The trails and mountains are spectacular, but the heritage center is small and limited in scope. Worth a pop in if nearby, but no need to go out of the way to visit it.

Fantastic centre with information boards, a theatre, toilets and gift shop. Just up from a short walk to a great view

Friendly staff who helped us hire a Personal Locator Beacon for free so that we felt safe on our bush walk! Thanks to the lovely lady who sorted us out.

We always like our visit to the Blue Mountains Heritage center. Today it was a bit windy and chilly but we enjoyed the view and the walk. We look forward to see all the improvements finished, but looking at it, it's going to be great.

We are privileged to live in a place with such committed officials and stewards of our natural world. What a fantastic service from the local Parks NSW team at Blackheath.

I would like to thank Ms Kerr for her very prompt and comprehensive to my inquiry. I received my reply on a Saturday. I am grateful

Very highly recommended.

I visited the Blue Mountains Heritage Centre near Govetts Leap Lookout in May 2022 to see the Peter Hickey Blue Mountains Photography display (which left a lasting impression).

The visitor’s centre is a really nice one and the staff are very pleasant – worth a visit.

I’m writing this review a year later because by chance (again) I met Peter and what a lovely guy he is. I thought it only right to give an honest review here to let others know about his work. I remember my favourites were ‘out of the gloom’ and ‘three spears sunrise’.

The most impactful for us was how Peter managed to capture the bushfire devastation in the Blue Mountains (you can seriously feel it) while also providing a new hope and glimmers of new shoots and flowers. So so powerful. Thoroughly recommend.

This website be more detailed and helpful with updates in regards to track closures, this would help quite a lot in not being an inconvenience to people heading up and planning their day in the mountains.

Plenty of treats to buy and check out the art gallery. Close to walks. A water tap out the front to fill up before and after walks

Chanced upon this place on our way to Fairfax heritage walk so get a toilet break. The centre is filled with rich and interesting history of Blue mountains which kept my boys reading for more. Reception guy is really forthcoming in giving good suggestions on walks that cater to my family's interest. We totally enjoyed the walks that he recommended. Do drop by for sound advice and great information about blue mountains.

The Heritage Centre has posters on it's walls about the local Aboriginal culture, plants, animals and the fantastic walking tracks around the Gross Valley.

The centre is run by the National Parks and Wildlife service and there is a gallery, theatre and a gift shop with plenty of the Aboriginal souvenirs, clothing and books.

Outside the Fairfax Heritage walking track starts.

Well maintained and heaps of info. Friendly staff. Advised us about the Popes Glen track fully operational and we loved it. Just be mindful to start this track clockwise. Clean toilets and supersonic hand dryer. The lookout also is very well maintained which we should all respect.

The staff were so lovely and the store has some gorgeous stuff. There's information about the tracks & lookouts, also a public toilet.

Multiple Chemical Sensitivity / MCS / migraine review: essential oils are sold in the heritage centre, I could not be in the building.

Just up from Govett's Leap, a famous lookout in the Blue Mountains. The views up the valley are magnificent. A lap a stop or starting place for many amazing hikes. The centre itself is lovely with some local crafts, maps, hiking items to purchase plus a huge panoramic viewing screen of places in the Blue Mountains National Park. Best of all are the staff who can help you with questions about the area. It's less than five minutes drive from Blackheath. It's Covid safe. It's disability access is great and has good parking plus disability parking. The bathrooms are also in excellent condition. Highly recommended.
