I have found Michelle owner of Blunts Realty to be both an excellent manager for my Lane Cove unit for many years, and good with sales also. She was always happy to meet on site if required and at other times she relayed quotes and information competently, and gave recommendations if I asked her opinion. Her advice was always excellent.
She also handled the sale of the unit, just settled 2 days ago, and communicated well throughout the entire process, without the RE hype. She was on top of other sales in the area, tradies etc. I recommend the company for both rentals and sales. Much appreciated as I live interstate.

I think Blunts would be a great real estate agent to have if you are a tenant. However, I had a poor experience of them as a landlord when they managed my rental property.
I inherited the property from my mother and I'm not sure if the real estate agent, therefore, thought that I wasn't really entitled to it or that I was some sort of wealthy investor (I'm not - this was my only investment property). I experienced the agent as, basically, being onside with the tenant's interests (it was the second or third property she had leased to this particular tenant) and not really caring about mine. When I inspected the property, she seemed to be almost standing guard over the tenant and wouldn't let me be alone with her or speak to her directly. She also made comments about what a bad time it was to sell property (it was probably fairly obvious that I was contemplating this). When I gave the tenant the legally required period of notice after a year-long lease, the agent tried to persuade me the notice wasn't long enough because it didn't suit the tenant's personal timetable. The agent never gave me any kind of advice about what I might be able to do to the property to increase rental yields (it was rented out at a fairly low rate).
I worked in homelessness policy and advocacy, for a number of years, and so I am very sympathetic to how expensive it is to find housing in Sydney. Therefore, I think it is kind of the agent to look after the tenant, which is more than you would expect of most agents. However, owning an investment property is a commercial arrangement where the landlord pays you to act for them. If you then basically spend your time supporting the tenant's interests, but not caring about the landlord's, you're forgetting who has hired and is paying you.
The last straw was that, when I decided to sell the property and ended the management agreement, the agent told me it would be an extra fee for them to advise the utility companies to send bills to my address. Given that they have been being paid management fees for decades by my family, not even being willing to do this minor task does not say much about how much they look after clients.
