54Absolutely delish dumplings and tea at reasonable prices. It was so good I forgot to take photos until dessert! If you love chilli, request some, the chef's home made satay is to die for. Book if you can, it gets very busy. Definitely worth a visit, but bring cash or be prepared to bank transfer (no eftpos).
Rylstone is a quaint, small town outside of Mudgee.
But the best dumplings I have had, better than Chinatown in Sydney. If you are ever staying in Mudgee or the surrounds, this place is a go. Bookings are essential.
What a gem in Rylstone, definitely worth making a detour for. Each of the dumplings were delicious and the bbq pork bun just so fluffy it almost melted in your mouth. Such a lovely unique experience. Thoroughly recommend.
We sat in a beautiful courtyard, in the autumn sun, amongst the herbs and flowers, eating wonderfully flavoured dim sum and drinking refreshing tea.
5 stars… Great Experience!
Had a lovely lunch in the garden with my family here on a stunning autumn day.
The dumplings here are delicious.
The staff are very friendly and work quickly. They have indoor and outdoor seating, which is nicely decorated.
The outside tables have baboom surrounding them along with red umbrellas. The menu is a semi wide variety ranging from seafood dumplings to regular pork dumplings.
The food came quickly along with a few sauces to use. The dessert was a little bit basic but finished the meal nicely.
Overall very nice but personally I wouldn't go again. Would reccomebd.
Overpriced and disappointed. Travelled from Mudgee. The Globe Hotel is a better choice. Better value for money in my view. Sorry. Nice folks and good service just to little for too much. Would not recommend or go back.
The dumplings were fairly average, and very expensive. It is not Yum Cha, not even close to Yum Cha. The bun was very average, the tea was quite nice, but again it was all just way too expensive, and its 2022 and no EFTpos?
Rylstone is a beautiful little village and has this gem of a cafe that make the best dumplings I have had in a long time. Coupled with a delicious bun, it is a must to call on for lunch.
Lovely extensive selection of Teas. Handmade fresh Yum Cha selection. Friendly and attentive service. A lovely surprise to find on our way through to Mudgee from Sydney.
Firstly, a beautiful building. We didn't have a booking but lady was very kind and gave us a table outside in the lovely garden area. Dumplings were fabulous (we've tried many dumplings b4). Love the way they brought out Chef's variety a few at a time to our table. Great experience. Variety of teas were great too! Service and friendliness 10/10. Definitely worth the detour!
They say best dumplings in NSW and I'd have to agree. Big fan of dumplings like most Aussies, and these are by far the best I've had. F#@k I'd drive from Sydney just to have these! Last trip there we bought frozen ones to take home! Yep! They sell frozen ones! An absolute must of you are in the area! Also staff are amazing! Super friendly and helpful. Will be back no bloody doubt!
The food quality is really good. Different favours inside and the skins are different as well. It is a surprise in this little town
What a gem of a place! Loved the food and the owner and staff were amazing. Everyone so friendly. No EFTPOS so make sure you have cash.
For such a small business in a small friendly town you would expect to be welcomed with much gratitude no matter who you are!
Unfortunately, we were instead greeted with "You must show proof of vaccination" when it is NO LONGER mandatory. We will never visit again & never recommend your business!
Amazing food! Was my best Dumpling and the tea
I really appreciate and recommend this place.
We stopped here on the way back to Sydney after being recommended their Yum Cha. It certainly didn't disappoint, stunning fresh dumplings with a selection of Chinese teas and great service. The Tea House itself is a great little venue with a real quirky feel. I just wish it wasn't so far from home, or we would be back a lot more often.
Excellent - This is a hidden gem! Fantastic selection of Teas and excellent dumplings. A must visit.
We were made to feel very welcome at 29 Nine 99 YUM CHA & TEA HOUSE. We sat outside, in the sunny courtyard and enjoyed a delicious selection of dumplings and teas from an extensive menu. The host’s suggestions were helpful and she made sure we had a nice time.
Thanks again for the fabulous yum cha. We’ll come back to dine again.
