ABC Carpet Court

We used ABC Carpet Court on Lane Cove Road at Ryde to supply and fit carpet to a newly completed extension in July 2019. In short, the quality of carpet was good, the installation was mediocre, and the follow-up customer service was poor.

Most installation problems were minor, such as scrapes and scuffs on newly painted skirtings, raised carpet around some architraves, and kickboards under walk-in wardrobes pushed inwards. The main issue was damage caused by the layer to a new linen cupboard, including a deep chunk of timber removed from the edge of one door, a missing hinge pin and scratches / dents to surrounding trim.

We discussed the main damage with the layer on the day of installation. He apologised and offered a painter to fix the linen cupboard with a ‘10-minute paint job’. He didn’t seem to understand the nature of damage or the actual repairs needed so I told him I’d arrange repairs directly with the business.

I phoned ABC Carpet Court Ryde the next day and spoke with the person I had dealt with multiple times since our initial visit to the store. I emailed him photos of the main damage. He phoned back and told me the damage was not ABC Carpet Court Ryde’s ‘problem’. He said it was our fault because we allowed the layer to remove the linen doors. I explained we had no knowledge of the doors being removed, would not have allowed their removal had we known, and questioned the need to remove them given their site measurements confirmed adequate clearances. I finished the call by asking for his ‘no responsibility’ position in writing and instead received a short email saying the layer would be in contact.

I did not hear back from anyone for another 2 weeks. I then sent a follow-up email to the business, with photos of more damage we’d discovered in the meantime. ABC Carpet Court Ryde did not respond, but the layer phoned and again offered his ‘friend’ to fix the door. It was clear this was the best the offer I would get from this business, so I gave up and fixed the main damage myself.

All the other businesses we have used during this renovation have been professional and helpful, and genuine in their efforts to resolve any issues with efficiency and courtesy. ABC Carpet Court Ryde was the exception to this, which is a shame because I like to support local businesses. My main advice for anyone considering using this business would be 1.seek written assurance of the quality of their service; 2.sight their policy on the repair of any damage to your property caused by their delivery and fitting service; 3.negotiate staged payments, with the final payment to be withheld until the work is completed to your satisfaction.

We were given very polite and helpful advice when choosing our flooring and then the workers were also delightful. They arrived as arranged, they did a magnificent job, cleaned up perfectly and went above and beyond! Thank you so very much to Mark, Dave and Josh - you are legends! Very happy customers!

Top job! Mark was so professional and made the whole process extremely easy from helping my wife and I select what carpet we needed for our rental property to booking in the measure and check and finally the installation. Simon who laid the carpet did a great job was punctual and professional.

Starting with our initial visit to ABC Carpet Court in Ryde last month, the process was exceedingly smooth and positive: choosing several samples of carpet for our 3-bedroom villa, then being lent these to test at home; followed by a professional measure and quote, with supporting detailed written documentation. Having agreed upon the date, two carpet layers (Alex and Amir) arrived promptly at 08: 50 and within 25 minutes had carefully moved out all the pre-emptied cupboards, bookshelves, beds, etc. Without pause, they then removed the 24yr old carpet and scraped the underlay remains off the floorboards. Working to a well-practiced routine, Alex and Amir expertly completed everything (including vacuuming throughout, old carpet removal, and replacing furniture and beds). They cheerily departed by 3: 30pm same day, leaving behind a great testament to their ability and trade.
The transformation of our home on 22 March 2019 is everything we expected, and full credit is due to the expertise of ABC Carpet Court and their employees/contractors, which I can heartily recommend.

My new hybrid floors look great! Customer service was fantastic, as the team listened to me and provided helpful advice. The installation team were very professional, efficient and made the process easy.

I just wanted to give high praise to your hard working tradesman who laid our kitchen floor vinyl last week. He did an unbelievable job in trimming around every conformity with every precise cut and I still don't know how he could achieve this perfection of a perfect fit all round with everything he had to contend with. Even to all the little indentations in the terrazzo step where he went to the extra trouble instead of just cutting a straight edge truly mystifies me when you consider the great big roll he started off with sprawled all over the floor in the first place.

Feel free to use this in any promotion or recommendation that you wish.

Please let him read this as a job well done - as I certainly only give praise where praise is due.

And at some stage down the track I'll be considering having the rest of the house carpeted and you'll definitely will be my first port of call - that's for sure.

Terrible service! The guy was more worried about the computer than serving customers. I will never come back. I already did the quote in another store and I have a deal with them!

So thankful for the team at ABC Carpet Court, they made our experience so easy. With such a huge carpet range, the salesperson helped guide us to make our choice, and we couldn't be happier with the end result. Loved dealing with them! Will definitely be using them again.

In store staff were very helpful. However no response received for a quote (email, phone, and in store) and its been over a month.

Sadly we had to go with someone else for the job.

Good service, varietu and price but the Installers were a bit hopeless, turning up at 2.30pm not 9am and turning a 1 day job into 2. No warning either that we would need to trim our wardrobe doors so the carpet would fit.

We're very happy with the carpet we purchased here. We price checked the same carpet elsewhere and ABC Carpet Court was well below. Prompt delivery, hard working carpet layers and a top job!
