Cape Byron Retreat

We stayed in the Sanctuary Suite and we loved the room and the property. Staff were very kind and lovely and the breakfast was delicious. We will go back for sure. =]

Rude staff who aren’t willing to accomodate customers cancellation requests who are impacted by covid. Don’t bother trying to email as staff will claim the email hasn’t been received. Stay somewhere else!

Cape Byron Retreat is an absolute gem and would recommend this beautiful retreat to everyone! It is tucked away from the town but only a short drive to get in there. It is serene and the team is wonderful. We felt so welcomed and my husband and I came for our honeymoon. The couple retreat is beautiful. The outdoor spa tubs have the most incredible views and is a must at sunset. If you're looking to relax and unwind, this is definitely the place to go! A massive thanks to Marcella and the team for helping us have the best possible honeymoon.

Shame that a family run business has such low regard for its customers. If you wish to stay here, be mindful of unclear and misleading cancellation policy

So disappointed that my partner has phoned so many times to see if he can get a refund or move the dates of his stay as we are bound to Lockdown in Melbourne and cannot leave the state and the Cape Byron is not willing to help but just more than happy to let him lose his $800 for his stay.
Surely the dates could be moved so that he can still enjoy the accom in the future.

- really confusing booking process especially around refunds
- dates don’t seem to very flexible even when booking in winter
- weird that a family business seems to care more about the immediate money than building good long term clients

If I could give Cape Byron Retreat zero stars I would based on how they managed my booking. I had to cancel my stay due to my state going into a lockdown. They would not offer me a refund or allow me to reschedule my holiday. It was very difficult to contact reception to discuss this. No available managing staff to handle this matter. Very disappointed as we are encouraged to support Australian tourism and it’s completely backfired.

I booked a stay at this hotel and I couldn’t make it because I was stuck in Melbourne lockdown. I asked for my booking to be refunded and they were completely inconsiderate of my situation, they were rude and not understand and told me that I had no choice but I was loosing what I paid for the hotel, which was close to $1000. I am so disappointed in this services and completely disgusted by them. I would not recommend at all.

What a beautiful place! We had originally booked a week of stay but had to cancel due to Covid lockdown scare during Easter but we did manage to stay one night here when we got to Byron Bay. Marcella is simply a great host, she’s warming, friendly and very helpful. She got someone help us quickly with the spa situation even though it was very late at night. Our room is beautiful and super clean. The view is breathtaking, we definitely want to come back to stay here for longer next time we’re back at Byron!

We had to cancel two weeks beforehand due to COVID cases in Byron Shire. I spoke with the manager on the phone who originally told us that she would cancel the booking and everything was taken care of, I asked if she could send me something in writing or if we needed to contact booking.com and she told me it wasn't necessary and it was all ok.

When we got an email from booking.com about the upcoming stay two days before the original date we rang to let them know we had already cancelled with the property. The manager then rang my partner back that morning really angrily telling her we would have to pay the whole amount for the booking. When I reminded her of our phone call more than two weeks before hand, she told me that she couldn't be expected to remember that, and if I complained to fair trading she would say I was lying! We made sure that we let the hotel know about this before hand and the manager told us that it was cancelled only to keep the booking and charge our card. What a stitch up.

Great place. Wasn't able to stay long but had a beautiful stay. Picturesque and quiet. Hot tub under the stars Highly recommended. A+

Thank you to everyone at Cape Byron Retreat for making our stay wonderful, you made us feel so welcomed and at home. The minute you pull up to the retreat you are surrounded by beautiful Gardens and stunning views, if you're a person who is really into their crystals you are going to love when you enter reception and your eye catches all the stunning pieces that are positioned around the room. There you'll also see a fully equipped kitchen that you can use yourself at anytime. The rooms are big enough, the bed is comfy toiletries are provided and you even have Netflix, the deck is spacious enough for two people, and you are well screen off from your neighbours. The pool and bbq area are big and surrounded by Lush Green Gardens there are also few chairs to lounge around in and read a good book or soak up the sun. The two spas are well-positioned to watch the sunset or to stargaze at night.you should add breakfast to your stay it's all made with local produce taste scrumptious and is healthy. It roughly 5 kilometers each way to walk into town we found it an easy walk.the shading from the trees make it Pleasant to walk and if it's a warm day you don't really feel it and if it's raining you mostly protected although do advise to spray anti repellent as mosquitoes are bad. We feel in love with the place and will be making it our special place to come back to every year.

Fantastic room and great little retreat. Room was organised, clean and had everything we needed. Marty was very accomodating when we checked in and was very helpful in offering a space for a last minute work phone call. I want to return again and spend more days here!

Stayed here for our anniversary and had a lovely time chilling on the deck, with a drink watching a cracking sunset. Great scenery and customer service. What more do you want.

Highly recommended! Cape Byron Retreat is a hidden tropical paradise. It is perfect if you want to get away from everyday life and relax. Breakfast is delivered to your door and you can enjoy the many amazing views while basking in the serenity. Our room was very private and offered everything. We will be staying here again!

The perfect place to unwind and relax, get away and embrace the outdoors while staying in luxury at it’s best, great energy surrounded by mountain views and crystals, enjoy sunsets, warm outdoor spa baths, under the mango tree, you can even watch the peacocks play!

Perfectly tranquil retreat. The breakfast room service was a great relaxing start to the morning. Thanks for providing us with such a wonderful stay, wish I had stayed longer.
