Been bringing to kids to AMA for a few months now, and we love it!

It's important to know though, that this is NOT just for kids!
It's the only martial arts centre I could find in Sydney that does family classes, so adults and kids can all train at the same time. As such, we travel half-way across Sydney every week just to come here.but what great family bonding time it is!

Love the flexibility in class times, so we can always find a class that fits around the inevitably busy kids' birthday party schedule.

Paying for four of us means it's not cheap, but hey, that's my fault for having too many kids, not theirs!

Great way to keep the kids active and healthy, while boosting your own flexibility and fitness.

Great for teaching the kids discipline and respect and Miss Sarah does a wonderful job supporting everybody and sharing words of wisdom.

Plus, it's so much fun!
Where else can middle-aged dads spar with one another under the guise of family bonding!

We have been with AMA marrickville for the past 5 weeks and my son really loves it.
From the first phone call the team have been very welcoming and supportive.
My son has autism, they have been amazing at helping him understand the instructions and the different moves.
They have even gone as far as having a young blk belt Helper with him for his lessons.
Miss Sarah is amazing, I love the way she interacts with the children in such a positive, upbeat, encouraging manner.
She has already managed to get eye contact from my boy (not an easy thing to achieve).

I really like the life lessons at the end of the lesson that are usually about never giving up /trying your best or a short mediation.

Totally glad we have found the awesome team at AMA marrickville.

I really enjoy training here. The staff are very supportive and welcoming of all people from all walks of life. I feel part of a family here and never feel self-conscious about being a white belt no matter how experienced the other students are around me. I’m improving a lot because the centre offers me the opportunity to practice in classes that are at the same time as kids classes. My son is 3 and he loves it too. I think we both feel more confident now.

My wife and I were looking for a martial arts dojo to take our 2 1/2 year old. We wanted to get her an early start learning discipline, respect and for her to learn the importance of exercise and being active. With limited options in the area for a child her age we found AMA. And we feel so lucky and grateful to be apart of their family and our daughter feels the same. She is currently in what they call the mini dragons and she looks forward to eat each week. With each passing day she waits with anticipation to see her class friends and to learn from her teachers. In the weeks since she has started to use please and thank you regularly and shows a respect and understanding of others. And she has started to develop basic martial arts techniques. My wife and I have been blown away by the staff and the positive energy you feel when you are in the dojo. We look forward to continuing our journey at AMA and thank them for offering such an amazing service and facility.

An outstanding institution of Taekwondo whose staff take pride in their line of work and deliver an incredibly valuable service to both children and adults. I only wish I had started younger! I would highly recommend AMA for the potential it has to improve one's life holistically through physical exercise, self defense techniques and the attitudes it instills in students of all ages.

In the Years we've been taking our son we have never once seen any drop in the high standard they presented to us on our first day. The team are passionate, enthusiastic, tireless, compassionate, motivational and instill from toddler to adult a great sense of community, confidence and pride in participation. Since we signed up our son in the little dragons programme, he's gone from white belt to little dragon master to purple belt in their next age group (dragons) and we've seen how the focus in classes around being a respectful and disciplined person has transferred positively into his school and home life. Not to forget how much fun he has! I applaud how great the staff at AMA Academy are and this review barely scratches the surface of all the other great things they do.

My family and I have been coming to the Australian Martial Arts Academy for about seven years now.
If you would like to learn a martial art in a safe, fun, positive environment, then look no further. Every age group from toddlers up to adults are catered for with a vast range of classes.
All the staff and instructors are friendly and approachable. You will feel right at home in no time at all (In fact i think of the Academy as my second home). Be prepared to make friends with other members too!
AMA is such a rare find. To know that your children (or yourself) will be experiencing positive role models and getting fit through Taekwondo is a win win in our busy modern society.
I have no hesitation in recommending the Australian Martial Arts Academy to everyone.

Excellent instructors, and so much more than just a martial arts class. I love the time spent teaching values and respect, and instilling confidence in my daughters, 6 and 7.

My ‘little dragon’ has been going for about 6 weeks and I’m super impressed with how well the place is run, and how it feels when you step in the door. On a Saturday or Sunday morning, it appears chaotic but is actually organised busyness. The instructors are generous and endlessly positive (and with some 4 and 5 year olds, this must be tough!). The values are exactly what I hoped for in fostering a kind, strong and fearless child.

I remember being with my family at community fair. We stopped at the AMM stand and was given a free guest pass for my 5 and 6 year old daughter to attend a class. Well they just loved it and have been going for 12 years now. Whilst they have many achievements to speak about, reaching their 3rd and 4th Dan black belts and becoming instructors at the Academy its the things that only a parent sees that for me make AMM an incredible place for my girls to attend.

They are fit, strong young woman that are wonderfully patient with the young kids they instruct as well as being fantastic communicators with the parents of those children. They are active givers in their communities and are regularly choosen to be leaders in the groups they are apart of. These are all the things you as a parent would make you proud of. If you are a loving parent and my guess is you are if you are reading this far the AMM really will support you raising your children as they encourage and support family and doing well at school. It truly has been one of the best things we have ever done as a family. I couldn't be more proud of my girls and AMM has been a big part in their development.

I can say that the past 11 years attending AMA has been such an amazing experience, through all the things i've learnt and constant achievements each year, AMA has really helped me grow into the person i am today. AMA has such a friendly vibe always pushing for the best out of the students, AMA has definitely been a highlight for my childhood years.
