Andrew (Boy) Charlton Pool reviews
56Well regulated by staff for COVID rules. Pool is in good condition and salt water is a good temperature. Can be a little crowded, before the pandemic started. The views from the pool are spectacular and include Woolloomooloo and the Naval Base on the opposite side of the bay.
Awesome salt chlorinated pool, accessible with a fitness passport for those in eligible government roles.
Great LC pool. Beautifully located. Worth the visit for a swim or just a meal (extremely tasty burgers!).
Great cafe with a view. Good standard of food, reasonably priced and which can be enjoyed as you watch people swim or just enjoy the harbour and Navy ships.
Go early on weekends before the place fills up!
Need to pay 2 dollars for lockers on top of whatever admission to the pool costs — ridiculous. Anywhere else in the world the locker is included as part of the service.
Otherwise, nice salt water 50 metre pool with a great view. Imagine it can get pretty busy on nice days.
Pretty cool view of the naval ships and harbour. I like that it's a salt water pool too. Only got to play in the smaller family pool, but the adults pool looked inviting. Change facilities and large and spacious, one of the best I've seen.
Pretty nice pool! I just saw the review before mine, I didnt feel the facility was dirty when I visited.
The pool is filled with salt water which is good. They have a separate swimming pool for kids. The adults swimming pool is 50 meters in length, with 1.2m the shallow part and 2m the deep part. They have lockers. The pool entry was $6.5 which seemed good. Downside is the parking for 2 hours costs 3 times the pool entry so if you are close enough to the pool you should probably just walk there.
I didnt get to try the caffe unfortunately because the caffe section was closed for some reason, I was looking forward to trying the caffe too.
I'll update the rating when I get to try the caffe too!
Weird salt chlorine mix for this place, parking conditions are horrible with no nearby transport.
Otherwise staff are friendly and nice, cafe has good coffee and food.
Wonderful outdoor pool overlooking Woolloomooloo wharf, reasonably Priced, Olympic sized pool, and great outdoor decking areas to sunbath
Great pool. Amazing location, beautiful views. After a swim session the food and smoothie at the café is very nourishing and delucious.
My favourite pool in Sydney. Pulled laps here a number of times, and enjoyed the view. Also did the ABC aquathon series here every Thursday evening in summer. I loved it.
Andrew Charlton Pool is the ideal place to swim in summer time. It feels incredible to swim a 50m long pool in salty water with a fantastic sun over you. Go give it a try!
Great cafe in a spectacular location. While the Quay was shoulder to shoulder, we lounged in the sun with a delicious meal and a cold ale with the harbour sparkling at our feet. A hidden gem.
Excellent location and pool.could improve alot with more beds to lay on = double the current amount would be good
I love this pool. Water quality is always spot on. Facilities are very well maintained. Adjacent to Botanical Gardens so a great walk awaits after the swim. Onsite cafe also serves good coffee.vital after a long swim.
One of the best pools in Sydney. Great views, easy parking and the kids pool is covered by shadecloth.
Good facilities kept clean and the cafe does great hot chips.
It puts together all the things I look for in a swimming pool. Fantastic coffee at the coffee shop too
I love how even though this is a pool in the middle of the city, concession entry is an affordable $5 as opposed to out in my suburb (30min from CBD) where I usually have to pay $6-7. The facilities here look and feel new, bathrooms are well designed, and the stands are comfortable. It's an outdoor saltwater pool so make sure to apply plenty of sunscreen before going.
This is a great place to go swimming right in the heart of Sydney but without all the crowds that you might find at some of the other pools in places like Bondi. The pool is a mix of saltwater and chlorine and it wasn't too crowded. There are a few lanes for laps and a free swim section as well.after you're done swimming you can get a bite to eat or drink at the great Cafe above the pool. The views are amazing and it is a very relaxing place to spend an afternoon.
Just a spectacular pool on stilts over Woolloomooloo Bay with great views over the water to the navy yards.
There's a filtered saltwater Olympic pool full of serious swimmers, plenty of room to sun yourself, and a good kiddie pool.
You can usually get a metered park nearby, but do be aware of the outrageous cost of parking.nearly $9 per hour!
The cafe does ok breakfast and excellent lunches.
