Aunty Ed's Restaurant And Bar reviews
60Our autism travel group stopped in to have lunch at Aunty Eds today after a big day at Scenic World and in the mountains and all the staff were so kind and accommodating to our requests! Our lunch was delicious and the venue space is so groovy and cosy. Absolutely recommend you visit during your time in Katoomba! Thanks so so much guys ️ can't wait to come back!
Food, drinks and service were all amazing! We had the beef brisket and burgers. (Cheese Louise and Big Ed) the as well as shakes and cocktails. The staff were very friendly and attentive to all of our needs. Thanks so much! Will definitely return.
I visited this place for dinner back in 2019 when it had a different name (Uncle Jack’s?) and it was as really good.
Unfortunately upon visiting today for lunch, we were very disappointed. My burger took so long to come out that the people I was with had already finished their meals and we decided to leave. Just as we were leaving, my burger arrived but we decided to skip it. Disappointing experience.
The decor is really lovely though.
Edited to add to owner’s response: we all ordered our meals together but I was told something had happened to my burger and it would take 5 mins to make another one. It took much, much longer than that and we weren’t able to ask anyone what was going on.
Unfortunately the food here was extremely disappointing, my partner and I came here and ordered two burgers, arancini balls and a few drinks and dessert. The total was $168. My burger patty was like a hockey puck and we waited 20 minutes for the appetiser & an additional 45 minutes for the two burgers. Upon arrival the portion sizes were sub par for a $26 burger and a few measly chips. I don’t normally mind a bit of a wait, but realistically no burger should take that long to arrive, Seems as though the burger had been completed for quite a while before being sent to us, and had just been sitting under heat lamps drying out the patty.
The service seemed inexperienced yet willing to help & mostly friendly. With young staff I will always give benefit of the doubt as it seemed much more like the kitchen was having so many problems and had miscommunicated orders. At one point one of the waitresses said to us that she had no idea what was going on! I thought that was a bit strange, but very telling. Unfortunately we won’t be returning: (
Took my partner, parents and kids here for lunch today and seriously loved it. The food was great, I really like the atmosphere (bit loud, but maybe I'm just getting old.) and I like what the owner is doing with some of the local drinks and produce. Glad to have found something in a new "local" that has a bit of an interesting vibe, variety and some interesting drinks to try. Looking forward to going back.
We waited quite a while for our food but once it arrived it was awesome! Felafel plate GF was so tasty and parmigiana was huge and delicious. Would highly recommend to hungry people. Retro Atmos was also great!
This place is amazing, fantastic drinks, great atmosphere!
Even more so, the staff are incredible! Amy and the rest of the team went out of there way for us to ensure we had the most perfect Hens weekend away, I cannot rate them highly enough!
Thankyou all again so much you made our weekend
Great staff, cool & quirky vibe, went there for drinks tonight, going back for dinner tomorrow night
Qaint setting, eclectic mix of 70s and 80s era in furnishing. Wait people were lovely, service was great. There was live music and the food was amazing.
I loved the vibe at Aunty Ed’s. Great service and delicious food. I highly recommend when in Katoomba.
EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL
1 star because no option for zero.
We booked online in advance our table for our 23 year anniversary including note stating that we would appreciate a "romantic table" because it's our anniversary - got a small table in the "no need to book" area and had to watch others being offered various high back vacant areas.
Even had to give immature "manager" coaching/tips
Soooo bad - definitely need assessment
Literally the best parmegianas we've ever had. Also the milkshakes were amazing and the atmosphere was relaxed and not too noisy:)
Lovely place and very creative decor. We went two nights in a row, highlighting the Blue Montains Mist drink. We were welcomed by the friendly blonde waitress, I think her name is Amy. My family and I recommend it and we will be back.
We are visiting from Sydney and just had a great Sunday evening with amazing music, some drinks, snacks and the best waitress ever Bella. Thanks for making us feel special team
We visited Aunty Ed's on a Friday night with our family. The service was excellent, the food delicious and the ambience was perfect. A fantastic band came on later in the evening and we enjoyed a cheese platter and wine. Highly recommended!
Great place. If you love a but of retro gear, you'll love this place. So many "we had one if those" moments. Food was pretty good too. Kids had some beaut kids meals and my wife and I enjoyed our meals. Would recommend.
The staff are very friendly and attentive. Our sundae desserts were nice but were missing marshmallows (which we love) and instead had cream (which we don't) which wasn't on the menu. The espresso martinti was good. The restaurant has a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere.
Pros: Central location, friendly staff, food was tasty
Cons: very cramped seating with little regard for social distancing, limited menu, poor value for money
Fun yet comfortable atmosphere. Fast and friendly service. Simple but nicely cooked and presented meals. Cocktails, mulled wine, desserts, burgers, the best chicken parmigiana, and range of vego meals too.
Tucked underneath the footpath in Katoomba it was a pleasant surprise. I had heard of it from friends about its popularity and it was well earned. The decor is kitchen and definitely from yesteryear. The food was fantastic.mainly burgers and American style food, but well cooked and delicious. Our group was very happy with all of the meals. Service was excellent and well above what I have come to expect from restaurants. Bookings are pretty much essential and we ate dinner at 5: 15 in the evening and that sitting was full. Highly Recommended.
