Belvoir St Theatre reviews
65I came here a short while ago to watch Into the Woods, an entertaining play performed by skilled actors. The facilities and architecture of Belvoir St Theatre are commendable, while the staff are kind and welcoming. My overall experience here was amazing and I was immensely impressed by the performance of Into the Woods. I highly recommend a visit to the Belvoir St Theatre if you are seeking an engaging and grand theatrical experience.
Nice little gem theatre just walking distance from Central Station. Cosy and comfy with pleasant audience to watch Miss Peony. What a wonderful night out. Will definitely come back for other plays!
Absolutely an A1 venue for up and coming and established performance artists to play their trades.
World class and essentially in the heart of SURRY HILLS.
Very Cosy cute comfy and intimate venue for theatre performances. Every seat has a great view. The building also has a lot of character. We watched “The Jungle and The Sea” which was a powerful, intense and moving play directed by Shaktidharan with the backdrop of the Sri Lankan civil war. An unforgettable experience.
I went there to watch "The jungle and the sea", a drama on the Srilankan war. It was an amazing experience.
An iconic theatre that's been part of Surry Hills for decades. Lovely smallish theatre with a bar.
Great theatre. Really spacious bar area and comfy theatre. Saw looking for alibrandi and it was amazing! Would recommend seeing a show here!
First time here recently, I really liked it. Good facilities, the theatre is small so I think everyone gets a good view of the stage. Show was excellent and very well done.
Came here with friends to watch a really interesting play, the acting and staging was amazing! Lots of cafes and restaurants nearby to have pre-show dinner and even some free on street parking, happy days!
Love the Belvoir. U are immersed in the story and part of the performance. Brilliant non-stage setting, personable and engaging. It is real theatre!
Always a pleasure coming here. Nice bar, good snacks, lovely space - and the shows are excellent
Excellent performance of Tell Me I'm Here today and regularly exceptional performances. Belvoir really deserves a much higher profile in Sydney.
Belvoir is a great theatre, one of the best in Australia, but 'Looking for Alibrandi' is far from one of their best productions. It's an overly melodramatic, superficial interpretation of a modern Australian classic.
Amazing Theatre staff are so friendly people are amazing shows are fantastic. The chairs are so comfortable awesome experience.
Love that there’s not a single bad spot in the venue. I arrived a minute late and had to wait in the green room. Even though there’s a TV screen there, you genuinely can’t hear or see anything so I definitely recommend coming on time. I also wasn’t able to sit in the original seat that I paid for because they had to slot me in the most convenient spot. Still very appreciative that they let me arrive late and the play was amazing too! Highly recommend watching theatre shows here
Wageless days are always good. Queue for tickets but all seats are close. Intimate; diverse audiences;
Varied plays; minimal actors; stage changes - very smooth; if you don't like the play you can leave at interval & it hasn't cost you a cent. Thank you Belvoir Street. Well done & keep up the great work.
A cultural icon on the Sydney Theatre scene. Always a great experience in home grown talent at the Belvoir. Was in the downstairs theatre tonight for an excellent production of Horses.
Saw a wonderful show, "Wayside Brides" by Alana Valentine. Also had a delicious lunch before the matinee. Only criticism was that chairs were a little narrow, making prolonged sitting a little uncomfortable. However, for anyone with mobility issues like me, it was very well appointed - lifts, accessible seating and accessible restrooms.
I have never been disappointed with any of the plays that I have been to here. The quality of acting and scriptwriting is without parallel. Do yourself a favour and watch at least one of the superb plays on offer, you won't regret it
