Australian Country Music Hall of Fame reviews
40We had no idea this was there as the signage is poor. We enjoyed our stroll down country music lane.
Awesome.very informative.check out the history of Australian country music. Great presentation. Go at your our pace. Plentiful parking and friendly staff.
Easter weekend in NSW. JobKeeper has come to an end. Instead of throwing their doors open to the multitude of tourists on the road, almost everything remains closed. The reason given “Holidays. Too expensive to pay staff. ” Forgive me. The amount of revenue foregone by being closed on the second biggest tourist weekend of the year would more than make up for labour costs.
So spare me the comments on TV how tourist operators are doing it tough. Problem of your own making.
What a wonderful way to spend time reflecting on country music in Australia and its historical value. Well worth a visit.
This place is amazing, capturing the spirit of Tamworth and the staff very helpful and friendly. Thankyou well worth the cheap entry fee
The hall of fame was really well laid out and informative, HOWEVER if you are black please make sure you have your citizenship and birth certificate handy before seeking to gain entry. My wife was heavily interrogated by a woman at the counter after we had paid the entry fee, in regards to her ethnic background, her citizenship status and "for how long she had been in the country". This im guessing is because 'coming from Sydney' is not a sufficient answer when you look a certain way, regardless of what you sound like.
Not being a country music fan, I was pleasantly surprised by the experience. It's an inexpensive entry fee, with a wealth of exhibits.
It’s okay, gives a rounded idea of country music to the less inclined, if you are after something more I am afraid it won’t provide. Reasonable cost for entry and some good history to enjoy, it’s a once been no need to return scenario.
We travelled from Sydney only to find that the hall of fame is closed.
Nothing on the website apart from visits by appointment.
Tried to make an appointment, only to get a recorded message.
NOT GOOD ENOUGH
There is so much stuff in here! The audiovisuals are really informative and interesting. The info for each decade is a good summary of the stars in those time frames too.
Check out my brothers picture John Martiska with Slim Dusty on display. John donated thousands of items to Hall of Fame.wonderful
It was amazing, $7pet adult. Ladies at the front desk were so friendly. I would say make time to have a look.
We visited The Australian Country Music Hall of Fame. Now I know Country music singers but I don’t listen or play it. Each to their own
But I was blown away today, I remember all the older singers and musicians obviously because they were so good. It’s true even if you are not into Country music you will get s kick out of everything there. The young guy who took our $7 each to get in he was a nice young guy. Very friendly
There was so much to look at and then they have 5 era’s on video with John Laws was the narrator. Then in another room there was about 5 more videos of interviews with people like Lee Kernaghan, Slim Dusty, Keith Urban.
I’m from Mooroopna Victoria and so were The
Hawking Bros. Russell and Alan started the bad in 1955. They won quite a few awards at the Golden Globes in the 1970s
They were best friends with my great uncle.
So even if you don’t like Country music do yourself a favour and pop in you certainly
will enjoy it
Brilliant place and I'm not fussed on country music. This is a must see for everyone interested in music.
A lot of interesting history of Australian Country music. Not expensive to enter and lots of displays, although some empty display cabinets made it look unfinished. Run by volunteers and worth the $7 entry, but no EFT.
Interesting displays but was disappointed to find the most of the videos were not working due to maintenence.
Somewhat interesting but very limited displays regarding the current Australian country music stars.
Was very interesting spent longer time than expected some great memorabilia and interesting facts
Worth a look ~ few interesting stories. Majority of the audiovisual didn’t work. Worth supporting the community.
$7 Cash only
You need to be into Country Music to fully appreciate the Hall of Fame. Allow 2 hours to watch the videos an read the information If country music is not really your scene you will ger through a lot quicker.
