I always had some other people parking in my car park for my room everytime I come back to the motel then had an argument whether or not it was actually my space when is clearly numbered.motel manager owner seemed to ignore all the noise and carrying on, one large family took over the entire pool and bbq area as their own. Drive a bit further up the road and stay at the Brighton apartments much more classier establishment.
INTERNET/WIFI BASED REVIEW
As someone that travels for work and relies on the internet to do my end of day reporting and uploading of photos/videos I choose hotels based on Free Wifi first, ratings second and price third. I detest when I pre book accommodation with "Free Wifi" only to find it is a limited connection that then charges you for extra data.
I hate to say that this is the case here. The "Free Wifi" is actually 750Mb at 200KB/s. According to their portal I have used 751Mb but the data tracker on my laptop tells me I didn't even break 500mb.
For the extra $30 you'd have to pay for a usable amount of data you could stay at a much nicer place that offered Free UNLIMITED Wifi.
A note to the management - Sell booze in reception or something to make some extra coin. It's not 2008 anymore, trying to charge $XX for 500mb of internet isn't acceptable. Most people can get an extra GB on their phone for $10.
